Good sex music
 

I'm looking to make a high energy, edgy playlist with a lot of provocativeness for when I'm having sex.

I'm not really looking along the lines of Sade or Sinatra. The best thing I've found so far which fits what I want is Basement Jaxx - Get me off. The whisper song by the Yin Yang twins also works nicely.

Any suggestions? Come on I know you kinksters got some good ones you're hiding.

Both songs actually have a sex-driven beat, from starting out a bit slowly, building to crescendo, slowing a bit again and then climatic endings. I've had sex to Love, Rain on Me, it really is a great background tune....

anything, and I mean anything by Enomine....there is just something about that german evil choir omen sounding music that gets my blood going every single time I hear ANYTHING by them

I'm not sure how much I can help because usually when I'm in the moment everything else fades away. However, these are some of the groups/songs that have gotten me going...

Enigma, Afghan Whigs, Depheche Mode (esp. Personal Jesus), some of Pulp, some Smashing Pumpkins (esp. Adore), Julee Cruise, Air, Poe (esp. Hey Pretty and Terrible Thought), Sneaker Pimps (esp. Six Feet Underground), and more that I can't think of right now.

As long as it has a decent rhythm and I can move my hips to it, it's good to go! :p

My lady flatmate LOVES Led Zepplin. Put it on and I have to be careful to make sure she doesn't jump me. Not that I'd object that much.

I've found an older gothy group named Collide works mighty well. You can get some free downloads of their music off Amazon.com.

I have great memories of my first time with ktspktsp, when he put on a mix of Sigur Rós (Icelandic), Modest Mouse, and maybe some Led Zeppelin? (at that point I lost track of the music.) Bad Company is AWESOME, that song always makes me horny. :D

And maybe it's too soft for you, but I love the Garden State soundtrack for makin' love. And of course Dave Matthews, Crash Into Me... mmmmmmmm.

Well, I've got to say that old Bob Marley, pre super political Marley, was pretty much written with one purpose in mind. "I've got the notch for your safety pin" as he put it. But that's not what I think you're looking for. Enigma sounds like it's in your alley...I like some Tribe Called Quest and US3, Dead Can Dance etc.

The Garden State soundtrack is very sexy. If you like that, you could also check out the Postal Service and the Shins. I also like the Killers, but it might just be the line in Mr. Brightside where he sings "she touches his chest, he takes of her dress" or something along those lines.

Then it sounds to me like someone needs to invest in some Duran Duran CD's.

I always liked some Lords of Acid songs myself. Enomine is also good, as are certain tracks by Finsternis.

Versoin 2.0 by garbage is full of high powered songs with provocative but not explicit lyrics. And shirley's voice is a husky, breathy sexy sound.

Personally, I like to put on Sade's Greatest Hits or Lovers Rock. I lost my virginity to Lovers Rock...it will always have a special place in my heart.

I also really like to have sex to Muse live at Glastonbury...something about the sonic masterpiece that is that live performance just...oooh, gives me shivers.

If watching pornos is any kind of indicator of good sex music, I say use something with a lot of wah pedal.

I can't give any suggestions as to artists, but one thought did come to mind.
I'm surprised no one has pointed out that when YOU are having sex, someone else is probably in the room, listening to the same music. Consulting your partner about the mutual agreed upon tunes or styles would make sense to me. If I put on something I liked (Bob Dylan, Talking Heads) that the missus didn't, the music would be keeping me company, but she wouldn't be.
