Has anyone on here tried anything like AdultFinder or SexSearch? They intrigue me and I was hoping I could get your opinions or experiences.

I have... it's all bullshit. You can't respond to messages or send any unless you'rea subscribed member, and often the hits you get are from fakes who are just trying to push their amateur porn webpages on you.

The ones you quoted above seem to me to be a really expensive way to do what you can do on craigslist.

You also have to look at the membership numbers. One I looked at had 10,000 men looking for women and just under 1,000 women looking for men. I don't like those odds.

how much do subsriptions do these costs on average?

I've never been on one, but it's usually 30 bucks a month. The online one that I've seen work the best is "Match.com" My friend went on it and the outcome was good. Three girls! He's not dating them anymore, but he did get to.....you know. :D His profile is still up there right now. Its been like 2 months for him.

However my other friend got nothing. Alot of people are on that from all over the United States. He showed me how it worked and I was pretty impressed.

I have never used one, but I probably would.

I don't like to go out to bars or night clubs that often, so it may be harder for me to find someone if I was thrown out into the dating pool again. I would not look past using those to get used to dating again and get up some self esteem.

The real problem that I have with AFF is that the price is out of line, really, and you have to pay to do anything other than browse. We use the swinger sites, since that's what we do anyways, and that's worked out wonderfully.

I met a few people from AFF. Many fakes and many more men than women though.

I have tried the 'personals' thing and well no luck yet. Another site I tried was www.okcupid.com and met two people! It was crazy times. I actually dated one guy for about three months or so. It was fun to actually meet these people.

Don't forget Yahoo Personals. I think they have a thing where you can get a free week to have contact with anyone you see, just give your credit card number and cancel it right away so they don't charge you when the week is up (the free account will last even after you cancel it).

I had a profile up there, but I took it down after... uh... let's just say I had an interesting night. Interesting = scary and regretful. But I scored. Oh yes.

the ads seem a little suspicious, you have to admit.

well I've the good, the bad, and the ugly for ya. Due to my line of work, I don' get out socially very often in places to meet people, so I thought, what's to lose right? I've signed up for countless sites, so i'll give you my rundown on them. The good-- I like Match.com and Americansingles.com, I've met quite a few girls through them and have been pretty pleased. I didn't pay for them, i just give out my IM info in my profile schpeal. Word of wisdom,, you have to be clever as these sites will censor out any blunt phrase such as.. contact me at XXXX@XXX.com. The bad in my opionion are sites such as True.com and perfectmatch.com,, their just bad in my opinion because of the site layout and missing some features the others have such as, who has viewed your profile, last login date, ect... now the ugly are the ones you mentioned, sexsearch and AFF. I tried these and had no luck, I only got hits from people with online xxx sites and such, no genuine people in my experiences. So there you have it, take your pick and have some fun with it all. This whole internet dating deal has really been interesting to see evolve. Years back it almost seemed shameful and somewhat predatorish to say that you met somebody online. Now aday's its becoming perfectly acceptable.... oh what oh what is next for our kind???

I found a glitch in Sexsearch which will allow for anyone to look at all the profiles and send as many messages as you want.

Okay, if you are a guy with an account... make a quick fake account as a woman. Women have the means to look at all profiles and are able to send messages to whoever. As the window is open with your fake woman account, open up your browser and go to the site (so you will have the site open on two seperate windows). Sign in to your real account on this new window (the whole time keeping your fake account's window open). This should allow you to use your real account with all the features you'd normally have to pay too much to get.

It worked for me, at least. I used Firefox, if that matters.

Also... no luck finding anyone on this site. BUT it is better to find this out without actually paying to find it out. Maybe someone else will have better luck weeding through all the fake ads people put up there. Oh, and if you set up a fake woman account, I'd suggest signing up for a new hotmail account in which to put the fake account under, otherwise your main mailbox will get loaded up with guys looking for action.

I have used sexsearch and hooked up twice, it was nice the only thing is the working people that want you to go site to site. I like it.

I was doing ok on cupid for a time, but when I asked for another way to get a hold of the gals, they clamed up. All in the same week. Really weird.

I'm glad to read that people have had luck with these. That's cool. I'm glad people can be real adults with a service like this. (For me, the outward appearance of these services look like the same old MuscleGuyGetsSome with BarbieBlonde, while SkinnyGuy with great personality gets none.)

myspace.com works rather well, depending on who/what you're looking for.

it is a lot easier to wade through listings since the advanced search was re-enabled.

As with all the other ones there is a decent whack of fake profiles/people who can't read a user agreement (stupid high school freshmen girls, mostly)/general weirdos, but probably no more then any other site.

If you're into local music, (which i'm not), you'll find a lot of resources/bands on there too.

Only thing to watch out for is the amount of BLINDINGLY *horrible* colors and flashing things and sounds and videos on some of the profiles, I swear to god it's like Geocities circa 1997 exploded on some of those peoples profiles. :crazy:

In other words I would recomend going in there with firefox armed with a decent adblock list ;) Not only for the flash ad's that they like to put up, but for the crap that people put in their profile intentionally... :rolleyes:

I'd often decide that even with a low score rate - if you go to the bookstore, gym, cafe or whatever and don't meet anyone, well at least to did stuff that you enjoy.

Alternatively... if I send a couple of emails... it can take hours. If I get no response well then you've probably just burned through what was a perfectly good Saturday/Sunday morning. Sitting at home in fron to the PC.

So my advice... do it occassionally. But keep up with your regular activities. Online stuff is probably good for single guys on rainy days.

for pretty much anyone in Alberta, nexopia.com is kool. my buddy met & fucked six girls from that site, in the space of two months or so. myspace is good also, for the reasons spy_jmr1 mentioned. only downfall is the kids with twenty music videos playing amidst shitty flash animations & scrolling text on top of a garish background in their profiles...shit makes you go blind.
