Don't you think a doctor would be a better person to ask this of?
If you are concerned about discretion, then there are free clinics that can determine this for you. That's what I would advise, don't take the opinion of the members here, we aren't medical experts. Hope everything works out for you & her, and she's alright. Good luck. |

yeah, it could be a baby. Go out and get her a couple different pregnancy tests, or have her go see a doctor.
You don't need to have sex in order to wind up pregnant. Stress can (I think) also cause her to miss her period. Or, it could be something more serious. Good luck.

DEFINITELY get checked out. medical things should NOT be diagnosed over the internet. Try a school clinic, if you're in college, they're easy on the pocket book. But at 18, skipping periods is not normal, and may be signs of pregnancy or a crudload of other things ranging from stress to much worse stuff. so, off to the clinic with her, and you too, for support!!

Stress most certainly can cause a person to miss a period, as can poor diet and a few other things.
Also there are many myths about how a person can (and cannot) get pregnant, so without knowing intimate details of what you two have been up to, I couldn't say what the likelyhood of it is. I would suggest first buying a home pregnancy test and seeing what it says. If it returns positive, follow it up with a visit to your doctor or Planned Parenthood. Take it ONE day at a TIME, and good luck.

Doctor.
you need to get over the dislike of doctors, particularly for gyn stuff, because is essential to your health that you get your yearly exams and go in whenever else u have reason to, like now.

I agree about the doctor and about the fact that you can become pregnant without having penetration. I remember I used to get really close without actually doing it before I lost my virginity. In retrospect, I am really lucky I didn't catch anything.
Suck up your fear and see the doctor. The more you go to the doctor, the less frightening it is. I'm sure you will make it through this just fine. No one here is going to judge you if you messed up this once, but we care about everyone on here and it would be wrong if we didn't tell you to go see the Dr. Don't worry, you'll be fine.

Doctor, doctor doctor.. get the point, everyone has said it. There's too much that can cause real problems in the plumbing and the rest of the body. Pregnancy can occur without penetration, if he's got the "uber-semen" and you don't clean up quick. (on the thigh or whatever) but since that doesn't really sound like the issue, again, it's DOCTOR.

There is no question here of what you need to do. It is very clear you need to get her into a doctor.
There are many factors that can tie into missing a period, all of which NEED to be addressed. It is not normal to miss a period and not being comfortable with doctors is not a good enough reason to play with your health. Go. Now. No questions. Just Go!
