Well I said (meant) when we dont have them, whether it be because too broke to buy or too lazy to obtain from health department etc, we have anal sex. Im not rationalizing excuses for not using them because I do use them, unless it's anal in which case they're pretty pointless :)

I completely disagree. The whole infection thing is a pretty good reason to use condoms for anal. (Read my previous posts.)

That's a dangerous falsehood. Even with a condom, there are several diseases that can be transmitted during sex. Bodily fluid exchange is pretty much guaranteed to occur if you romp around, and it's pretty safe to assume that anything she/he has, you'll get.

Just be safe. And get some condoms; they're free everywhere. Hospitals, health centers (especially college health centers), and high schools hand them out. If you declare that you want a condom, health professionals will make sure you get them.

You can also get free condoms shipped to you from the web.

I was just trying to stress a point of unprotected versus "safer" sex. What I meant to say was "Reduced chances of sharing communicable diseases," if you want to get into semantics. People actually need to worry more about misusing condoms than about the STIs that are communicable even with a condom on. Either way, it's pretty pointless to be nitpicking this since the person doesn't use them for anal. He might as well not use them at all because it's that pointless.

His logic: I'll use a condom for vaginal sex, but not anal because it's pointless.

This is similar to his logic: I'll use a condom for anal sex, but I'll rub my open wound against hers because it's pointless.

Well I use them for vaginal sex to reduce the chances of having children. Im not worried about STD's while having anal sex because it's with my fiance.

I think I've explained this on a different thread, but if condoms are your only form of birth control...

about the whole bacteria thing:
your more likely to get some kind of infection from a bj than from anal sex, just simply due to the amount of pathogenic bacteria present there.
yes, the anus does have an insane amount of bacteria in it, but most of those are just mooching around feeding off bits of food and what not in your gut, and arn't to be fussed about. granted, there are some bad guys in there, but a good wash before/after should help sort things out.

as for getting pregnant from anal sex, theres a chance a girl could get pregnant from oral sex if she had an itch, it's all relative.

the bacteria in the intestine is opportunistic. it's harmless when left to its own devices. anal sex creates microscopic abrasions that give the bacteria an opportunity to go to town.

could somone elaborate on the differences of Astroglide & ID, I see plenty of folks suggesting them both.

Is it all down to a preference thing, or does one better suite certain situations. I always figured thier all the same, so what ever is cheapest so long as its waterbased.
