NHL Playoffs Round 2 Picks Thread
Once again, we'll go over the rules.
Make your pick for each series, including # of games. One point is awarded for a correct series winner guess, another point if you guess the correct number of games. If you didn't participate last round, you still can, however you will have an essentially insurmountable road to winning. But it could still be fun. Deadline for picks is Friday, May 5 @ 4:00 PST. Eastern Conference (1) Ottawa (52-21-9, 113 pts) vs. (4) Buffalo (52-24-6, 110 pts) (2) Carolina (52-22-8, 112 pts) vs. (3) New Jersey (46-27-9, 101 pts) Western Conference (5) San Jose (44-27-11, 99 pts) vs. (8) Edmonton (41-28-13, 95 pts) (6) Anaheim (43-27-12, 98 pts) vs. (7) Colorado (43-30-9, 95 pts) My picks: Ottawa in 6 New Jersey in 6 Edmonton in 7 Anaheim in 7

Hmm...this round is going to be a little bit tougher. Let's see what the magic dart board says.
Ottawa vs. Buffalo => Ottawa in 7 Carolina vs. New Jersey => New Jersey in 6 San Jose vs. Edmonton => Edmonton in 7 Anaheim vs. Colorado => Colorado in 6 I don't know why, but I can't see any series lasting less than 6 games.

WTF?! I leave for a little bit and the top 4 seeds bow-out of the western conference??? WOW.
Ottawa in 7 New Jersey in 5 Western Conference San Jose in 7 Colorado in 6 I have a feeling Joey T. in SJ is gonna make a successful Cup run; thus, furthering my depression over the B's trading him. |

Who cares? My beautiful Habs are golfing...
Where is the damned crying smiley? *cry* *pout* My picks: Ottawa in 5 Carolina in 7 San Jose in 6 Colorado in 6. These picks are getting pretty hard. Anaheim Colorado is going to be a barn-burner, but I didn't throw down for 7 games because I think momentum is going to play a role. And Carolina / Jersey is a tough call. I picked 7 games, and think it will come down to a coin toss. God I love this game.

Ottawa vs. Buffalo - Ottawa in 6
I have to go with Ottawa here. Carolina vs. New Jersey - New Jersey in 6 Cam Ward vs Martin Brodeur. hmmmmm. San Jose vs. Edmonton - Edmonton in 7 Ryan Smyth better get ready for a workout, pulling a bandwagon is hard work. Anaheim vs. Colorado - Colorado in 6 Anaheim is good, but experience has to show sometime.

ooh! good to see the level of participation guys. Makes my job compiling all of it that much more fun.
Keep em coming! I'm going to craft something special for the winner, that may carry over to next year. I smell the birth of TFP tradition.

OK, I know its been said, but I have to say it again. Ace, if I ever get in your neck of the woods, its an official beer on me. This is fun, and I thank you for taking the time to put it together, even if I'm stinking up the joint with my picks.
Thank you Ace.
