I'll jump in from a male perspective. Hell yeah, we all knew it was platonic. Lap sitting, hugging, standing arm-in-arm, backrubs. We were a close circle of friends in college, but we were just casual friendly with each other. I was dating the same girl the whole way through college (now my wife), and neither of us had a problem with casual friendliness. Sex with friends would have been a whole 'nother matter.

Many of my friends and I are the exact same way... and if any of them have gotten wood while I'm there, they sure hide it well.

I remember one time me and a group of friends were sitting around smoking/drinking and one girl (kind of a huge slut... not that it really matters I guess) was sitting on my asshole friend's lap.
