I think I read a few years ago about this study that has been mentioned previously on this thread. I also know of other studies that show that you're more likely to marry someone with whom you have many similarities. Same background, proportionate height, etc... Even went so far as to point out that weird things like statistically significant similarities in the proportions of the length of couples' fingers and ears.

Now think about how many respondants have talked about a hot cousin on this thread. If you share alot of genetic similarities, but are not so closely related that the taboo is overwhelming - i.e. siblings or parents- it just might be natural to be very attracted to 1st cousins.

Me- growing up I had two hot cousins, and yes, I thought about them, but my mom was adopted, and therefore this theory would only apply to one of them.
