Not to be judgmental, but you married a guy that won't even try to go down on you? I would think that unwillingness to try new things, or to please you would be a big hurdle to overcome. I've never known of a girl to not enjoy oral - once she's had it from someone who's decent at it.

The main thing I've heard is that some women are uncomfortable with their bodies to begin with, and putting your head between their legs is exposing their most private of parts to close scrutiny, so they don't like the idea at first. Once they get over that and break their "oral cherry" they typically enjoy it.

Another thing is, some women have probably had bad experiences with oral and therefore shun it - sorta like falling off the horse but NOT getting back on. Either way, patience is a virtue when dealing with women and oral, whether they love it or have some issues with it.

I guess I'm one of those rare women who can say that it isn't my favorite thing. A lot of the reasons have been mentioned here - having guys insist on doing it when I didn't really want them to, having dull and boring times with it, and having guys with little or no technique. Or at least technique that didn't work for me, since I might need something a little different than most.
