Shoes don't count! (strip poker)
basically i'll just give a quick recap before i get to my quesiton
If you're not interested in the story, which will probably be long just skip to the important questions at the bottom Last night i was lucky enoungh to be involved ina game of strip poker, unfortuantly with 2 other guys, but also with 3 other girls That said, it's always very tame whenever we play it (only downt to undies, maybe someone will take something off if quite drunk). There was a couple there and i don't think the boyfriend wanted us 2 other guys to see his girlfriend naked I didn't really know the other 2 guys very well anyway.... Also, i don't actually know the rules of strip poker, although we basiaclly just had some fake money or something and you just sell bits of your clothes whenever you're out of money. I imagine that's how it's done for most amatuer strip poker nights, i am not really an expert here Straight away i knew i'd be in trouble cause i only had a shirt, shorts and undies. Luckily i was wearing undies (i am commando most of the time), since i've learned that whenever i am drinking, i need to wear undies, otherwise bad things may happen. From the title you can probably imagine what happened. Everyone else was still wearing shoes, whilst i took my off beforehand. They also had socks on as well So due to my shit poker skills and luck i guess, in about 20 minutes i was down to my undies and everyone else had just basically taken their shoes and socks off. Fortunatley the shoes had a cheaper determined price, although they should still not count! I was mainly pissed off cause the girls tried using jewlery and other crap they had on as clothing, whilst i was there about to be shed of my undies Although i was probably game to, the other guys didn't want me to take off my undies in the end. I was definitely drunk enough, although i remeber it quite clearly as well. But this worked to my disadvantage in the end, because the girl where then relucatnat to take off their bra's. Oh well Nevertheless, after they removed there shirts and pants, i had to lay on my stomach This other guy who must've been cheating or something still had his shirt and pants on in the end? but that was probably a good thing for me So yeah, we've played in the past, on previous tiomes, people have gotten more naked. Mainly boobies Although we've always run into issues of what constitues clothing to be removed. We agreed on that the girls shouldn't be able to remove jewlery and crap like that, although i got out voted on the shoes deal. Even if i had shoes on i wouldn't wan them to count, so shoes should be voluntarily removed before playing, cause no one wants to be naked with shoes on, that's weird? QUESTIONS So, if you were playing strip poker or other similar games, should shoes count? To me, feet aren't important, maybe if you have a foot fetish or something, but generally feet aren't imporant so shoes shouldn't count! ok, i think that's it |

Shoes definitely shouldn't count -- there's a reason why you're playing strip poker as opposed to another flavor of poker. That reason is not to see people's exposed socks. To count footwear and other things that do not conceal skin serves only to slow the pace of the game. I'm all opposed to that, unless you need a lot of time to get drunk or something.
You need to establish this before you start, of course. |

I'd say shoes don't count. Most of the time when I go to friends houses I take my shoes off right away..
Oh, can I be invited next time Sleepjack?

I've only played once, and we didn't get all the way through the game before the clothes came off (Strip Gin, I suck at poker). But if I were to ever play for real, shoes shouldn't count. I think basic clothing like shirt, pants and underthings. The point of the game is to see flesh, lots of flesh!

It has been my understanding that all ground rules are established beforehand, and usually all of the participants start at equal positions. If someone is wearing shoes and socks, they don't get more to bet with than someone with just shoes. But in any drinking/stripping game, there are always house rules and that is all that matters.

Shoes never count. It's also not strip poker if you are leaving any kind of clothes on.
Play right or don't play at all.

i would rather keep my shoes and socks on, even if the rest of me is naked. call it paranoia, but i don't want to invite the possibility of someone smelling my smelly socks.
i say they don't count and you have the option to keep them on or not. but also, i've never played strip poker.

Well i had my shoes (not on at the time though) and all, and they even asked me if i wanted to put them back on, but i declined as making a statement to my disgust at the decision to include shoes in the game. The rules were disscussed before the game, it wasn't suddenly sprung on me, i was just pissed off at the time. Hats and jewelery and all the other stuff, shouldn't really count either. They're accessories, not clothing.
JUst an example. If you were going shopping for shoes, you'd say you're going shoe shopping. If you're going shopping for a top, shirt, pants, undies and so forth, you'd say clothes shopping. If you're going for a hat or jewelery, youd probably specifically say you're gonna buy them. So clothes should only include what you'd shop for, if you're going clothes shopping. Otherwise it doens't make sense i am just scrapping the barrell for some justification |

no shoes dont count and the couple of times that we have played strip poker we would stop at our undies then once the game was over we would do a nudey run somewhere ie down the street, around the house etc. quite good and funny at the time. almost got busted a couple of times too.

we usually make it so where all the people have the sam number of clothing articles --this way someone doesnt have like a tousand rings on or something--it keeps the game fair and interesting

I would tend to say that shoes DON'T count, only because the only times I've been in a situation like that (truth or dare), the girls tried to say that their shoes would suffice, and weren't planning on exposing any real skin.
However, once shoes were ruled out, it was only a matter of time before the girl was down to nothing but a thong.

basically, we played the other night - 3 guys 3 girls. everyone got really wasted, i barely remember the game. in LA nobody wears shoes anyway, so its never been a problem. But one rule we instituted was the girl who still had any clothes on at the end had to go around and make out with everyone - guys and girls. Wild night!

Everyone should have equal clothing. If not everyone is wearing shoes they automatically don't count, same with jewelry, belts and socks. It's up to the players to decide if the count or not if everyone does have those acessories on. I prefer for them not to count because it's not about poker, it's about getting naked.

The definitive source online: http://www.pagat.com/vying/strip_poker.html
It also mentions different styles... I prefer truth/dare strip poker (especially when liqour is involved ) |

its quite simple. the same way jewellery, glasses and contact lenses (yes, i once played with a girl who wanted to remove her contact lenses, 1 at a time) dont count, neither do shoes or socks.
this whole "buying" extra money with clothes idea is also peculiar to me, i must say. i've only ever played that at the end of a round, the person with the worst hand (or first to fold, if people have) lose an item. makes the game much faster, and more fun, i reckon. i do however, disagree with the person who said all should start equal. its much more fun if one person end up screwed (sometimes literally, but thats another story) |

Shoes count *ONLY* in the absence of socks.
Shoes/socks (one for each foot), one article of jewelry (watches count as jewelry), shirt/blouse, pants/skirt, bra/briefs/boxers, panties. Yes, women get one more article, but then you want to see us naked a helluva lot more than we want to see you naked.
