What do you do for love?

(Mods--I vaguely remember an old thread something like this, but I couldn't find it. Please merge if that's appropriate.)

Here I am watching E!'s Golden Globes fashion dissection show. Enjoying the fine, high-class humor of Joan Rivers and her coat-tail-riding daughter Melissa.

We're discussing Sarah Jessica Parker's custom-made dress ("She looks like a confection!" gushes the ambiguously-oriented fashion expert).

Why am I watching this? Because my wonderful, beautiful wife wants to.

Oy.

What have you done because the person you love wanted to?

absence_of_color 01-26-2004 08:32 PM

Thats so sweet.

Me? Sports events. I hate sports.
Oh, yeah, and, um...anal.

Averett 01-26-2004 08:36 PM

I would do anyting for love, but I won't do that :D

Sorry, I'm just being silly

SparklingDot 01-26-2004 08:48 PM

My SO is going to a wedding with me on Valentine's Day.

orangeaidcow 01-26-2004 09:04 PM

Meatloaf! What a name! haha. Even with love, my ass is off limits :P

CinnamonGirl 01-27-2004 01:33 AM

I said yes, and then moved thousands of miles away from my family...

And, um...anal. heh.

analog 01-27-2004 03:26 AM

I would watch Golden Girls, Designing Women, and various other Lifetime programming. Made me sick, but i'd sit there and just hold her. I loved her, though... still do. :(

Oh, and um... giving anal. ;)

absorbentishe 01-27-2004 06:26 AM

Early in our relationship, I sort of didn't play golf for a year due to her? Does that count. We were spending every waking moment together, totally blew my friends off (regret that now). But we've been married for 8 years now. I was a 2 handicap at that time. Damn, miss those days.

StephenSa 01-27-2004 08:24 AM

Moved to the suburbs. Ugh.

Sho Nuff 01-27-2004 08:27 AM

I left a sex fiend with a perfect body for my soulmate

aintyoboyfriend 01-27-2004 08:31 AM

Right now, nothing, cause I am single.

In the past I have done things like go to plays and movies I had no desire to see, attend parties I didn't want to go to, and other such activities.

for the right person, I would do just about anything (within reason).

What do I do? I just put my heart out there less than 8 hours ago. Now it's up to her.

What would I do? Give up any chance of a tropical climate.

In a heartbeat.

housedude 01-27-2004 09:38 AM

I watched a Soap Opera four or five times.....but even love has limits!

jay-g 01-27-2004 10:53 AM

:)

skysooner 01-27-2004 11:05 AM

I took her to the Nutcracker at Christmas.

numist 01-27-2004 11:14 AM

I stayed at her place when she couldnt visit and lived for a few days under her mother...

What would I do? Anything. I already made my devotion clear, she is my first priority in life.

synic213 01-27-2004 11:16 AM

I sat through an entire broadway performance of Fiddler On The Roof, and then had to go home and watch Queer Eye. Love has no bounds.:icare:

Andy 01-27-2004 11:40 AM

I once went to an Eric Clapton concert! Where's the "puke" smiley when you need it?

Ugh, I don't think I'd do anything anymore. Not worth it. ;)

*Nikki* 01-27-2004 02:50 PM

Anything:)

If I truely love him (which I do) there is nothing I wouldn't do.

As long as it's legal.

Fiddler on the Roof and Queer Eye in one day! My god, what have you done? There's a lot I have done/will do, but Queer Eye is one that I would not do. I'd rather watch the same soap opera for 10 years than Queer Eye, even once.

I moved from california to missouri for my wife who was my fiance at the time. Of course it didn't work out there so we moved back to california.

Now that you mention it, I moved to North Carolina for love. I had no reason for coming here except that lurkette was headed to grad school at UNC.

You know you like NC. :) I hear it smells like tobacco if you come in from out of state.

Jephree 01-28-2004 05:20 PM

Nothing, be myself

Unga 01-28-2004 06:29 PM

wait and wait and wait :P
hehe but it's all good :)

lurkette 01-29-2004 06:18 AM

I'm a lucky, lucky girl. :D

I watch shows about video games I'll never want to play. I cooked meat for him while I was a vegetarian. And then there are all the bedroom things, and he knows what I'm talking about ;)

Yes I do.

Vaultboy 01-29-2004 10:28 AM

I would do everything and anything she could reasonably ask me too. Which is an oximoron. Since love is supposedly irrational.

mb99usa 01-29-2004 10:33 AM

Whatever she wants. I can't think of the last time I said "no" to her and meant it. I say it now and again sarcastically just to make sure I still know how.
