What sweet name do you reserve for your special GF / Wife?

Personally, Im just looking at idea's here, I know it should come natural but I have no idea what to call my GF and she always has all these sweet names for me ;)

I always call any girl I'm with "baby" so that I never call her the ex's name by accident. Am I a bastard?

Babe, honey, sweetheart, love, hon.. Those are the ones I use most often.... "woman" is fun too, but she doesn't take as kindly to that. :)

I find chigums works well..... as saying it sticks with the Korean way......

I tend to call my wife "Chica" which is technically short for Chica mas fina bonita en todos los mundos - a name I came up with while we were really drunk in Mexico. I have found that these sort of things just develop over time. I have also found that it is good to ask if your "sweet name" is something she likes. An old girlfriend hated to be called babe or honey and I didn't find out until she blew up at me one night.

Thats so sweet... btw, it's "The most beautiful girl in [all] the world" (pretty much, unless he meant "The finest, most beautiful...", because some people use it for that) for those who don't speak the Spanish.

Um, I called her baby or babydoll, but only sparingly, and only in certain situations, but mostly it's just sweety.

my g/f is Japanese so I made a japanese variation of her name. Took the first part of her name and added chi at the end.

'Hitomi' - mi + chi = 'Hitochi'

I'm not sure what it implies, but my g/f likes it and always smiles when I call her that.

Haha. I don't have ANY sweet names for her, unless I'm trying to antagonize her, which is always fun. In which case: cupcake, sugarpie, missy kissy wissy poo.

To me baby, sweetheart all that nonsense is another way to infantalise your partner. Just gives me the creeps.

Yeah :D Which is why pet names become good weapons in the hands of people like my extremely cynical girlfriend and my extremely cynical me.

I forgot... I call mine bupkis too, just because, its cute and funny, just like her.

You dont have to love your nickname, as long as it doesnt really bother you and its good for a laugh at any time.

Lebell calls me darling and I melt every time I hear it because I know he means it in the most loving way possible! We are also big on using each other's real names, sweetheart, honey (although not nearly as often as it still reminds me of my ex) and baby.

for now i just use the stereotypical baby and other stuff....im working on a nickname just for her...but her name is hard to work with, and i dont want to use stuff anyone else has.

Wife calls me noodlehead...don't know why.

Babe, Pookie or wifeee

Not really what the original poster was asking, but I call most of my good female friends "Munchkin", which doesn't sit well immediately with the petite ones, but after a quick explanation it seems to be well-liked.

I'd probably extend that moniker over to a girlfriend if I had one, but alas I don't :)

My ex-girlfriend, Dee, was usually Deedlit.

I have a bit of a Scarlett O'Hara complex, so I call everyone "dahlin". But with my "special someone", I make it a point to say "darling". Sometimes sweetheart. Maybe "love" if I'm actually in love with that person.

My man usually calls me babe but he uses darling when he wants me to grin and shiver. (it gives me a little thrill, I don't know why)

I just go with whatever feels right in the moment. I do really like to call her "sexy". She tries to deny it but whatever she's got it works for me.

called my ex "Baby Angel." She really, really liked it, though I'm pretty sure it originated by accident, when I couldn't figure out which basic pet name to go with and conjoined them when I paniced... heh.

Strangely enough, she always called me by my full name when she was very, very pleased with me.
"Quinn ____ Maynard," in that special voice with a tight-lipped smile. Damn, I still get goosebumps remembering that.

*edit* I'd also like to say that I think pet names are really important in a relationship, if they go beyond your basic "baby" or "honey." It's a special, humorous bond you can have with your significant other that no one else will ever have. Sure, love should be full of those, but one more is always good.

Usually, I'm Pumpkin-Butt or Porcupine-Butt or something truly bizarre ending in 'Butt'. I have no idea why. Maybe we're just using the sugary names ironically.

I do have one for my g/f that i havent seen mentioned yet....kitty...it has nothing to do with her name...but even she cant deny that its cool be able to go "here kitty, kitty, when ever i want some pussy"

I try not to resort to 'baby' but I do go for 'babe'

it's not something that i throw around on a regular basis... i use it quite sparingly (in part because i feel like a dork some times when i say it)... but my g/f likes it when i call her "my love"

I use schmoopy most of the time.

We call each other "bunny," mainly. I don't look like a rabbit, but she has a little of it in her.

My boyfriend calls me Senorita and I like it a lot.

I dated a girl named Colby I called her Cheese. April was Apple. Tahnee was Miss T. And the rest are Sweetheart or Honey because I never remember their names the next day anyway.

Well i don't have a girlfriend, but one of my good female friends i call her sweetcheeks, however translated to dansih, so it's sugarbottom. or 'Sukkernumse' in danish.

Most of the time i go with the generic babe, or hon'.
Sometimes if we're both in a good mood i'll bust out the hot lips (after the character from M*A*S*H*) or sweet cheeks.

I call her Dear or Angel.
