What do you get a guy for Valentines Day

I'm really lost in what to get my boyfriend for Valentines Day..does anyone have any ideas?

LittleOralAnnie 01-26-2004 08:15 AM

I have a special someone that I'd like to buy for but I have the same dillema as you do. I'll ask around and see if I can scrape up some ideas.

Pragma 01-26-2004 08:16 AM

Well, the obvious answer is sex/sex-related (such as buying lingerie and modelling it for him, etc.).

Other than that, I'm not too good at thinking up stuff like this.

Just being with him should be enough, but if you really want to buy something, how about some strawberries and whipped cream? :D

ok the lingerie idea isn't bad either...

does it have to be sex related? I've never gotten anything on v-day...

Slims 01-26-2004 09:12 AM

Sex

SpoilSport 01-26-2004 09:23 AM

sorry, but BJ popped into my head as soon as I saw the title of this thread.

aintyoboyfriend 01-26-2004 09:27 AM

Guys pretty much go for sex-related stuff.

If you don't want to go the sex route, don't do anything too sappy, but maybe a night out on you, or even a night in with some movies that he likes.

tenchi069 01-26-2004 09:34 AM

Doesn't necessarily have to be sex, but as a guy I can say all I want for any holiday is for my SO to spend time with me. Doesn't necessarily make it different from any other day, <insert sappy hollywood music> but time spent with her is worth celebrating.

Ditto.

analog 01-26-2004 11:52 AM

Whatever you don't normally give in bed. Don't usually give head, NOW's the time! lol... but really, fuck his brains out. Give him a dance, soemthing elaborate and erotic he doesn't usually get in your normal everyday sexcapade.

Schoolgirl outfit tends to be fairly popular. ;)

ratbastid 01-26-2004 01:12 PM

Why kid ourselves. Valentine's Day was made for and is still targetted toward women. It's the one day of the year that even the most boorish troglodite of a boyfriend has to come up with SOMETHING to make his girl feels special.

Why try to shoehorn something for him into the deal? That's why <a href="http://www.terminalbraindrain.com/archives/000196.php">THIS WONDERFUL HOLIDAY</a> was created: to fight the gender injustice inherant in Valentines Day.

Strange Famous 01-26-2004 01:24 PM

Car parts. We want things that smell nice and are thoughtful, they want sex and parts to make their cars go faster.

Trish, is that you?

01-26-2004 01:42 PM

I've been scrolling through this thread looking for an OriginalKing reponse like "ANAL" but havent' seen any.

Anyways - I don't expect anything for v-day, but I'd say just doing something out of the ordinary (in bed or otherwise) would do just fine.

Averett 01-26-2004 02:43 PM

Last year my friend was looking forward to Valentines Day for 2 reasons.

Blow job

and

Steak dinner

Mango 01-26-2004 02:51 PM

My first reaction was steak dinner, blowbob & beer.

blade02 01-26-2004 02:59 PM

I'd love it if my girl got me car parts....but only if she took the time to discuss with me exactly what parts I want / need.

Sex is nice but when we get a chance its pretty wild anyways, so Im hoping for something either fun or useful along with the good sex we always have.

Harshaw 01-26-2004 03:08 PM

I like the night out on you idea. Especially if he does a lot of the planning. I think other than that, V day for guys is more of a it the thought that counts sort of day.

Plus, lots and lots of sex.

World's King 01-26-2004 04:18 PM

Tools and porn.

HockeyGuy 01-26-2004 04:29 PM

I have to say a dinenr sounds good, or something they can actaully use. I personally don't expect anything (except for some time together etc.) but to her the lot =D Time for brownie points

crony 01-26-2004 04:51 PM

You can never go wrong with a giftcard to BestBuy.

Presents aren't really necessary, I've always been more of the giving type of guy. I do think that one of the best gifts that I could receive is a night alone with that special someone, just time to ourselves to enjoy each other and to be with each other. Now I do know that some women still want to be able to give a gift of some sort just because they feel badly about receiving extravagant gifts and not having anything to give in return. If a gift is a must then I do agree the sexy lingerie is always a good idea, or obvioulsy if the guy is into his car, then car parts. Just ladies, I can't stress this enough! if you're gonna buy him car parts, make sure you know enough about his car to do so, make, model, engine, year, because you get him the wrong part, and he just takes your word for it that it fits, it may end up being really really bad for the car....

HAHA!!! He'd prolly fall on his knees and propose right there and then!

Let's see, I was dating a guy once and I got him a set of Xenon (halogen) headlights. And everyone thought that I was this freakish girlfriend that bought headlights for her boyfriend for VALENTINE'S DAY (all the girls thought that...)! But long story short, he loved them, said that it was a great gift, and that it was just what he wanted! All the guys said that they wished that they would have had a girl like me for V-day!:)

So my advice is to get him some something car related... all guys love thier cars, and love to modify them!;)

mattevil 01-26-2004 09:34 PM

a bj ohhhhhhhhh!
/sorry for the dice refrence
but yeah sex(maybe with some new lingerie) is a good thing no kiddin.

omega2K4 01-26-2004 10:37 PM

Good 'ol blowjobs for Valentine's Day never hurt anyone.

Unga 01-27-2004 12:50 AM

I got a non-mushy guy. I don't even have to think about it but then again, we've never actually had the chance to spend a v-day together

kulrblind 01-27-2004 05:25 AM

If you're not going the sensual/sex route, opt for something that's useful. Guys like me have a tendancy to really not find much value in something that isn't immediately useful, or something that takes up space (except tools; they don't count).

Exactly...cute is nice for like a moment...then its destined to sit in the closest and maybe come out if you're coming over. Something useful is always the best.

What if you already give him all of that on a regular basis??

Harshaw 01-27-2004 11:34 PM

Then he is lucky enough and doesn't desirve a V-day gift. :)

bonehed1 01-28-2004 09:41 AM

My wife gets me tickets to a movie or a lakers game for valentines and that is enough for me.......she don't do the sex related stuff on valentines...dont know why

Holo 01-28-2004 11:21 AM

Sex.

But not just sex...do something new, maybe something he wants to do or you want to do with him for the first time. It can be anything, but make sure no matter what it is it involved mutual orgasms, and hopefully more than one.

If no sex then I'd like a 8x dual-format DVD burner. :D

i agree, and I second the whole porn thing, that is, if sex/oral is out of the question... ;)

EruptiveDreamz 01-28-2004 02:09 PM

Tools.. most men I have known are tool freaks. Get them a tool and they are happy for a whole entire day till it's time to fix the things you had in mind when you bought the tool originally. So know that it doesn't work phsycologically. But to gain a smile for a whole 24 hours it has worked for me in past experinces. Altho I guess sex does the same thing only buying a tool has benifits cause at least it's there when you decide to fix the what not handyman list for him.

BCD 01-28-2004 02:45 PM

Based on another recent thread, I suggest that you consider letting your boyfriend pee on you. It appears that for some (perhaps your b/f) this is considered a special little treat.

My suggestion is couched in the assumption that you have dated long enough that it is now acceptable to begin peeing on each other. Check out the "peeing on girlfriend" thread to determine how long that might be. Nothing says romance like showering your loved one w/ urine on St. Valentine's Day.

sillygirl 01-28-2004 02:56 PM

 OMFG

denim 01-28-2004 03:17 PM

If you can give him a really good full body massage and he can return it, I'd think you'd both be all set. Just costs time, and it's fun.

(edit) I have a "thing" about massages. Love 'em, both ways.

Alyssa 02-09-2004 12:18 AM

New socks!

thedrake 02-09-2004 11:12 AM

AGREE, full body (NAKED) massage, and make love after, it is great foreplay!

annie1 02-09-2004 03:58 PM

concert tickets are a good thing as a gift...

gorilla 02-09-2004 06:12 PM

12 pack of condoms and some Red Bulls

sapiens 02-09-2004 07:27 PM

If not sex, some form of physical intimacy is nice. If not that, maybe a gift reflecting his interests. I could go for a good guinness, a cigar, and sexual intimacy. (Of course, the door to sexual intimacy will be shut if I smoke a cigar).

phlox 02-10-2004 06:48 PM

nothing.

kittenpie 02-12-2004 06:19 AM

two tickets to paris...my treat! just booked them for march. can't wait to see the look on his face valentine's day. well, hopefully i won't be able to see his face as i imagine it will be buried deep in my stuff...giving thanks and all! happy v-day everyone!

toxic515 02-12-2004 06:00 PM

I helped one of the girls at the office today with that... Got him a couple of gift cards for Napster so he could download some songs, and then got a basket that she filled with valentines day cards (the cheap kids kind) and dated each one for a different year. (to demonstrate that she intended to be with him forever and all) and some bath stuff, some chocolates, some champagne, champagne flutes with hearts as the stem, and a couple of "lottery" cards from the local sex-toy shop that had different "favours" depending on what he scratched off.... And a picture of them together in a nice heart shaped frame. total cost was less than $70 and that was with like 20 songs and some FAIRLY good champagne.

for me, my wife got another piercing that I wanted her to get, so it all depends.

intecel 02-14-2004 10:22 AM

BJ all the way lol...

Valentines day is not for the men. I'm happy when I don't get anything. Usually feels a little awkward when a girl buys a teddy bear or some crap for you that you know you have to keep somewhere in your room for the rest of your life :)

Key note to women - Valentines day is a day for the women... Superbowl Sunday is the day of the year for the men :)

datroyenschwart 02-14-2004 12:42 PM

A blow job. Plain and simple.

FishKing 02-14-2004 01:38 PM

Based on another recent thread, I suggest that you consider letting your boyfriend pee on you. It appears that for some (perhaps your b/f) this is considered a special little treat

This is sick.

A blow job works fine followed by an hour of pure sex, then a beer and steak dinner.

My girlfriend got me a cake pan and a some new boxers. I like them both very much.

I'm still hoping for sex later.

Blackthorn 02-15-2004 05:29 AM

Buy a six pack of a premuim or exotic micro brew and take it over to his place naked. I like the visual of the trench coat and heels....:) You naked will pretty much work for him.

Heh, I keep hoping, but another V-day's down. Hmmm fingers crossed for my B-Day in July.

She did get me some liquor filled chocolates. Pretty cool, Jack Daniels, Kalua, Southern Comfort. She LOVES me.
