some help with My friend - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

hey, i was wondering if anyone could help me out with a friend i have.

Her name is gina and we've been friends since middle school. We're in our final year of highschool (both 18yo and seniors) and i've been trying to get her to go out with me.

Though this is proving to be incredibly hard though.
Usually when i went out with people before this, we could always set a date. Movies, her or my house, easy.

Now though, we always talk online and in person, but we cant ever seem to get together on the weekends. I always have some school game or event that i have to attend to, and she has baby sitting or something else.

This has been going on for about a month i guess.
Anyway, so what im trying to say is, we both like each other, but should i give up on her? Even on her GF's free days, she always has something going on. Is she avoiding outside of school?

usually before the first date, i invite our friends to where ever we go, so that i can see if she really wants to be with me or not. And shes quit out of those.

You could say, "well, maybe she doesnt like you" but, i've asked all her friends, and even face to face, and shes always said yes. Maybe im just a fool, but who would lie about one guy to all your friends, and then to himself? i dont know, but that seems kinda sneaky. If i didnt like me, id just say it to his face, or tell someone, and yes, I'd probably be hurt for a while, but then I'd move on.

I just don't get whats happening here.

So, if anyone can give me advice or anything, please do.

Talk to her, tell her how you feel. If you wait to long then someone else will come into the picture. Stop talking to her friends about it and talk to her. That's what she is waiting for.

what about getting together on the weekdays? maybe study for a test together during the week or something. it sounds like the feelings are both there.

How about just asking her! Be blunt and to the point. You know kinda dont give her an out without answering your question. Hey Gina... I have asked you out like a bunch of times now... am I just dumb and not getting it or what...? But you should do it soon cause the longer you delay the more it will get in the way of your friendship. So good luck and may the force be with you.
