Help with a girl i know. - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hey, I was wondering If you guys could help me with a little thing.

There's this girl I like. We went to a sleepaway camp over the summer and became really good friends. In the middle of the summer, my friend ended up going out with her (He asked me, I wasn't wholly interested in her at that time), but they became hook-up buddies and never really went out, which is what she wanted to do. Near the end of the summer she started getting warmer towards me, calling me honey, my love, stuff like that. She started getting more cuddly - if thats the word for it - she hugged me more, gave me little winks every now and then.

Near the end of camp, We were sitting at a table at the end and she got up against me, laid her head on my shoulder, and I put my arm around her. A minute more and I'm sure we would have started kissing but then her friend, katie came and sneaked up on us. She was like "Awww, you two are so cute, you should definately go out!" Then she blushed and told katie she was going out with my friend. They argued about it and finally finished with "Well he's a jerk, you really should leave him." Katie left us alone after that, but the moment was gone.
A note here, katie had been calling me cute since the middle of the summer. I don't know why, no one really calls me cute lol. I know she doesn't like me, but she always has like an affectionate tone and mood when shes around me.

She talked to me a lot about my friend after that. Like how they werent doing anything romantic and how she really wanted to. We got even closer then, i suppose.
Eventually, she broke up with him (I'm still friends with my friend, he just didnt want her - well.. except for hooking up).

Me and this girl are really good friends now, and then camp ends. We get together a few times after camp and before school, but its with other people, so I really never get to be just with her.

School starts now and we go to different schools - mine's all boys, hers is all girls, but they're run by the same people, so we have dances together.
The first dance came last month but she was sick so she couldnt make it, and I ended up skiping it and going out with some friends.
Anyhow, this whole time, we're still talking to each other on AIM and on the phone.

To the end now, I don't want this to turn into an essay or anything:
I like her, and I know she liked me. I'm not sure if she still does. We talk about love and sex and stuff like that so much that asking her out might seem like another one of our jokes.
(For example, the last time we got together, a few weeks ago - again, with other people- she jumped up into my arms when she saw me and started telling everyone about our "gangbang" and various other things.)
So I'm not really sure what I should do.
I guess I am a little shy when it comes to asking people out, i've been with a bunch since 8th grade (12th now) and asking them out was always the hardest part -- again, I don't know why. I can talk to girls easily, I don't have low self-esteem.

So, should I just ask her out or something?

Ha I love these posts because, you know exactly the response you'll get, you just want that ammo to really get ya going on asking her out. So I'll give ya some, it sounds like it will work out, ask her out! Now go.

yeah, come back and ask again when you're 18.

When you ask a question a kid would ask, you make me want to take personal interest in you.

You don't want me to take personal interest in you, because then I find out you're still in middle school.
