You may indeed. I saw a guy walk up to a girl place his hand on the inside of her thigh right where it meets her waist, run his hand slowly down to her ankle, and pronounce "That's all it takes." It was at that point that I started drinking heavily enough to red out.

As for how I announce that I'm in the mood, I told my girlfriend that I am always in the mood, 24/7 for her, and that she need only make the smallest of gestures and I will comply. Which she takes a lot of advantage of. For my part, I sometimes whisper in her ear that I want to make love, and other times I pin her to the floor out of the blue and just start taking her clothes off. It all depends on where your mutual comfort level is at.

A combination of words and actions. We usually do a lot of foreplay even before we hit the bedroom (mainly touching throughout dinner, etc.) that really heats up the mood and then when the time is right one of us suggests we move elsewhere (away from the kids).

Personally, I usually will quietly stroll up behind my SO (when I have one), wrap one arm around her waist while I brush the hair away from her neck, and lay gentle, teasing kisses along her most enjoyable areas. By the time I'm up to kiss number 3 or 4, she's usually very aware....and ready for "go time" as well.

We worked out a great system of signals, for when we go to bed at night.

I told her, "Honey, if you want to have sex, pull my penis once. If you don't, pull it 100 times."

My visits with my SO are few and far between, so when we are together, it's almost a given that there's going to be some lovey-lovey time. Not that its devoid of anticipation. Hard to describe...we just sort of fall into each other and it's go time.
