I would love to hear from a group of women to see what their take on this is. I know more males prefer either shaved or well trimmed from their female partners. How about it ladies? What are your feelings on the topic?

tried it for the first time about a week ago. just because i had a special request to do so.
paaaain. i did not take to it well. i used a brand new razor and everything, and i still got some mad razor burn. but my kinky friend informed me using cucumber gel and/or aloe vera afterwards soothes and smoothes the skin quite nicely. but im a fan of the bare skin, and probably will be more once i have a better experience... mainly one without razor burn. edit: and i should add that i do enjoy a smooth area on guys. cuts down on any unwanted hairs finding their way into your mouth during oral... and the unpleasent balls smell. Personally I use the little scissors mostly used for fingernail clippings to trim my pubs. I like my woman to be shaved so when I go down on her it's not like a safari through a freaking rain forest, and since that's my feelings toward them I feel I should keep mine groomed and short so they don't end up with a mouthful of pubs. Keeps it more enjoyable for both of us. I also take great pride on my skills in going down on a girl. The feeling of them squirming on my face I find really entertaining.

the first time i ever shaved. i think was grade 8. i have now since graduated and have been out of school for a year now. anyways. it was in the morning before school.
i never realized the immense itch that followed. when the hair started to grow back i was a gonner. every break during school i had to scratch my area just to feel some sort of relief. |

I trim a landing strip with an electric trimmer on a med. setting, then trim the sack on the shortest setting. Then I use the bare blade of the trimmer to shape and go to the skin around the landing strip. I initially used a "gentle touch" trimmer (one of those little tiny trimmers for eyebrows etc. you see on tv) on the shaft then I shaved the shaft with an electric razor (the kind with 3 circles)now I just shave with the electric for up keep. Its true about the loose skin but you can do the shaft if it is hard as diamonds(it also helps to pull the skin tight with your other hand). Watch out if you start to get soft, it can pull in a little skin and bite you. That stings a bit but not bad, it cant be any worse than the nicks from a blade. I dont think the electric would be a good idea on the sack though. |

I have a lady's Norelco that I use to shave it down and then I razor it smooth...
As for the sack and shaft area I can get the shaft very smooth but the sack I have a hard time with. It's too loose and rounded. The area all around it I shave. What I have found is if I dip the sack in very cold water so that it shrivels up, I can pull and shave a great deal of it but I still have hairs I miss no matter how hard I try. I recently bought Nair for men so I'll give that a try and post the results. I have thought about waxing it but not sure if that would hurt the sensitivity in the long run.

Hello,
My wife recently surprised me by shaving herself entirely bare. It was definitely VERY HOT and much appreciated! Now, the problem is that she's being driven crazy by the itching, the red bumps, and the pain. I've read through many of the pages and much of the advice is what to do when you shave (IE: what type of razor, shaving cream, soaking it in hot water, etc) and what to do right after (lotion, oil, etc.). Is there any advice for what to do now? She's in a lot of pain, and any kind of underwear is hurting a lot from the elastics. She's also got these white bumps all over the shaved area (Think of them as a LOT of big whitehead pimples). I've tried to put baby oil on it to sooth it, and it only works a little. She wants to try baby powder - has anyone tried that? While I'd love it if she kept shaving I can't stand her in such pain, so I wouldn't push her to do it again. Any thoughts? |

I think right now moisturizers are the best way to go. I think your best hope is to tell her how great it was, maybe trim a little to show her reciprocity, and once she's healed and not in the pain nicely ask her to try again, but taking the right steps the next time (going with the grain, sharp blade, etc).

Someone posted something about putting baby powder down there or something as it gets "clammy". I agree with this. If you can find an unscented powder it helps especially after your aftershave has dried up.
I have a question that I don't think has had enough exposure: Ladies sometimes shave the landing strip or the hitler mustache, either is great, but is there a equivilent for guys? What do ladies like to see? |

Pubic Hair and You: A Lesson in Separation
Everything you need to know about shaving, in one easy post.
Hi there! So you want to know about shaving, do you? Well, you’ve come to the right place. 22 pages of info has been distilled down here. We’re going to check out the various forms of hair removal, with an emphasis on the most complicated and popular one of all, Shaving. Over the past 30 years, pubic maintenance has come a long way in our society. The days of “Au Naturel” Porn stars are long over- it has changed from mainstream acceptance to a fetish with a fringe following. It is extremely rare to see full bush in a Porn video, and it’s common to see both men and women shaved or waxed. This trend is not one limited to the Porn industry; many men and women now trim or go bare for their own enjoyment, as well as their partners’. The benefits of Hair removal are manifold: 1. Increased Sensitivity 2. A “Smooth” Feeling- It feels really good to the touch. You’ll love running your hands over it. 3. Less Odor and Taste (The Funk) 4. Good chance your lover will enjoy going down on you more (or may start going down on you) 5. For the guys- It makes your cock look bigger. TRIMMING While going completely bare is quite enjoyable, many people are satisfied just trimming the whole region, or trimming their pubic region while shaving their genitals. There are a few options for trimming, including scissors, beard trimmers and the like, but the general consensus is just grabbing the nearest electric trimmer/clipper and going to town. Length is a matter of personal preference, determined by the trimmer head you use. SHAVING Shaving has been around for a long time, a good 5000 years or so. However, progress in shaving technology has only picked up in the last 100 years. Still, it’s plenty of time to come up with a dizzying array of products. Some of these are better than others- I’ll be focusing on the few that others have agreed on having the highest quality for the shave. There are three important aspects to a shave: 1. Preparation of skin and hair 2. The shave 3. Aftercare 1. Preparation of skin and hair First of all, if you want to start shaving, but you’ve let your hair grow out over ½ of an inch, trim it down first. Long hairs will clog and dull your razor and make the job much longer. Next, you should to prep your skin. This means you should soak the area with (preferably) hot water to soften the hair, and a lubricant like shaving cream or soap so your razor will glide easier. Many people do this in the shower for convenience, but you can go about it any way you please. Recommended Products: 1. Aveeno Shave Gel 2. Bar soap all pretty much created equal, but a non-perfumed brand will probably cause less irritation to any nicks or cuts. 2. The Shave There are a couple simple rules to follow: a. Don’t shave against the grain. b. Go Slow. c. Don’t go over the same area again if you don’t have to. That’s pretty much it for the shave. When you shave, you often remove a microscopic layer of skin. When you make several passes, it’ll gradually, increasingly irritate your skin. Just to keep in mind Go with the grain at first, and if you want a closer shave, go across the grain but not against it. Make sure your razor is sharp. Use your judgment on when to replace, but do it often (perhaps every 2 or three shaves, or when it begins to drag) For the guys- although it’s scary to shave your scrotum at first, go slow and you’ll be fine. Try to get good lighting if you can, in dimmer light you often get “stragglers”. And yes, it will hurt if you nick yourself. There are many nerve endings there. It’s not the end of the world if you do, and the thing is, it’s not going to happen often, if at all. Also, never use an electric razor on your genitals. Almost every single one pulls the hair up to cut it. This is fine for the relatively firm skin on your face, but if you try it on your ballsac you’ll just end up screaming on the floor. Recommended Products: 1. Gilette Mach 3 Turbo disposable razor. There’s a general consensus that this is the razor that gets the job done right. 2. The Sensor razors. I’m told they conform well to some very curvy parts of the body, so I think they’d be a good second choice if the Mach 3 isn’t getting to where you want it to go. 3. Aftercare In my mind, this is the most important part of your shaving experience. Everyone hates the itching and ingrown hairs that can come with your hair growing back. This can be minimized or eliminated with good aftercare. After you’ve finished shaving, you’re smooth. Your skin, however, is dry and irritated. The best thing you can do at this point is to moisturize. Grab a good aftershave or moisturizing lotion and throw it on. This’ll hydrate your skin and let it recover. Your crotch is not a friendly environment. Wrapped up in clothes, it’s hot, moist, and sticky. It’s really not somewhere you want to put a recently sensitized shaved region of your body. You can reduce the discomfort (and a lot of itching) by putting on a talc based powder a little after your shave. Most of these powders have an anti-inflammatory (and more besides) included with their drying properties. A cautionary note however, as there are studies linking cancer (ovarian and lung) to the use of talcum powder. You can use cornstarch as an alternative, or if that is unsatisfactory, simply use moisturizer. (for more information, check the post below) For the next couple of days, make sure to exfoliate- basically this means that in the shower rub down the shaved area with an exfoliating brush or a loofa. Exfoliating basically means that you remove the top layer of dead skin, that hairs could get caught on coming out, which would form ingrown hairs. Something that’s been suggested (credit Halx) is putting on an oil-based lube 12 hours after your shave to avoid ingrown hairs. The results from those who have tried it have been somewhat contradicting, but in general supportive and the theory is sound (lubricate the skin so hairs come out more easily) Wearing loose airy clothing will go a long way in preventing ingrown hairs. If you do get any ingrown hairs, it’s best to just go at it with a pin and/or a pair of tweezers. There were also a couple things mentioned for aftercare that no one else commented on- Visine, and Tea Tree Oil. Both are anti-inflammatory, although tea tree oil has anti-microbial properties as well. Recommended products: 1. No clear winner in moisturizer category. Personal preference I guess. 2. Loofa/Loofah sponge for exfoliating. 3. Goldbond powder, baby talc powder 4. Vaseline or other oil based lube. Note: It’ll take time for the skin to become accustomed to shaving, just like the skin on your legs or face. It’ll get easier as time goes on. That’s pretty much it. You don’t have to do everything that’s up there to shave, but it’ll ensure the best possible results, especially if you have sensitive skin. MYTHS ABOUT SHAVING 1. If I cut my sac, it’ll bleed forever. Thought it would be common sense, but blood will clot anywhere on your body. Unless you’re a hemophiliac you’ll be fine. 2. If I shave, my hair will grow back darker, thicker, coarser, and with plans of world domination. Let me direct you to snopes. There was a poll asking members preferences in pubic hair, and while the actual poll details seem to have disappeared, results from written statements generally went Shaving > Trimming > Natural. DEPILATORIES This basically includes any cream, spray, liquid, or agent that burns, dissolves, or destroys hair. All I can say for these is that there are extremely powerful chemicals involved that depend on you removing the solvent before it does too much damage to the skin. It’s not something I would want to put around my pubic region, let alone on my genitals themselves. If you want to do it, go ahead, but it is dangerous in orders of magnitude greater than using a razor on your balls. WAXING Tutorial on getting a professional Brazilian wax done This is a helpful site for professional waxing for women. In general, getting waxed by a professional is considered a less painful and time consuming option, rather than home waxing. I have no advice for home waxers, other than to go to a professional instead. Guys that want to get a male brazilian (sometimes called a Parisian) will have a difficult time finding a business that does them. Ask around, pick up a phone book and start dialing. Prices will be more expensive than for women, somtimes twice as much or more. It doesn't hurt as much as you think, especially if the waxer is well experienced with their work. The area will be sore for a day or two afterwards (or three depending on how quick you heal). And then you're home free. Moisturize the area, and then keep it dry, either with talc powder or cornstarch. There is no stubble and you will be hairless for 2 or three weeks afterwards. PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL Always an option. Check your local listings, laser therapy seems to be the most popular choice at the moment. It will be expensive. And the credits, to those who made significant contributions in the huge thread: MrSelfDestruct, Halx, Toxic515, Analog, Panser, mtsgsd, komodo, SiN, Sparhawk, Motdakasha, Vanblah, etc. If I missed you, send me a PM. If I messed something up, send me a PM.

Good info. Only one I would put a disclaimer on (for me, since I have naturally oily skin) is the use of oil-based lubes to soften the skin. They can clog pores, causing zits, etc. I'd also add the hints of sitting in front of a mirror once in a while for absolute removal certainty, shave daily (if the legs and face need it, so does the pubic area), and, if it's the first time, use a conditioner in the shower for a couple of days first. Before my first clean shave, I trimmed down, then used Nair Bikini to remove the majority of hair, then finally shaved what was left.
Too often, the decision is made, a razor comes out, then the pain begins. Never had any pain, but it does feel odd at first. If you think you might get irritated or feel weird, shave a little at a time, get used to it, then go all the way. You won't go back!!!!

Personally, I never understood the appeal of the shaved pubic area on men. They're men! They're supposed to have hair! I was with a shaved guy once, and it kind of creeped me out. Total turn off. I made the mistake of bending to society's demands and ended up shaving my region for a while. Then one day I said, "the hell with it." That might be too much information for you, so I do appologize...

The first time I was involved was a roomate of mine who complained his member looked like a chicken's skin before putting it in the pot. he reported profuse itching. He said it was worth it because it made his "little guy" look like a "big guy".

Argh Help!!!
Basically story goes I want to remove certain hairs but feared the razor due to myths and stuff. So on goes the Nair, rapes my sack and doesn't even remove the hairs, just makes them straw like. So it got shaved off, I followed the guide posted here and its all ok. But, and its a big but, I can't seem to get close enough with the shave so i end up with about a millimeter of hair left, like stubble but slightly longer. This hurts like a bitch and will probably solved by a new razor. I hear good things about the M3 Turbo so I'll get one of them. My other problem is that smoothness is not smoothness so catches on my clothes and then hurts even more, this again is probably the razor. But i can still see all the hairs if i pull my skin taught, little black dots. Would the razor solve this?
Note: This is only on the pubic hair region, not the sack. Although there is a little on the shaft. |

As for acceptance...
Up until recently, I have had the same SO for about 7 yrs, off and on.
During one of the "off" periods, I became very active on irc. The subject of shaving came up with several females I was communicating with, and I became very curious. Of course whats not to love about lathering up the ole genitalia? I shaved, and enjoyed the process, and the results. I kept it up for a while, and returned to the previous longtime SO. She TOTALY freaked!! She would not get near my bald sack under any circumstances!! She said it was like being with a 12 year old. I have to wonder why she would pick that age, but I digress. I liked it, she did not. I quit. I wonder about the reaction of my next partner, to finding a clean shave on our first encounter. I am actually quite neutral on the issue of shaving. Um... was there a question in there? |

the girl i'm currently with likes the fact that i take care of myself around my pubic area, but as i am a hairy guy in certain parts, she said i could try shaving my armpits.
when i first started shaving, my crotch was really itchy for about a week and a half, until i started doing it regularly and whatever itch was there got weaker to the point that i experience discomfort only if wearing briefs and having not shaved in a week or more. the problem with her suggestion is that i don't want another body part to have to worry about taking care of. armpits are a lot more functional and less aesthetic than a cleanly shaved pubic area is, so will shaving the moderate amount of hair i have there be bad for me? (more sweat, more smell?) also, does armpit hair grow back at a rate that would have me shaving every day to stop irritation? |

I just wanna add something to this thread. I got waxed a little while ago and I was so enjoyably smooth for a very long time. It cost about $125 for the butt, crotch (full brazilian) and under arms. The service is recommended every 5-6 weeks and gets easier and easier with each appointment.
The pain? Ya, it hurt, but it was fast. The situation? I must admit being naked in very vulnarable positions as a guy named Enrique ripped hair off my privates was fairly unnerving, but the experience was a positive one. Painful, awkward, but very professional and courteous. The payoff? Well, aside from a rush of endorphins to counteract the pain, you get a smooth smooth body that your partner will absolutely crave. I recommend it.

So I am wandering about the site being a new guy and all and read this thread, well I read the beginning and the end anyway, I don't think I would have the patience to read all of it especially since most of it seems a bit repetitive. That is ok though. My thoughts on the subject are, I shave my nuts and shaft, I have been doing this for several years now, at least 6. My methodology differs a bit from what seems to be the norm though. I use the smallest razor I can find Schick Slim Twin. And I always shave dry. not in the shower not with hot water not with cold water not with cream. Just plain dry shaving. There is almost never any discomfort nicks or pain. My theory and I never theorized about it before really is that without any form of lube I get a close comfortable shave because the razor is less likely to just slide over the hair. I could be wrong but it seems to work for me. I also think it goes a bit easier if your nuts are shriveled a bit, makes fore a firmer surface to run the razor over. The shaft gets done while semi erect. Every once in a while when I get bored I shave everything else off but not too often, I'm not an extremely hairy guy but I do have some hair on my stomach and of course my legs and I think the bald patch in the middle of that looks a bit odd. Last time I did that I did a Hitler just for s&g's. I wouldn't mind trying wax some time.
As for girls that shave, I don't have a strong preference either way. I like shaved girls trimmed girls and hairy girls. I think they all have there own appeal. If I had to choose just one to have on a girl for the rest of my life....probably just a minor trim. don't take anything completely off just get it down to where it dosent look like a bad afro hiding from the '70's. Penis Enlargment
Ok I was watching "The Practice" this morning and basically, the witness said the person who flashed her and such had a tiny penis, which was the defendants. The defandant said he has a large penis, and actually showed the jury and judge...and apparently it was large.
The funny thing is, he still lost the case because one of the jurors was a plastic surgeon and he apparently "tampered with the evidence" by having plastic surgery and getting his penis enlarged, he saw the scars and such. Now I say this because for one, I never knew you could get your penis enlarged like that, you hear about plastic surgery alot, but never along these lines. Two, I now bring up all those penis englargment pills, do they actually work and such? Three...DISCUSS AWAY =) |

The penis extends down past where it meets the pelvic area, so the operation simply uses some of what's hidden and pulls it out (I'm pretty sure that's how they do it at least).
I'm also fairly certain that penis enlargement pills don't work. If they did I think they would have a better method of advertising - right now the only place I've ever seen them for sale is in my Hotmail inbox. -Tamerlain
