'Chasing Amy' brings up a few good points towards the end about threesomes

but in chasing amy the situation revolves around sexually insecure longtime buddies and a couple that is in serious trouble. i think that in ordinary situations group sex can be fun and emotionally safe for all involved as long as the only motive going in is to have fun.

I would just like to point out that this poll is skewed because anyone who has had a threesome definitely voted when they saw this thread. If 25% of people really had threesomes, I should hope I would've been one of them by now.

Well threesomes are great fun I love multiples and I cant understand why anyone would said a MFM is not more fun than a FMF. I mean only one guy and two girls geeshhhh come on that is a 6 to one ratio. I much prefer a 3 to 2 ratio, hehhehe. I think 3somes are one of those things that sound like a great idea but when you actually think about it, you realize it isn't...b/c what I mean is it's not gonna be like a porn where both girls are blowing you/take it out and blow you while banging the other one :/

I think men prefer FMF (as opposed to MFM) because they're afraid to touch another guy (unless the participants are bi- or comfortable with their sexuality). The thought of accidentally touching or feeling some guy's wang is just not as appealing as the soft caress of two girls. That's one reason for the discrepancy, I guess. Too bad. :(

Meh. I personally don't agree with that. I wouldn't have trouble with touching a guy's wang, accidentally or otherwise. But what I would have a problem with is letting another guy near my wife. The very idea of sharing a woman with another man irks me. But that's just me...

I have 3 problems with MFM, and I'll be the first to admit they are (relatively) selfish:

1. If I'm having a threesome I want all-around participation. Since I'm not interested in having sex with another guy, that cuts out a part of the potential. Whereas with FMF, assuming both females are ok with some bi action (much more common), everyone gets in on the group spirit.

2. It's not a matter of "being comfortable with your sexuality." I wouldn't want to fuck with another guy. This isn't because I'm afraid it would make me gay, it's because sex is a personal thing and to be shared with people you want to be sexual with.

3. I don't want to share my girlfriend with another man. That may make me possessive, but this is a male trait and likely can be attributed to the other guy in the threesome as well. I am not comfortable with opening the door to another man trying to be possessive over someone I have an emotional attachment to.

That makes sense. I was making a general inference based on the feedback I've read from men, but of course there's more than one reason for men to prefer FMF. Thanks for demystifying that for me.

Tried it once but that encounter doesn't make the cut for my "top ten" list.

Would like to try again, but finding the "right" partners when that particular mood arises is tough.

We've had a few over the past year or so with a former neighbor of ours. It was a MFM threeway. The first couple of times it was exciting and lived up to our expectations. Lately though, he's been a dick about it, so, no more with him. He's becoming the "fuck and run" type. We feel he's not interested in the friendship aspect of it, he just wants to fuck.
