And I'm gonna go with the general consensus here. Actually, if you're seriously doubting whether it's cheating or not, chances are you already know it is, you're just looking for arguments to validate your behaviour and looking for ways to continue without feeling guilty

I don't think you can do anything with another girl (or guy) online that you wouldn't be allowed to do if you were with them in the same room (I.e. no stripping, watching each other masturbate, etc.).

It would be like the two of you standing in a room with a glass window between you, and then doing whatever it is you're doing right in front of each other. The distance between you is irrelevant. The glass would be just as much as a barrier as a 1000 miles and the act would be just as wrong.

How would your SO feel if you were watching some other woman getting herself off to the sight of you, in the same room? Don't do it. its disrespectful, plain and simple.

i realize that, it was just the first example i came up with. i agree that "camming" with someone other than your SO would be a violation of trust (although i don't know if i would go as far as calling it cheating), but to say that "anything you do that you wouldn't want to tell your girl about is cheating" is overly vague and doesn't take into account other factors.

lying to girlfriend = wrong
lying != cheating. (it can, but that's if your cheating and lying about cheating).

how about this... you like to have a monthly poker game with friends from work. your SO is completely against any type of gambling, SO thinks its immoral or something. when you play, does telling her you're having a guys night out constitute cheating? even if you directly say "i'm not gambling?" no, it doesn't. it may be lying, or omitting facts, but you're not cheating.

It's definately cheating if you're communicating with her. It's not as bad if she's on a website and you're just watching.

I think if you are just watching the cam, just like you would passively look at a photo on the internet or a movie, then it is just wacking off to porn on the internet. Whether that is cheating is really up to you S.O. Some women would consider that cheating, any that I have been with wouldn't - or I wouldn't have been with them.

If you are beaming her a cam of yourself and you are communicating back to her and interacting then that seems much more akin to "cheating". It would be safe to assume that that would be cheating unless your S.O. says it isn't. Anything that your S.O. knows about and approves isn't cheating - unless she says it is. With some couples, having sex with another person isn't cheating but it is known beforehand.
