Olrighty! First off let me say that I'm slightlye intoxicateed!

Thatbeing said, I need help. I'm a puss! I'm the little bunny rabbit cowering in the corner, but I got these big shiny claws and I don;t know how to use 'em.

Anyway, so I'm out with some friends tonite and we end up going to theis place called O'Malley's, I knew quite a few people that go there and work there and it was kidn of a lame nite since it was so cold, not a lot of people were out. Well, I see this girl playing pool woith some dude and, sufficed to say I was "smitten!" After a while, I guess it becasme obvious that I was gawking since one of my friends said something. I know she didn;t notice because the place was packed and she never even looked our way, but still. After about a half hour I could tell she was very coordinated, possibly an athlete of some sort, from the way she walked. Seh didn;t smoke. She was drinking water the whole time. (I normally don;t drink either, but I've been dealingwith some shit and that is why my frineds took me out---4 shots of jager and a cou[ple of SoCo's and I'm blitzed). Seh was talking to people left and right and smiling constantly! I mean, I think she was smiling the whole time we were there! She had an awesome smile that incorporated her whole face! Her eyes smiled, she had a dimple on her left cheek, and it was a full teeath smile! Well, my friedns keep raggin' me to talk to her. Usually I don't have any problems, since I'm kinda outgoign, but I was totally intimidated! I mean really intimidateed! I talked to a couple of people and found out she has been there quiote a bit the last 2 weeks, and she goes to college here in town, so I may run into her again. But tonite I choked. My testicles shirveld up and I didn';t do a damn thing. She was even on the dance floor about 3 feet in front of me later when I was asking the DJ about her and I didn't do anything. I would have thought may be the acholocic couragte would ahve kicked in, but didn't.

I thinkk I,'m gonna go to bed and forget about it..

Next time you should be out into the situation with a little giggle thing in front of you... step up and say "Hi." Now, I will admit that it's alot easier said then done but one day it will come to you.

I have to agree with what others have posted. Just summon all your courage and introduce yourself.

BUT, if you go out and anticipate running into her and making your introduction, stay sober! Don't end up looking like another drunk person who's trying to hook up with her.

I'll be honest, most of the time when I 'hooked' up with someone I was at least buzzed and they were all sober. It wasn't like I was looking for liquid courage, I just happened to be drinking. Luckily only ONCE was it a beer goggle situation (unclean, unclean!) and the rest were all pretty cute. I even married one of them, and we have been together now for 12 years.

Being stupid drunk of course won't help you, but one thing women want is confidence and a lack of desperation. They won't tell you this but they don't want the nice guy, who OBVIOUSLY wants them. They want the guy who acts like he could take them or leave them. By the time I figured this out, I went from dating now and then with nothing serious to dating 4 girls at once (and ended up marrying one of them). Women are not hard to understand as long as you do what they really want and not what they say they really want :)

Asking her and getting rejected probably wont make you feel as bad as you do right now *or then* so next time you see her talk to her, if she's taken so be it, if not, you might end up smiling like her too...

I wouldn't feel bad about it. Au contraire, I think you should feel relatively lucky that you didn't talk to her since you were obviously very, very drunk and might have ended up making a fool out of yourself, and naught else. At least you haven't blown it, so track her down and see where you can take it.

Nothing to lose by talking..if she chose not to talk back that's the same exact boat you're in right now.

Dont feel sorry for yourself, it takes balls to talk to a woman, the hotter they are the bigger the balls it takes.

Dont be wasted when you talk to her, if she was drinking water it means she was probably the DD, they are actually easy to get numbers because while all of her friends are drunk she's still sober... and itching for attention. BUT it means you cant be trashed, you have to be sober enough to match whits, or at least carry on an interesting conversation.

If she was playing pool just challenge her to a game, not that difficult, and if you suck (like I do) just make it fun. Crack jokes, ask her questions about herself, and she'll laugh as well as she's kickin your butt.

I think Confucius said that once.

Don't forget to ask her if she can give you some pointers. Make sure you hold your arm wrong so she has to stand behind you and lean over you to guide your motions. :)

Phanex, that's usally what I do. I'm pretty straight forward and have found that trying to come up with a clever pickup line is a waste of energy.

Plan9, I started reading your thread. Very interesting, most of that stuff makes perfect sense. I'll have to get more in depth when I have more time, It looks like there's been an awful lot of conversation going on there.

Anyway, I'll might see this chick again this weekend and we'll see how things go. For some reason she just totally blew my defenses and everything. She wasn't drop dead gorgeous or anything, but she was good looking and she just had this "thing" going.
