Attracted to girls that look like girlfriend.
I have had several crushes on several of my acquaintances that look like my girlfriend. They have the same facial types and about the same size and weight. I love my girlfriend and we have been together for over a year and don't have any serious relationship problems (no more than anyone else would have).
Is this a normal thing? Why am I attracted to something else similar?

I understand you Milian. I've had those same feelings.
If I go out with a blond, I notice other blonds, If I go out with black hair girl, I notice the black haired girls. It is just like when you buy a new car with a color you have never seen before, then suddenly see that same color everywhere you go. |

I have friends that find girls of all types attract attractive, but only ones that have certain features (brown hair, brown eyes, short for one) that drive them wild.
It's nothing out of the ordinary. Besides, you associate the physical features that all these girls have with the memories and emotional attachment you share with your girlfriend. You see these girls' personality as everything you liked from your girlfriends personality. |

Not a problem unless you act upon it. Okay, quick story, my brother is divorced, and he's now dating a woman that is a carbon copy of his ex... We seem to gravitate toward those that look like the ones we've had. I'm sure many others can give you similar stories.

I'd say as long as you're still attracted to your girlfriend, this seems to be a reasonable expression of a healthy male libido. In response to absorbentishe's brother though, it seems kinda creepy that he'd be dating someone that looks like his ex. Hopefully its because he just finds that particular type of woman attractive and not because he's projecting his ex onto his new girlfriend...

Normal: That which does not exist in reality.
Abnormal: People like you and me. There are your definitions.

Thank you for your comments. I am very in love with her and obviously attracted to her. I didnt know if this attraction to other people like here was something subconsiously telling me that the relationship is missing something, etc...
As for the comments about being normal: I totally agree with everyone here. What is normal? There is no such thing.

I've gone out on a couple of dates with this girl I met at a gas station. She's a cool girl, I like her a lot. Problem? She reminds me way to much of my ex fiancé. That’s kind of a real turn off for some reason right now. I'm attracted to her physically but my head is telling me "danger! danger!" for no other reason then her mannerisms remind me way to much of the ex.
<-- got burned really really bad.

Have we forgotten that we as human beings are creatures of habit? We will always be attracted to our base likes and dislikes... most times we tend to date or have relationships with people we are most comfortable... for me it is the small frames girl next door types with pouty lips... lips are the most important facial feature to me... all my girlfriends have had pouty lips.... I think we stick with what we know!

But I never was attracted to her type before I met her. In fact, I want too attracted to her the first time we met. She was good looking but just didnt catch my eye. Now that we have been together for a while and are in love she is the most beautiful thing. I find her more and more attractive as our relationship progresses.

Hmm... I'm a *.* kind of guy...
I've been attracted to all sorts of hair colors, body shape (thin, athletic, chesty, leggy, bubble butt, etc.) - sometimes similar to the lady I'm involved with at the time, sometimes not. I don't think you're experiencing anything abnormal, but I don't think it's a constant of the universe or anythinh either. |
