About Changing Schedule for The Pill
My girlfriend recently started taking Ortho-Tricyclen for birth control. She's over in England for this semester, but will be returning in December. She's been taking the Pill at 7:30 am over there. The equivalent time in Boston (where she goes to school) is 2:30 am, which will be a very inconvenient time to pop a pill each morning.
Anyone have any solid references showing the effects of adjusting to this time change, and the change of effectiveness as a contraceptive for taking the pill at non-24-hour increments? My girlfriend will want references or the opinion of doctors, no hearsay. We've already checked with the drug company but they won't tell her anything saying that they won't give medical advice, and Planned Parenthood seems clueless about this. Thanks in advance d: ) |

Is there a reason she has not asked her doctor? That would be the first place I would look for the answer. Other than that around here we have an "ask a nurse" phone number we can call for medical related questions that is free of charge. You might check to see if you have anything like that in your area.

Yeah umm... if she wants the opinion of doctors and no hearsay, why isn't she asking her own doctor?
Here's my hearsay and guessing and speculation I'd imagine if she wants to change the time, she just picks a day and starts taking the pill at 7am instead of 2:30 am or whaever. And use condoms for a month or so after she makes the switch, just to be sure. Or something like that

She's currently at Oxford college in England. The student health program there is pretty much non-existent. The pills she got are from her dad (who's a doc, but they have a bad relationship). She doesn't want to bring up the issue with him.
I was mostly curious if anyone else had experience with this issue personally. Thanks for the link Forsaken. d: ) |
