'Thank you' date ideas?
Hey all,
I was just wondering if you might be able to help me pick out some ways to Thank my girlfreind. This past week has been very hectic(car accident, SATS, tons of homework, work problems Blah blah, etc... etc...) well i wanted to Thank you because she has been so supportive and just umm i dont just there for me. Anyhow i have a couple ideas but I feel they are a bit on the 'over used' or to common. . . Thanks for any suggestions! side note: It is always so easy for me to give freinds ideas, but when it comes to what I should do I seem to just go blank. . . |

without knowing her... it's hard... however what I'd like (and as high maintenance as I am, I'm pretty easy to please)
Cook me dinner, one of my favorites... You've known me long enough to know what I'd like. Meet me at the door with a glass of my favorite wine, and point me to a comfy chair where I can put my feet up, hand me a trashy girl magazine (Cosmo, Glamour, etc) while you disappear into the kitchen to put the finishing touches on dinner. Come join me with some munchies while dinner finishes and have a conversation, no telly, no outside distractions. Enjoy nice dinner where I don't have to help with the dinner. Oh and thank me and tell me that you appreciate me (that's the big one)

If cash is low just flowers and are really good, long thank you note will suffice. If I have learned anything about women it is that the little things are the ones that matter the most.
If you have cash flowing out your ears, send her (or go with) to someplace where she can relax and be pampered, like a spa. |

I didn't see SATs until now, I'm guessing you're still in high school... If you can go off campus for lunch -- pack a picnic lunch and take her somewhere special... and never underestiamte the power of a good note -- summer's right -- we're pretty much a bunch of saps.

jeez, I wrote up a post and everything, it must have not gone through.
my girl is a very picky eater, so I took note when I heard her raving about how good some food item was. a long time later, I made her this as a special suprise. all it took me was about $30 in ingrediants and a few hours of practice. she loved it |

Form my prospective the thing about a "Thank You Date" is that it should be all about the person being thanked. For that reason I could not suggest a date but I can give an example.
My wife loves Indian food I do not care for it so we almost never go for Indian (there are may foods we both like). A "Thank You Date" from me would be taking here to a nice Indian place. Now this is the important part at no point in the date or after would I bring up that I do not like Indian food I would also have looked at the menu ahead of time so she would not see me agonizing over it looking for the one thing I can eat. The night then becomes completely about her since I am saying thank you for being so selfless for me. So my suggestion is do something that your girl loves regardless of how you like it big and showy may not be the best focus on personal. |
