a "How To" on Hickeys
 

Well i always thought the TFP had a thread on everything...

but i've been searching around this morning, looking for a thread on how to give my girlfriend a hickey without hurting her to much.
i mean, a hickey is sucking on the skin until the blood vessels break isn't it??? doesn't that hurt a little??

i'm only getting curious because my girlfriend mentioned last night that she'd like me to give her one sometime. (sometime after her dance concert 2nite, thats y i didn't attempt it then & there)
now i've never given one b4, and it may sound silly to ask...
but is it just sucking on the skin??? or is there some nibbling involved. cause that could be fun...
we both enjoy a bit on nibbling...

The actual hickey comes from sucking. But you don't want to suck on her like you would on a straw - kissing, nibbling, licking, teasing. It's all part of the experience.

This is really a case by case type of thing. I know that I on occasion post the 'how-to' posts in sexuality, but this would have to be a broad explaination.
1. Determine the sensitivity of the hickey reciever.
-is he/she tickelish? how tickelish?
-how long can he/she go without rugburn durring intercorse?
-is he/she proned to complainiong durring mildly uncomfortable physical situations?
-does he/she bruise easily?
2. Technique.
-make sure that both people (or all people in the case of a three or more situation) are in a position that will be both erotic and comfortable for a long period of time
-make sure that you have access to at least one target zone (usually neck, inside of elbow, upper back, back of knee, inner thigh, etc.), but preferablly two or more.
-as you address the target zone, look for softer skin, peach fuzz, and reder areas that a lot of people have, as these areas are likely to have more nerve endings and will provide more intense stimulation.
-make contact very sofly for the first 1-4 minutes, only lightly kissing and sucking. The area will only come partially sensitive before your touch and you need to warm the person up
-listen to the sounds and/or words that come from the reciever. Sounds of enjoyment mean "continue what you're doing", sounds of enjoyment with increasing volume usually mean"harder", for example.
-continue for at least 5 minutes or until the other person begins to squirm a bit, then stop for a moment to check redness or to address a different area.
-rinse and repeat

I never got hickeys. They're ugly, and a sign of immaturity IMO.

If she wants you to give her one, do it on her breast or some place private. For the love of god dont do it on her neck.

I don't get hickies easily, therefore getting sucked to the point I would get one would hurt considerably and would probably be more into the S&M realm of having sex. OK for some, not for me.

Martel, on the other hand, gets them *very* easily. All I have to do is make an "O" with my mouth, place somewhere on his body (easiest is his neck) and suck for about, oh, five-ten seconds, enough pressure to pull up the skin, not so much it hurts. He gets a cute little almond shaped red mark that goes away in about four days.

So yeah, it depends on the brusing capability of your SO.

Hickeys are great moreso in the methods it takes to get em.. and as long as the whole world doesn't see it.

I remember walking into my SO's parent's lounge with a massive one from her on my neck - I remembered about half-way into the room that she'd left one there... good thing I was wearing a roll-neck jumper.

Hmmmm, interesting...I have never recieved one or given one. I always thought they were kind of stupid when I was in high school. I mean...I thought it was such a waste of time. I was under the impression that love-bites were dangerous. Somewhere in my childhood someone (can't remember the exact source of this information) told me that because you were drawing the blood closer to the skin, there's a chance of it causing permanent blood-clotting or something equally disturbing.

And go slowly. Take little pauses from your licking/sucking/biting/kissing and look at what you're doing to make sure it isn't a "bad" hickey. If you do it well she'll be super into it!

Don't--and I mean don't--put hickeys on her breasts. They are extremely painful.

The trick is constant suction with a bit of nibble. It takes practice, but I'm the queen of leaving marks.
