ok I'm new, so shoot me...

So I don't know where to post...but this seems relevant.

So there's this girl that I like. I met her in the beginning of August, and we've been pretty cool friends since. Well we're going to this party together (FYI--I don't want to just "do" this girl) and I told her that I liked her early this morning (approx. 2am on 9/26). So what should I do? She and I like the same kind of music and style, we both are into streching (ear lobes) and we seem to have alot in common. ANY advice would be appericiated. Thanks you

What interesting things to start a relationship off of. I think you should just get to know her more (personality wise) and just try to let her know how you feel at a better setting. Not that i know what I am talking about, just seems like a good thing to do.

Yeah. Music basically IS my life, so it's a big thing for me. I only said streching though because we just got some new plugs yesterday : ] Thank you very much Y2KDREAD!

Just don't rush it, bro. You say you're pretty cool friends, in theory that should make it easier to talk with her, but sometimes it can make it more difficult to try to move from the friendship category to the romantic side of things.

I can understand what you mean by the stretching and music being big common ground. I'm an artist, a musician, and I've got some big-ass lobes, so it's really nice for me to find girls that also share some form of those interests, as they can be very, very big parts of who you are.

It sounds like you have something good to start with. Common interests are very important and sometimes hard to find. Especially when your lifestyle is not what is considered as "normal". It took me a long time to find a rocker chick that appreciates the same music and style that I do. Someone who appreciates the darker things in life. Just continue to be yourself, get to know her better and things will naturally progress. Good luck, bro!

music is your life? you mean you live a musician's lifestyle? you studied music in school? or you are into the whole music scene going to clubs and venues watching the music at the edge...

Before anything, thank you very much for the help and support. Cynthetiq: Yes.
I study music (percussion) in school (I currently have 6th and 8th place world championship titles under my belt), and we are both interested in music such as The Killers, Linkin Park, and we like obscure bands from the Glasgow area. That should clarify some things : ]

I am not familiar with any intramural or competitive music championships... please tell me more about them.

I am a member of a percussion ensemble that travels across the nation, and competes in the circuit called WGI [winter guard international]. Their website is www.wgi.org
