I'm curious as to how long people have been dating before they had sex.

Most of the girls i know have to date a long while before they feel comfortable having sex... I personally feel that sex can be enjoyed on a physical level and an emotional level. I prefer for it to be a hit on both levels. I like waiting until we're both comfortable. Around a month.

To be honest, I'd have to say at least a month. At times I wish I could be that guy who just picks girls up and screws them the same day, but I never have been. I'm not sure if I lack the confidance to make a move so soon, or if I just need to know the person a little better and feel comfortable with them. There was a girl once, several years ago, that I met and we had oral sex a day later. I was going to have sex with her the next day, but she backed out, telling me she was a virgin and she was afraid of getting pregnant. Since I had met her on vacation I never saw her again.

I think Will and I waited a week. But I was just so comfortable with him from the start that it wasn't really an issue and I felt like waiting any longer would just be waiting for the sake of waiting... I went with what felt natural.

With other boyfriends, it was never natural at all and I waited months before losing my virginity (technically) to my ex. And never had sex with my first boyfriend.
