Just a thought
 

I was thinking about something a mate of mine said to me, he said:

"Ever since I broke up with my ex and saw her with another guy, he had like influence on her? The way she spoke, the music she was (trying out) or listening to etc"

Like she didn't really like his sort of music, except for some of it.

And this guy liked the same sort of music as him, but just dif bands and he saw her and she was like listening to the sort of music, she said she never liked only a few "of this bands music" and a few of "that bands music" etc

I guess it is true, you have major influence on your partner?

I HATED country music until my GF my senior year changed that.

Now it is officially added to my list of music loves (everything but techno... and nelly ugh), and I can two-step with the best of them.

It was something as simple as when she'd ride in my truck I'd be the gentileman and let her listen to the music she liked... and it just grew on me.

Yeah, we do influence those we care about, and vise versa.

I cured my wife of country music back when we were first dating. She still doesn't like my music, but it was still a victory.

Hehe, no she's not cured. She just doesnt listen to it infront of you.

I've noticed that since I've been dating my current bf, I've started to listen to some of his stuff. But I mean, it wasn't necessarily stuff that I didn't like before, it was just stuff that maybe I didn't know much about before.

I've also adopted some of his phrases, and he's done the same. When you spend that much time with someone, it happens, ya know? :)

Absolutely, the people we love influence our lives, for better or worse.

I've noticed the same things with a few of my ex's. Kind of makes me angry to see it, but then I remember that I broke up with them. I however noticed that I took a liking to a lot of the things my last girlfriend enjoyed simply because I was with her and she enjoyed it. I learned to enjoy myself so that we could share that with each other.

My husband has certainly influenced my tastes very heavily. Everything from books, to music, to movies, to games.

I got my X-fiance to like hip-hop.


At least that's what she told me. I never did believe her.
