Exotic Condoms????

okay so I'm about to give birth, and we have to start thinking about birth control again. I hate pills, I'm too scared to get my tubes tied, I've heard bad things about some other options.

SO........condoms..........they are kind of boring, but I saw some that smell, taste, are ribbed. Do these make a difference?

Is it a nice difference, a difference for both him and her? Will this help him feel more?

Please help.........We don't want anymore children right now, but we want to spice up our sex life. Are these something we should look into?

Thanks,:)

Get the shot. If you can stand shots I hear they work well. Just keep them on the right schedual with the doctor and you'll be fine. I'm sure you you s.o. will enjoy that much more then a condom.

The shot and the patch are easier ways to go if you don't like the pill but I don't think they've been around as long as the pill and so less is known about said drugs. Just make sure that if you're going to be taking any kind of medicine that you research the drug as much as possible - I've heard really bad stories about people getting the shot at the wrong time and things of that sort...

From what I've found: When it comes to condoms - Durex is always the way to go. Trojan condoms are good but often too thick. Durex makes "Luscious Flavors" assorted flavored condoms - I have yet to try them but from what I've seen (or felt in this matter) Durex condoms are always a safe bet. If you do get bored with the scents and want something as close to nothing as possible but still provides excellent protection then I recommend you buy Durex "Avanti" super-thin condoms - they're amazing.

I've never tried any brands outside of Trojan and Durex but I hope I helped.

I have had the shot and it was horrible, the chemicals are too harsh on my body. Even the pill I had bad experiences. I am told that the patch releases the same amount of the same drug, so that probably would not be a good choice either.

I want a NON-chemical product for birth control, I know that it is probably not as effective but thats better than killing my body and my emotions.

Second vote for Durex Avanti. They are expensive, but good sex is worth it. Also, they aren't latex, so they don't have that nasty rubber smell. My wife likes the feeling of these much more than standard condoms.

Based on a recommendation, we tried the Trojan NaturaLamb 'lambskin' condoms. When they were recommended, I pictured in my mind a fuzzy thick lambskin leather something-or-other, not quite sure how they'd do it. I went ahead and bought a 12 pack to try them out. Not at all what I had pictured :-) I think they are actually made from some kind of thin intestine, and there are no seams, as well as no special 'head', they are just straight up tubes.

While the feeling is *the* most natural and almost unnoticable when 'doing it', the smell is kind of a turn off. They must have some kind of preservative in the lube (I bought the pre-lubed ones) that just isn't the best smell in the world.

While they must be great for anyone who is allergic to latex/rubber, we're not, so I've kind of stopped using them, just because of the smell. I'd almost rather have a less sensitive rubber than to have my sense of smell constantly assulted.

How's them for exotic? :-P

My GF had the shot and the chemicals messed with her system -- she was on her period for 3 months non stop. Since then she went to the pill. Try Durex studded or Trojan Ultra Thin

I had a gf who bought some glow-in-the-dark ones. What the hell is the point? You're just going to put it where the sun doesn't shine.

These Avanti ones, what are they actually made of? I have a latex allergy and always thought I'd have to use those lambskin ones or whatever.

They are polyurethane. There's also a Trojan non-latex. I get mine from the local supermarket (Stop & Shop), which has the best prices.

I'd say if you're going to use condoms, go with the ultralight ones. Other kinds work fine, but sometimes I find that I just can't feel anything. There's also a new form of birth control called the ring. The woman puts it inside her vagina and it releases the same kinds of chemicals as the pill but a much more regular pace so it's not as harsh on her body. My girlfriend has used it and really liked it. It doesn't interfer with sex or anything else, she says she doesn't even notice it. Sounds weird but works really well.

Don't use Trojan Supras! They are the Trojan equivalent of Durex Avantis, polyurethane. They are the only condoms to ever break on me, and they did so with disturbing consistency.

supafly 07-14-2004 09:05 AM

I like the thin Durex ones but i have ripped a few while having sex.

scrooloose 07-14-2004 09:07 AM

They also have a new heat activated condom that has some lotion that produces heat, from friction I am assming. Might wanna try those.
