Something I have needed to get off my chest

I myself at 27, struggle with my inner demons and have
actually moved through 3 different states (luckily I
have a job that alows me to do this). I now see that I
have been running from myself the entire time. I love
traveling with my job, but the main reason is now
visible to me. I am gay and have always been.
I have been with women to only to play the "act" and
keep to quote you the "image" that is expected of you.

Now I will have to rebuild my life and finally allow
myself to be happy with....well myself! It will be
hard because I have beaten myself up over
this for years and now it is time to come to terms
with who I really am and stop hiding out of fear and
rejection.

I just had to let that out! (no pun intended)

:)

Its great that you can finally accept it after all these years. This is the start of a new life for you, enjoy it !

filtherton 03-28-2004 09:13 AM

Congratulations on coming to terms. Hang in there until everything calms down.

RoboBlaster 03-28-2004 09:22 AM

Welcome to the club! Not that I'm in the club. And there really isn't a club in the first place. But if there was a club and if I was in it, I would definitely welcome you to it.

Anyway, congrats.

bermuDa 03-28-2004 10:49 AM

that is awesome that you can admit this to yourself and others :) we're all proud of you!!

animosity 03-28-2004 11:10 AM

analog 03-28-2004 12:55 PM

Always good to see that some personal reflection leads to positive things.

Congrats on your exploration, and the courage to share such a new part of yourself with us. Thank you very much. :)

03-28-2004 01:43 PM

good for you- u gotta take the hurdles before you reach your destination. :) I'm happy for you!

Silvy 03-28-2004 01:44 PM

Sometimes it takes a look at a curious past to see what has been the problem all along.

Many congratulations on your 'clarity'!
Posting this is a very good first step to accept this of yourself and be constructive about it!

Congrats!

StormBerlin 03-28-2004 04:41 PM

Yay and congratulations.

shannon 03-28-2004 04:43 PM

i wish you all the happiness in the world in your new ly found comfort. xoxo

SnotGoblin 03-28-2004 07:03 PM

Thank you all for the wonderful comments! It's nice to finally "say it" and b proud at the same time instead of thinking I was the underbelly of society. From now on, head on high, and proud of who I am.

Thanks again!

Seer666 03-28-2004 07:20 PM

Be yourself, live your life, and the hell with anyone that thinks otherwise. Long as you are doing what makes you happy, go for it. Never be ashamed of who and what you are. Congrates on breaking out of a life time of programing by the mindless masses. Takes nerves to look at yourself that honestly.

forkies 03-29-2004 01:06 AM

I feel for you man. One of the hardest parts can be admitting to yourself this part of you that was intentionally hidden for such a long time. I'm excited that you have decided to come clean with yourself & can begin to see who you really are. Take care, I wish you the best!

Losthjjd 03-29-2004 03:46 AM

Welcome to a small, yet largely misunderstood, segment of the population. Prepare to be judged. :p

GakFace 03-29-2004 07:11 PM

I say Sweet! Its always great come to terms with one's self and discover who they really are. Now may you finally find some one that fits you perfect. I wish you the best of luck.

Now, THAT was humorous.

The truth shall set you free....

I don't remember who said that..
but yea..

Derwood 04-01-2004 06:59 AM

It won't be easy, but know there are a lot of groups and organizations that will support you and help you through your newfound revelation.

Yakk 04-01-2004 08:11 AM

By choosing the path less traveled, you have improved the competition situation for men who like women.

So, on behalf of heterosexual men everywhere, good job, and thanks.

;-)

That would be Jesus. John 8:32.

I know posts like these are in jest, but I can't help but get the feeling that they also trivialize what the initial poster has gone through as if improving your chances with straight women is the only good thing to come of his struggles. :\

RenaissanceII 04-01-2004 11:03 AM

SnotGoblin, welcome to a new chapter of your journey!!! :)

I, too am on a like journey (Bi-amourous/versatile) but it's what is making you real. And if the acknowledgement for you is anything like mine was (and continues to be for me) the relief and indescribable joy that results is smething to behold.

Strange Famous 04-01-2004 02:21 PM

Hey, thats really cool to take the step you have done, and it is a big thing, even though in retrospect it looks like little, it does mean a lot... I hope things work out for you man.

Heh, I doubt he had even thought about the impact his decision would make in that context. If my post manages to convince him that the main effect is improving the male heterosexual competition situation... Well, he has bigger problems. =)

If he is offended by my jest, I'll apologize. If you are offended by my jest, I'll laugh.

Snot has just done a major life changing decision. I wish him the best along his new path. And I hope he got at least a chuckle from my earlier post.

I wasn't offended in the least! I thought it was humurous as well.
