Quality vibrator (Consumer report?)
Help me out here...
Is there a brand of vibrator out there I should look into as a gift to my wife? Not too noisy (important). Not cheaply manufactured. Not some massive thing that is best suited for tired feet. A personal vibrator that is femine, not too... uh... complicated... pretty, and doesn't run off house current. In the spirit of not going into excessive detail, a vibrator that will last past her next birthday? These things are so... generic. It seems nobody puts a name to the product. Just hot pictures on the box and a lead weight on the end of a DC motor. Surely I can do better...? Any suggestions? Of course, I prefer a gal's opinion but I'm not fishing here. I'd just like to know if I could surf something out on eBay or elsewhere and get a quality product. Any advice appreciated... -tb2 |

The "Pocket Rockets" are quite good. You can get them with a variety of attachments, but you must know, they aren't very big. (A little larger than a lipstick...container?) Runs off of one battery and are usually waterproof. It isn't used for internal stimulation much because it's small, but it works very well on the clitoris, nipples, and other small, sensitive areas. You can usually find one for ~$20 american at your local "fun shop" and they run off of a single AA battery.

Go to Early2Bed, the store is designed with women in mind and the products are all high quality. They describe exactly what you're getting with each product, it's features, dimensions, etc. They pretty much have something for everyone in a variety of styles and price ranges. I've used them in the past and have been very pleased with the service and *ahem* merchandise. There are other online stores out there, but this is the best I know of. Good luck, and I'm sure your wife will really appareciate the gift!
BTW...It's next to impossible to find anything on ebay, so I wouldn't waste anytime looking there.

The Fukoku 9000 is an excellent little vibrator. Every time my girlfriend sleeps over, I wake up to it humming and her moaning.
Its also fun to use together, though I'm still learning (I can't navigate by touch with it on).

I would recommend http://www.libida.com , it has a small selection of high quality items - that is a good thing because you don't get overwelmed with choices.

My favorite butterfly vibrator is the Audi-Oh... it straps on with the usual elastic straps so it fits snugly against the clitoris, and has a bullet vibe that silps into it. It's wired to a small remote.
The cool thing about it is you can set it to respond to sound, or use it with the usual speed dial most of them come with. You can use it with music, or your voice... or you can breathe on the little microphone on the remote and it will vibrate from your breath! It's kind of cool! As for vibes, I like the silicone vibrators. The silicone is nice and soft, kind of pliable, and feels good when it's inside your pussy, or when it's being rubbed on your clit. These feel SO much better than those dumb plastic smooth vibes. I think the thing is to keep in mind that women usually like the vibration on their clitoris... it's nice to have something big inside, but most women can't have an orgasm from internal stimulation only. Therefore, the little bullet vibes or things like the Fukoku are really awesome, as opposed to some huge realistic looking cock vibe. I actually review sex toys, and my fav vibe so far is here: http://reviews.monicaweb.net/gigolo.php People have mentioned some really good shops... here's a list of the places I like so far: http://www.ilovexor.com http://www.wildinsecret.com http://www.libida.com http://www.babeland.com http://www.vixencreations.com http://www.funfactory.de |

I'm in the same boat, looking for a vibrator for my girlfriend's birthday. She's never owned one before. I'm thinking about getting her a rabbit because of all the positive things I've heard about it. Any other recommendations? Should I just got with a vibrator or go with the full on thing (the rabbit has both I guess)?

my favorite vibe of all time is one called octopussy. it's good in water and out. like a lot of vibes out now, it has the clit stimulating "bump" as well as a larger piece for penetration. personally, i like vibration on my clit but i don't care for it when it comes to penetration (it vibrates against bone and can be a little uncomfy). unfortunately, the octopussy doesn't have seperate controls but the vibration is strongest on the clit bump and you don't feel it much inside you at all. has the standard dial to adjust vibration level on the end so it's simple to use alone and in the dark. it has an average size, it's durable (had mine over a year), not too much noise and it doesn't eat batteries. this is the one i buy for friends as their first vibe and i've not heard any complaints yet. if you can't find this one on your own and want a link, let me know and i'll look it up for you (don't have the url handy, sorry).
one thing you are gonna want to take note of though, is size. if you get one much different in size than yourself--don't make a huge leap up. some guys get these monsters that really aren't comfortable to use for the average girl. if you tend towards smaller and she'd like a little more, by all means get something that will accomodate her desires--but i'm promise you that getting her the world's largest vibe is not a good idea. you didn't mention if you want it for penetration but i also encourage you to look for silicone or some other "soft" material. plastic and metal are fine for the clit and nipples but for someone new to vibes, typically a bad choice if you want penetration because it has no give at all and the vibrations tend to be really strong. |

Check out Natural Contours from Candida Royalle supposedly made to work for her, not mimic the penis. Similar but way cooler www.myla.com makes some of the most attractive most expensive toys you could imagine. these things could be left out on your coffee table when company comes over and they would think they were sculpture.
