I was wondering how people feel.

Is there a double standard, and if there is, should there not be? My understanding of current trends is that it is farily common practice for a woman to give her man a blowjob from time to time as a treat. From discussion in here and elsewhere this can happen outside the context of "bedroom sex" (for lack of a better term) Basically it sounds to me like the BJ may be the only activity for that session and does not have to lead to other things including intercourse or a return of oral favours for example.

I have not heard much said about a reverse situation where the guy gives his woman oral sex, in a context of no returns or other activities expected.

Is this the way things are ? Am I the only one who believes this to be the way things are ?

i have no problem at all giving a woman casual oral sex... but in my experience, women aren't always for getting casual oral sex. it's as if they expect it to be followed by sex. perhaps they've been accustomed to this "routine" and thus that's what they expect.

I think it's because receiving oral sex for a woman has some emotional issues tied to it. For me, in order to receive and enjoy, I have to be very comfortable with my partner and trusting.
