I got cut 2 years ago. No biggie really. I walked to a friends house 2 blocks away right after. I went hunting 5 days later. Sure the boys were tender but I wore tighty whities to hold them firmly in place and it was ok. My nuts were tender (more tender than normal) for about a month. After that I could let them hang free again at all times. I'm glad I got snipped. My wife does not like the pill so my other option was condoms and well......
It's not as bad as you think. |

I've thought about it, but, it'll cut down on my ability to do drive by shootings! (think about it) Besides, I've always hoped I'd be called upon to impregnate one of the Sis-in-laws. "No, no, we're doing it the old fashioned way!"
I've been reading about a newer procedure, less painful and less instrusive too. Check out some websites. Good luck!

Getting it.

I had it done earlier this year and it has had no effect on my desire to have sex or my ability to perform.
The procedure was relatively painless and took all of 10 minutes or so... I played 9 holes of golf the next day and only experienced a little bit of discomfort.

I’ve herd nothing but good things, I’m thinking of freezing some of the troops and getting it done (just thinking) I’ve heard that it is reversible as well. If you have had the children that you want go for it. It’s a simple surgery and you can continue with your life right away.

What about for someone (hint) who hasn't yet produced his very own Paul Atreides? Is there any circumstance under which you would recommend getting it done, if that's the case? I'm not sure if I want offspring or not, but I've always thought that it would at least be interesting.

Had it done in May.
Pro's... no more condoms/pulling out/pill etc. Cons... None. You have very little pain, and that is only in the beginning of the procedure, and that goes away within 5 minutes at worst. Since I had to shave, my wife loved the feeling and has asked for me to continue, and that has heightenend our pleasures together. |

20 mins "under the knife", and walked out of there 2 hours later. Slightly swollen balls for the rest of the day but no real discomfort.
I've had worse flu.

Oh, and it's reversible up to 15 years. Not wanting any more kids I've not verified that (you may want to!) but yeah, it doesnt necessarily have to be the end of your horde's lineage ;-)

Theres a new technique where nothing is clipped. a paperclip like device blocs semen from entering the uretha. Its also safer and easily reversible.

I did pass out the day after, but I was smoking a joint at the time. And I still have to support the fellas or I get sore like blue balls.(No more boxers for me!) And I had epedidimitis. sp? (swollen ball from a plugged duct, like a pea grew on the side of a testicle) I would still recommend it, though. It has been less painful than having our first and only unexpectedly. Just don't get one thinking you can fuck with impunity if you are single. Safe sex is still the best sex. I'm married, so wo-hoo!!

It would save money in the long run. No more birth control/condoms and should pretty much eliminate the chance of accidental pregnancy.

If you're really worried about the reversal option, consider this:
Cost of Vasectomy ~$750 - most likely covered in full (or small co-pay) Cost of Vasectomy Reversal - $7500 - $10000 - not covered by insurance at all. If you think there's a *remote* possibility that you'll EVER want to have children, either don't have it done, or put some in cold storage. |

I've got all the kids I want. No chance of anymore naturally. We may go the foster kid or adoption route down the road.

Did it!in January. Follow the docs advise and kick back for a couple days on ice then light duty for a couple weeks and the world is your oyster. Wife loves it , girlfriend loves it, most of all I can have all I want without worry of more little me's running around. The girls don't have to be concerned either. Which lets them be free, and that my friend is a very good thing!
