When you lay/sleep with your SO, how do you get comfortable?
Whenever me and my girlfriend lay together, we always find it kinda difficult to get totally comfortable. One of us always has an arm that is just kinda there, and is rather akward and uncomfy. Soo, has anyone figured out a magical position to lay in?
(If this should be in Tilted Living, please just move it ) |

When spooning I tend to have one arm over her and the other one under her head. It works fine till we want to sleep. Normally all I can do it throw my arm out of whack, its painful and makes it so I can't sleep as well, but I think spooning is worth it.

loverboy and I always lie perfect in our couch..but that because of the couch itself and not a particular postition. But when we're spooning in bed we lie as Harshaw described it - that always works for us

The two positions that i can sleep in are:
Both facing the same direction, me behind her, top arm around, bottom arm under her pillow Me on back, her with head on my shoulder with arm around her, bottom arm either under me or tucked in, top arm around me I've never founda comfortable way to sleep facing eachother.

What size bed is it?
Spooning is always good. lurkette and I usually spoon on our left sides, with me on the left and her on the right (looking down from the ceiling). I usually wrap my right (top) arm around her waist, or hold her left breast. Sometimes I sneak my left (bottom) arm under her head and put my hand on her chest or her right breast. That works pretty good, but it gets warm after a while. I'm a radiator in bed. Butt-to-butt is pretty good too. Our problem is, lurkette's got the Jimmy Legs. She lays there and chases bunnies all night. We had to pony up for a king size bed, just so I could get far enough away from the action to get some sleep. |

We probably spoon like Harshaw said or I snuggle up behind hubby. I got this thing I do to tuck my lower arm, folded up against me that allows me to get nice and close.
I just can't stand sleeping all tangled up though. I'll eventually roll over on my tummy just beside hubby. Also he gets hot so quickly and I always have to have blankets so we just aren't compatable in that way.

Just like the girls in Xsas's picture, but move one of them up about a foot, so that the one (in my case, my wife) has her head under the other (me, in this case) - sorta looking into the neck area.
Doesn't work so well on the cold winter nights when you need the blankets pulled way up, but it means you can get pretty darn close and still be comfortable (and still breathe!). |

Oh snuggle!!! I love this thread already.
We lay like this: He lays on his back with his arm a little out like a chicken. And then I snuggle into his armpit (sorta), then put my head onto the chest area right above his armpit. And then he puts his arm around me, or just leave it there. AWWWWWWW. Sorry, I hope you understand my description. |

meh, I have the same problem, cept it then carries over into the fact that I toss and turn when I sleep.

My fiancee and I have been sleeping comfortably in a single bed for six months now
We either have both of us on our sides (if I'm behind her I'll put one arm under the little crook in her neck where it won't fall asleep and the other over the top of her, like I'm giving her a hug... she hasn't yet found a place to put her arm under me if I'm in front so she just tucks it up in between) or with my lying on my back and her on her side with her head on my chest. God I love it too... I'm glad we don't have a bigger bed, I just love falling asleep so close to her.

He has a twin bed so there is not much room to get super comfortable. I find it pretty comfortable when we spoon and he has one arm under my head and the other one laying across my waist. Or he lays on his back and i lay my head on his chest with one arm tucked against me. one over his chest and one leg thrown over his.

I start a fight so that she stops trying to lay on top of me and I can spread out and go to sleep.... lol
it's not quite like that.. I usually try and spread out which starts the fight.. i just cant sleep with somebody pressed against me... I dont mind snuggling when I'm awake.. but when it's sleep time get the fuck off me... I need my space.

Ever see that episode og friends, where Ross and Chandler discuss sleeping arrangements? That's me... Cuddle with GF's head on my chest, until GF is in sleep-mode, then hug, roll, disengage, lie on my own side of the bed, toss/turn for a while, become comatose, snoring, machine...

My fiance' and I like to snuggle when we first go to bed, usually face to face holding each other or with me on my back and her head on my chest. When it comes sleep time though we untangle and go to our seperate corners! At least until she falls asleep. In her sleeping life my dearest is apparantly a champion gymnast and she bounds around the bed utilizing all available space including the area I occupy. Once the weddings paid for I want a king sized bed! I'm a very sleepy man.

She usually falls asleep on my arm while I'm reading in bed or begging for sex. Then when the discomfort from my arm falling asleep becomes unbearable, I gnaw my arm off and go play video games.

BTW, I noticed some of the guys mention that they are generally warmer in bed than the ladies. Me, I'm a furnace but the girl is generally cold. Is this a common bed-time phenom.?
PS: Not trying to change to subject, just occured to me as a sleeping with SO comfort issue!

We usually only spoon for a little while and then move to our neutral corners when it comes time to actually sleep. I often come to bed after she falls asleep too because she has a difficult time falling asleep when I am in bed with her.
