Bourlesque Show
Hot daaayum i'm excited. I am going to the fucking Suicide Girls bourlesque (sp?) show on Wednesday night with a friend of mine from work... I've never been to one before and i'm absolutely stoked. Has anyone ever been to a show? What's it like? How long will it last? Particular etiquette, do's and don'ts?... YAY, thanks for any advice! *beaming smile*

I know one of the girls and I had a few friends go to a show. The girl seems to enjoy it, and the impression from my friends is that it starts out pretty "clean" and progressively gets less so. No bad reviews. I think the most important thing is to keep your hands off of them, as that will undoubtedly create lots of trouble and piss a lot of people off. Otherwise, just roll with it.

Never been to a Suicide Girls burlesque show, but I have seen the Fluffgirl Burlesque Society show. It was a mix of singing, saucy comedy, and strip teasing. The girls encouraged the crowd to hoot and holler, they even staged a dance contest for the audience, which my (unattractive male) friend placed second in. It was the most fun I've ever had without actually seeing nipples.

I've got several friends who do burlesque. Been to see quite a few shows. Like Rockzilla says, pretty tame stuff. Moderate nudity, cheezy music, bad comedy stuff like that. More of a variety/talent show with some sensual dancing. Maybe a SG show would be less tame, dunno.
Should last about 2 hours. Show the performers that you're having a good time by making a lot of noise. Catcalls and whisles will be appreciated... You probably won't get close enough to put your hands on anyone. It'll probably be held in some place theater like where you're in seats and they're up on stage, hopefully with a band cranking out the bump and grind hits. Have fun! |
