NEW YORK - The 2006 Eastern Conference Final opens Saturday, May 20, when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Buffalo Sabres, the National Hockey League announced today.

The Western Conference Final, between the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and the Edmonton Oilers will start Friday, May 19. All Western Conference Final games will start at 6 p.m., local time.

Carolina in 5 - Buffalo has had a surprising run so far but I don't think they can keep it going. Call it a hunch.

Edmonton in 6 - 2 Cinderella teams from the west but I like Edmonton's never say die attitude. Even being down 2-0 to the Sharks, you never got the feeling they were out of it. Should be a great series.
