dx927-- there is a general rule concerning age differences-- the half your age plus 7 calculation
http://www.lura.net/03/romance/

i've bent it a little bit, but on the whole i think it's a fairly good rule of thumb

It's all about the Seven-Year-Rule.

Take the man's age. Divide by 2. Add 7.
That's as low as he can go!

Mal made a great point. My boss has a daughter who started growing breasts at 10. A year or so later, she now wears a C-cup and looks very much the young lady. Except she's still a kid, very much so. She just turned 12 and is starting to have all sorts of problems related to having developed so early. They have to monitor what she wears because she doesn't have the awareness of a woman about her body and thinks she can wear the skimpy little halter tops she ran around in a couple of years ago (well, she could of course, but he's insanely worried about what could happen). She has no idea how her appearance affects the male of the species and is completely unprepared for it. He just found out she's purging after meals because she feels "fat" next to her toothpick friends. I have no doubt that if she somehow ended up in having sex at this point, she would be an emotional train wreck.

I think everybody's said it already: no worries! if there's a girl who looks and acts sexually mature, she's fair game in terms of you being attracted. social standards are what you should be aware of.

I honestly think that the main reason young girls these days are looking so mature and physcialy developed is because of all the growth hormones in the cattle. I mean almost everyone eats beef/poultry and those who dont drink milk, we are consuming BGH (bovine growth hormone... plus everyother animal we eat has these growth hormones/steroids as well) and that probably isnt the best for us. That is why I try not to eat anything from the market, we get a half cow and about 2 dozen chickens a year from organic farm owners that we know so we are certain that they truly are free range naturaly fed animals. Because we are what we eat... same goes for what we eat.

Also on a side note I think it is that a mature dairy cow now produces somethine like 10,000 leters a year (or a life time, I cant remember) vs. 20 years ago the top producers had 1,00 leters. Kinda freaky eh

I'm curious if you have any scientific information to back up your claim here? I'm interested because I myself am a beef producer (raise cows/calves) and have never come across SCIENTIFIC data to confirm any harm in growth hormones. They are a natural occuring hormone and not cooked up in some lab by a mad scientist. And as far as that milk cow producing 10,000 liters versus 1,000, unless you want to pay 10$ or more for a gallon of milk, you better be glad that she does produce like she does.

Sorry for the rant and this is for another thread/topic, but without confirming data to support a correlation between sexual maturity and the hormones in our food, I feel it is not needed

Are you kidding? That's just creepy. The calculating behavior required for such an endeavor is inhuman, although I'll grant you that humans are mostly manipulative. Either that, or he used to point at almost every girl he saw and say that.

man, if girls are arousing interest at earlier stages all the time, what'll happen in like 20 years?
Even if this was true, I wouldn't worry about it, it would undoubtedly be logarithmic or even asymptotic.

Go science! If we assume that you meant 1,000 Liters, then we can make some calculations. If we had made such progress with women, they'd be dateable at 14/10 = 1.4. Now THAT'S impressive.

No, that's truly scary!

What is impressive is how this thread started about dateable kids, turned to beef, cows and milk, and has gone further along the debate back to dateable kids!

Well done nulltype!

Ok - so I've been avoiding putting this up, but it fits so well. Long story short, a good friend's mom tried to set me up with a girl who was *significantly* younger than I - and I sort of wanted to determine where I stood. I did my own guessing, but I added the 7 yr. rule for comparision.

One does not remain married to the same woman for 35 years by being manipulative IMHO, at least to an intelligent woman with a good self respect for herself, which Diane is and has. And no, he didn't say that about ANY other girls he saw, he remained adamant that he would some day marry HER.

My bad, random chance and a bit of an obsessive disorder. The manipulation is only for the attainment.

Doesn't look any bigger in the original bmp. You'll need a larger bmp. Screenshot button and MSPaint are probably what you're looking for.

Heh, the same thing sort of happened to me today.

I'm 21, and I was at an arcade with a couple friends, playing DDR. Afew younger kids came in, one of which I knew from a couple years ago, and we were all sharing the machine. After being all chummy with these new people, I found one of the girls he was with really attractive, and was thinking "Wow, shes pretty hot... but she's probably about sixteen. I should stay away."

After chatting with everyone for a little while, yeah, she was sixteen. I didn't know whether to feel good that I judged well enough to stay away in the first place, or dirty because I was thinking about a sixteen year old.

I figure... It's okay to think, as long as you don't act, or be creepy. right? right?

It doesn't help that when I told her I was 21, she wouldn't believe me, and though I was seventeen. I get that a lot. I also get carded everywhere I go. I do look like a seventeen year old, woe is me.

Yeah - that's more or less what I did - but I forgotted to save it low-res. Kept getting resized on the host. Thanks for the suggestion. I probably shouldn't have posted it - or at least shouldn't have admitted to actually making it.
