spoilt for choice?

this is directed at males but any feedback is appreciated.

as time as past (probably about a year or so) since i have started masturbating i have found it more and more difficult to get satisfaction from.

at first i was quite happy with the shower, then i'd have to look at porn beforehand, and eventually to now where unless im directly infront of something really appealing i cannot find myself aroused enough to orgasm. this is made more-so unfortunate by the fact that its become dangerously time consuming to find material that i suppose meet my standards, and although i have been safe so far im not exactly in the most private or secure place from being caught.
sorry if this is abit crude but its a serious concern.

so my question is, does everyone else find it increasingly difficult or that they have to look at porn before they can masturbate, or am i weird and can you just go in the shower any time you feel?

What you need to know is that the brain is the most erogenous part of your body. If it is sexually stimulated, you should be able to pull one off.

If I'm feeling the need to relieve some tension I can get it done in the bathroom in just a few minutes, but I can also go for hours without having an orgasm even if there is lots of other stimulation (porn).

Jerking off in the shower to completion is a task for me, so I don't do it anymore. I need videos. My imagination doesn't work too well because in the middle of it I'll be like "Wonder what I'll have for breakfast tomorrow" or something like that.
So when I get my jerk on, I do need some porn, or my woman with me. And magazines don't cut it anymore...that is so 1990. I need to see the P & E.

Most of the time need porn.

mmmmm...... porn......

If it's only been a year since you started masturbating - how old are you - like, 12 or 13?

Show me someone who says he never masturbated before the age of 17, and I'll show you a liar.

While we're on the subject, if I may ask...for guys that don't always use porn to get off:

Is there a quality difference in your orgasm between looking at porn and getting off and imagining someone/thing and getting off? If so, what's better [feeling]?

Im 18, and at earliest i started a year and a half ago (Beginning of 02). I have no reason to lie to anybody here, and if i started at 12 or 13 then i'd say so. I dont know why i started late, but my nights are sure cleaner because of it. ;)

Well considering i rarely get off without porn, due to lack of stimulation and as mentioned, imagination, i would personally consider the orgasms without porn to be better. The only reasons i can think of are that they are more personal (eg thinking about someone special), whereas porn kind of gives you no choice but to follow along, although that isnt always a bad thing.
Also it may seem strange but watching porn also distracts you from the orgasm, because you dont lose interest until the the feeling is over. During the orgasm though attention is still being payed to porn.
Whereas by yourself you are more focused on what your doing and feeling. Others may feel completely differently though.

Appreicate the advice everyone, thanks.

I use porn on the internet, but I don't have to have it to get off.

gariig 08-24-2003 09:02 AM

Maybe erotic stories would be more up your alley..they are great for getting the imagination jump started. Also, if you like "strange" fetishes it's an easy way to fulfill them. The best site I know of is www.literotica.com

I used to be the same way when I first started. It didn't take much to get me off.

Of course, it is a little more difficult now than it was then, but it all depends on how you can connect your imagination to your sexuality.

Sometimes I can lay in bed with a damn good thought in my head, and that's good enough. Of course, there are also times when specific videos or scenes are required.

This is a good question, I find it difficult to get off fantasizing about girls I actually know...... it's like I'm using them for nothing other than to get off, I feel shallow...... Because I actually care about them. I can however, have excellent sex dreams about them...... Romantic fun sexual romps in dreamland, In the dreamworld everything feels real...... You are together having fun, and that fun leads to great sex. I guess I'm just weird ?

Porn on the other hand is all fantasy, I watch these beautiful women having outrageous sex..... women I will never know, I can easily fantasize about them..... I'm the guy deep inside her, I'm the guy she's giving the great blowjob to..... when she looks into the camera she's looking into my eyes. My mind blocks the guy she's with completely out...... I am that guy. It's the same with lesbian porn, It dosen't matter that these girls are supposed to be lesbians...... my mind blocks that out and they are delicious bisexual women and I am there with both of them..... It's just pure fantasy.

So to answer your question, Yes there is a difference between porn and imagination, even if it's just the hot hostess with the great ass I seen for the first time last night..... it just dosen't work for me. My mind wanders and it's difficult to get off..... with porn however, my mind has something to concentrate on..... I'm right there in the action, I can get off easily..... and if the girl is one of my favorites, and the action is hot and heavy.... my blood starts pumping and Blamo! :D

he he he

/me is embarrassed :p

Normally i'd TOTALLY agree with you, but he might be in a very religious/constricted atmosphere. After all, he said he's not in a secure place. Like he might be Mormon or something. Those kids don't know dick about anything, they're so closed-off. When I used to visit my now-ex at her place in Idaho (I live in FL) i'd have to talk to these people... if you say the WORD "sex" they get flustered and upset, let alone TALK about sex. There are some strange folk out there, but I agree with you on the principle.

analog 08-24-2003 04:51 PM

I'm thinking you started so late because of a restrictive atmosphere and overdosed on T&A. It might just take some time, but once you start doing stuff with 3-dimensional girls you can actually touch, things will be "looking up" again.

Penguin 08-25-2003 05:19 AM

while im not religous, you are right about the atmosphere. sexuality has never been a topic discussed, not because its frowned upon but simply because i have divorced parents and i grew up with my mother. she has never questioned me about any of this, or the messy sheets, she just goes on like nothing happens, because im sure she understands its completely normal, she is cool like that.
that, and i've always shared a room with my older brother, which doesnt make it the easiest situation to go exploring in

I am the exact same way. At least I was until I moved on to video/DVD.

zizdog69 08-27-2003 02:53 AM

I find that I have to look at pics first and then move into movies. Pics alone don't work for me.

motdakasha 08-28-2003 01:40 PM

1. Try cutting down. The less you do it, the more buildup and the more you'll appreciate it.
2. Try using your imagination more. If there is someone you think is hot, think about them. If not, then try playing around with ideas of fantasies or online erotica.
3. Experiment. Perhaps, with toys.
a. Vibrators aren't just for women.
b. There are anal stimulators made just for men.
