her periods a few days late??
ok, my girlfriends period is a few days late... like 5 days i think.
the last time we had sex was about a month ago, like a week or so after her period ended. i completely made sure that the condom didnt break, im extremely careful. since then we have just fooled around, fingering, blowjobs whatever... so i dont think she could be pregnant. ontop of this, my girlfriend runs track and field and is very good at it and made it to the state championships for the like 10th time. well she got extremely sick right before it, and alls she could do is sleep, and she couldnt eat. she stiull continued to run like 3 miles a day during this and lost like 10 pounds. she still competed at states and was still very sick and couldnt eat much... and what i was thinking is that this sickness delayed her period?? she normally gets a little acne before her period and she is getting that now... so i just want to be safe. help please!! Thanks!! |

dramatic weight loss, physical stress (like working out), plus the worrying about it being delayed, can all cause her period to be delayed.
But, to be sure, there are over the counter pregnancy tests...

stressing can also extend the delay. if she is really worried, get an EPT. they claim to be accurate as soon as a day after her period is expected.
As maleficent and denim said, there could be other factors at work, and it's not always going to be exactly on time.

Athletes often have irregular periods, and stress and illness can definitely throw a wrench in the works. But just to be safe, an over the counter pregnancy test couldn't hurt. Good luck!

Hopefully she's not pregnant. I was once a month and a half late due to being sick and not being able eat followed by some sort of depression. I lost 15 lbs and so my period was a no show. Dramatic weightloss, still working out and not eating a lot can definitely throw the cycle off. I'd recommend getting a test as soon as possible to set both of your minds at ease.

My girlfriend was 2 weeks late a couple of months back. She wasn't worried...told me it happens once in a while. And low and behold it showed up. No worries.

Correctomundo... things like stress, illness and the moon can throw a girl's cycle out of wack. Drawing from my experience with girlfriends and ex-girlfriends... they can be up to week to week and a half late or early for that matter. If you're feeling anxiety better to know the truth (EPT) than to live in doubt.

She's probably fine. Illness, stress and all sorts of things can mess with a girl's cycle, either delaying or promoting a period. I had food poisoning recently, and the day after I recovered, SURPRISE! Wasn't due to start for another week. If you guys are that worried about it, have her take an OTC test. She should probably go to the doc anyways if she's still really sick.
