Bukkake Pronunciation
 

This may seem a little odd, but I was wondering if anyone knows the correct pronunciation of bukkake?

I dug up this text about it from a blog, but i am curious if anyone may know for sure? it's a hard topic to search for on google; without getting inadanted with porn sites! :p

I'd always pronounced it "Buck-ache" whereas the program insisted on pronouncing it "Buck-are-key", which if you think about it, sounds much more Japanese.

I'd always thought it may be Buck-ache as well?

I am mainly after this information in order to humour friends with it. Thanks :)
Also, if anyone else wants to discuss origins or anything else remotely related, that's welcome as well.

it's actually a japanese word, basically meaning "big spill"

japanese is phoenetic, so any japanese word in western characters (romaji) is very easy to pronounce.

"bu" is pronounced like "boo"
the a sound in "ka" is like "jaw"
the double kk means there's a slight pause before the next syllable is pronounced
"ke" is like the kay sound in "okay"

so to put it all together: "bookaw-kay" and the - denotes a small pause before you pronounce the last syllable.

so yeah, buck-ache is definitely wrong :klol:

Having more than a passing familiarity with Japanese, I can endorse MiSo's phonetic representation. Imagine it's the sound a girl makes when the fifth load is dumped down her throat.

That is how I always thought it was pronounced....

I pronounce it "boo-kah-kay". I doubt I'll ever have good reason to say it out loud though. :D

I don't think I've ever actually said it out loud... but I've always thought "byooKAHkay." In a conversation with my brother, he mentioned something about kitty "buckOCKee." It took me a while to figure out what he was talking about.

I always thought it was something like boo-khaki, but like Suave said, a reason to say it out loud has evaded up until this moment.

I personally just like to throw it into any conversation to further confuse and frustrate those unlucky enough to be involved.

I can't remember where I read it, but it had a few references. ( because I can't provide those, then take this with a grain of salt no pun intended ).
Bukkake in literal means "to splash" Initially it was a form of vegetable soup that the lower classes would eat. From what I remember it was because the vegetables were just splashed with water, heated and then consumed. Of course the term "bukkake soup" today has a completely different meaning.
