It's something I've always wanted to try, pretty much just for the hell of it, but none of my previous girlfriends has been into it, so it's just never happened before.

I don't remember how it came up in conversation, but my new girlfriend mentioned hers was coming up about a week from now, we got to talking and she informed me that it was something she really wanted to do and that it's the time of the month when she is at her horniest. Also, that none of her other partners had been willing to. So, it's gonna' happen, but I really don't know what I'm getting into.

I only mention this because every other facet of sex is very well documented and photographed. But I don't think I've ever read what it's like, and I cannot remember ever seeing a photo off the web of what it's going to be like.

I don't know how much blood to expect, I don't know if there's going to be a smell. And whether contraceptives are necessary if we've both been tested negative for all diseases. ;)

#1: The myth that a girl cannot get pregnant while she has her period is just that, a myth. She CAN get pregnant, so contraceptives are still a necessity.

#2: The amount of blood to expect depends on how heavy a flow she has. It can be next to nothing to quite a lot.

#3: There is always a smell, but again, it has to do with how heavy the flow is.

#4: Be prepared with towels and a place to clean up after. Not always a big mess, but nice to get it off quickly.

OK, here's the lowdown.

First: It's fun. All the women I've had period sex with tell me that things feel a bit different, maybe more sensitive. They've all really enjoyed it.

Second: There is a bit of mess involved, depending on flow. She's going to want to clean her thighs off afterward, and you're going to want to clean your cock and balls. If it's near the start of her period, you're probably also going to want to put a towel beneath the two of you. Once you get past the fact that it's messy, the blood is really nice as a bit of extra lubrication.

Third: I certainly can't remember any smells that were more unusual than normal. ;)

i must say i was a little weary to try period sex, but my girlfriend was at that time of the month and was seriously horny, so i decided why not. it actually was very enjoyable for her and myself and only required a little bit of cleanup afterwards. i say go for it and enjoy, but be prepared to clean up.

Personally period time is sex in the shower time for me. It got pretty tiresome having to lay down towels and do extra cleaning. The whole sex during the period was never really an issue.

It was great, she had an "average" flow (is there sucha a thing as average flow????).. Seeing as how the question is answered, I won't really put in my 2¢ since it's already been said, but I would like to comment on the quote I chose here. Contraceptives and disease warding are mostly two different things. Most forms of birth control (a.k.a. contraceptives) don't protect you at all from STIs. The few that do are things like (male and female) condoms and dental dams, and their purpose is prophylactic whereas birth control is not.

Getting tested won't prevent her from getting pregnant. Using ortho-tricyclen won't ward off AIDS or HPV. However, using condoms/protective gear will prevent you from getting STIs.

I'm nitpicking here and I apologize for it.

Maybe I'm strange but I'm putting this at the very bottom of list of things to do sexually. Something about lots of blood is just a turn off.

My wife says that it feels different, more sensitive, and she likes it. It's something we do all the time but her period never stopped us when we were horny. We just use a towel and shower afterward and all is good.

I was having sex with my girlfriend the first night she thought the period was over. When we finished, we saw there was a bit of blood. Then she realized that she had miscounted the days, and she was still having it. Woops (believe it or not she is actually a very intelligent girl...just sometimes horniness gets in the way). It wasn't as bad as I might have imagined it would be, but franly, I don't mind just waiting an extra day or two. I'd rather avoid the nastiness factor.
