There's a strange thread in the Ladies Lounge called "Penis Envy". Seems to me the guys around here might have a similar question put to them. I think I'd be interested in being a female briefly, not including a menstral period!, but that's about it. I'm pretty happy with my gender.

OTOH, I wonder what it'd be like to be (1) impregnable, or of course, (2) pregnant.

It's an interesting question. I chose sometimes because , you know, what if i like it and a day isn't enough. Would i still be hetero, or would my preferences switch genders too? It would be interesting, not only for the boldily differences, but because society treats men and women differently too.

I would like to be a women for one month i think, but without meaning to be shallow, have to be a well endowed and attractive one!

My reasons:

Get to experience a period to actually see how bad it is, so that when i'm a man again i know what is BS and what is the truth.

Try and discover the cause and cure of the famous "headache" that most woemn suffer from when sex is mentioned once you live with a man.

To get a better understanding of how to get a women off. i do okay, but lesbians will always be better than blokes when it comes to getting a women off, so by being a women for a month that would make this possible.

Appreciate how sexist males are to make a difference.

Lastly, and i have heard this before by so many people, but i would probably stay at home a lot, sit in front of a mirror feeling myself.

I think I've got a DECENT line on how the average woman thinks as growing up I was around my mom and my sister 85% of the time and got to hear their views on the world but just in case I missed something or there is something my male mind that isn't able to understand the female mind in it's full nuance I'd like to see things from their view just once. But I want to be in that position with a lot of people in the world. I want to know what it's like to be a poor Muslim. I want to know what it's like to be a rich white guy. Etc...these people have life experiences and challenges I'll never experience and would never be able to appreciate until I lived it for myself.

Hell yes, I'd love to try it for at least a day. My girlfriend (you know who I am ;) ) has got the greatest, and I would kill to come as hard as she sometimes does.

edit: I'd also like to note that to those of you who are thinking you can gain some sort of general understanding of what it is like being a woman by having a vagina for one freakin day, or even a month you are sadly mistaken. Thats like saying if I were black for a day or a month I would be able to understand what it's like to be black and all that they have gone through to get to where they are today. No small ammount of time would ever allow you to understand such a thing. In a way I'm not even certain if it is ours to know anyway. And to the women if we fully understood everything there is to know about you then you would lose a great deal of your self worth. I mean doesn't it feel good to know that you are a beautiful and complex organism that can leave a man completely dumbfounded with a mere phrase? That you have qualities about you that are all your own and that you can discuss with other women? I mean would you really want to lose all that by having men COMPLETELY understand you? It would certainly not bring complete understanding of what it is like being a woman, but it would bring a better level of understanding than previously.

Besides, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it's impossible for a man to completly understand women. If a guy actually did pull that off, his head would probably explode.

^ My sentiments exactly. But that short a period of time wouldn't allow you to understand very much(if a day even less). I have 2 sisters a mom, and about 3 or 4 female dogs in my time on earth. So I know a little bit of female mentality and the chores they put themselves to on a daily basis to make themselves "presentable" among other things. Most not needed in my opinion :). You wouldn't need to have a vagina to understand a lot of those things (you could just ask) but the things you would need one to understand would take a lot longer than a day, MAYBE even a month to gain a good understanding. Ya know a level of understanding thats actually useful. I can go wax my legs right now and understand how much that hurts I don't need a vagina to know that. I could grow my hair really long and know what it's like to have to blow dry your hair for at LEAST a half an hour to dry each and every layer of hair that I have. I could even put on some freakin make up if I wanted to. I most certainly wouldn't do any of those things though of course :|. I think only a great understanding of women would prove truely useful when interacting and men could never have that. A small understanding may only benefit sex, or something really rudamentary like that which is only useful in one occaision. Just asking or practicing or dare I say it LISTENING would help you in that area....it's probably a lot more work than you're willing to dish out on a constant basis. Might make ya feel like he-man for one or more occaisions but could very well become a chore if you insist on going the distance every time. Most men are way too selfish and lazy to attempt that...I'm ashamed to admit it. Perhaps I should work on that flaw myself as it is a huge one.
