Why do I feel guilty about my dream!?

I've been in a relationship for a while now, 8 months on saturday, and I just had this dream last night where I kissed a girl that wasn't my girlfriend. She came on to me in the dream and I gave in, we kissed, then I remember stopping and saying "Im an asshole, i have a girlfriend already" then it was over. But in the dream i do remmeber the girl was some chick I saw at a concert a while back, yeah she was hot, but for some reason in my dream she had sharp teeth? Mabey that was my brain telling me other girls are evil - stick to your girlfriend. But anyways when i woke up this morning, and until now i keep thinking about the dream - i know it was a dream, but i feel guilty...I think this is prolly the first dream i had where i did anything remotley sexual with anyone other then my girlfriend. And the other thing about it is that i usualy dont remember my dreams.... Well i guess i prolly sound crazy, inexperianced, paranoid, or like a 14 year old...but yeh, why the hell is this bugging me?

Dream analysis is either right on -- or a complete load of hooey... your choice...

Some tidbits from your dream
Kissing a stranger: If you are kissing a stranger in your dream, it means that a short-lived affair will bring you nothing, but trouble

Teeth is a common theme in dreams, in some cases they represent the fidelity to self, the degree to which we support our decisions, respect our inner choices and remain true to what we love

You aren't crazy --paranoid, inexperienced or 14 -- relax -

it was only a dream....

Random firing of neurons. Electrical signals shooting in unpredictable patterns and being interpreted into images and sensations in realtime by the forebrain.

Dream analysis is, IMO, interesting in the same way that tarot reading is interesting--the symbols and images might provide you a tool for self-reflection and insight. But there's no "truth" to it.

Don't worry about it. Just a dream. You'll have more.

Dreams often reflect feelings that we are having in real life, so it can be insightful to analyze them. Try to remember to analyze the whole dream, not just the parts of it that worry you.

You feel guilty because you wonder if the dream somehow means something about your waking life - like, do you really want that other girl, should you feel bad because she was in your dream, etc.

I have to agree with my husband, though, that the dream is just random firings of neurons. If you're feeling guilty now, it might be just because you feel like you should feel guilty for dreaming about another woman, regardless of whether you told her to go away in your dream.

Your dreams are your business and you can dream anything you want without betraying anyone. Dreams provide a way for you to obtain your fantasies without having to cheat. As far as I am concerned I could dream every night that I assfucked the pope and my girlfriend would have no reason to get upset....even if I talked in my sleep.

That said, you even remained loyal to her in your dreams, which is very noble. Don't feel guilty.

As for thinking about cheating on your girlfriend....momentary consideration only makes your relationship stronger, because it forces you to value the relationship you are in. By facing temptation and turning away from it you affirm your desire to remain loyal to the person you are with.

I definitely wouldnt worry about it..

IMO your feeling of guilt is because the dream kiss felt good at the time - and of course it would! - our subconcious minds can conjure up the perfect dream girl/guy for all of us.

My point is, you didnt choose that dream and theres nothing wrong with you, your relationship or anything else.

Ratbastid did indeed speak the truth, it was just random neurons.
