Geez! I just tried pulling a couple out of curiosity and got tears in my eyes. A pill would be nice though that could target the hair removal you'd like.

Fuck yeah. God I hate shaving.

Funny that this thread comes up. I didn't read all the posts, but I seem to be the only one that doesn't mess with tweezers. I take a warm shower, soap up and wash off any oils, then wrap small bundles of pubes around my finger as best I can, then do a quick snap of the wrist and arm outwards, yanking the bundle out. If I had to guess, I'd say 20-30 pubes at a time. I leave the shorter ones so it's not bald (hairy legs with bald crotch might look weird) but the bush is significantly diminished. I do this once every few days or so and keep a semi-constant appearance of less-than-usual hair.

Sure it hurts, if you're not expecting it. I know what's coming so I prepare and block it, then YANK! and there's a bundle of hair in my hand. I got this idea when I was watching discovery or nat'l geo and saw that culture in india that yanks every single hair out of their body. I figured if they can do it, so can I. The ones that hurt the worst are probably shaft-hairs because you have to do a couple at most at a time, with fingernails when they are shorter. Taint hairs aren't too bad, and sack hair....well it's second on the list of pain. Grab a bundle of sack hair and try to yank it out, bet you either jump back or yelp LOL. Grab a few at a time and it's not as bad though.

Doesn't this take forever?

And every hair that I have ever pulled out with tweezers has come back. In my teens, it was a few random hairs on my face/beard. I've also taken out a few eyebrow hairs and stomach.

I would think waxing would do the same thing, but faster. And laser or electrolysis would be how to get it done permanently.

Vigilante 09-03-2008 07:47 PM

Yeah even if you pull a root, it'll come back. If not from the same spot, then a hair nearby might split and take its place. It makes sense to me that over time your body might stop growing so much hair in spots where it's ripped out every week or so, but I don't know enough on that to make a statement I think might be correct.

ASU2003 09-03-2008 07:55 PM

The only way I can see it working is the same way electrolysis works, by scarring the inside of the follicle, it prevents new hair from forming. But, I'm not sure pulling it out will do that.

As you age, your body hair diminishes and, according to my mom, that includes the pubes. I'm not that old, but the hair on my arms is almost all gone and what's on my legs has thinned out a lot.
I'm looking forward to not having to shave, but not what goes along with that. Plucking? Makes my eyes water just thinking about it.

I have actually read a number of product reviews and it seems as though the One Touch Hair Removal Home Electrolysis System is about the only one on the market that will actually work. I have also read that it is a bit tricky to use. I have considered it but have not picked one up.

Tweezing is fine between my eyebrows, but for pubes it would take forever. I'm content with trimming everything between my waist and my knees (the Schick Quattro with trimmer is awesome,) shaving if there's any chance my pants might come off, and waxing if it looks like I'd have to shave more than every week or two.

Starmann 03-09-2010 07:38 AM

I tweezed the hair off one side of my diick last year and it did seem to grow back courser, but I understand that is an initial reaction of the body to protect itself, and that with repeated tweezing it gives up growing hair there.

I also learned that if you tweeze with hydrogen peroxide over the follicle as you tweeze it gets into the follicle and kills the root faster. So I started again, using a puff soaking with HP over the hair as I pull it, then keep rubbing the finished area with more as I keep working.

Too soon to tell yet, as i just started 9 days ago with a test area, but so far so good. I love the smooth skin. There are little bumps where the follicle remains. I never got any ingrown hairs or infections. Some people worry too much.

As far as the pain goes, some will be more sensitive, some will be "tougher" and able to endure it, and some will not mind it at all. I find if you yank fast it hurts less!

I'm going to take the fur "collar" off my peter and front of the sack but may leave the hair on the side of the sack to reduce clingy skin issues. Goodbye monkeydik!

PairofWings 03-09-2010 02:52 PM

Personally, I tweeze down below because I hate HATE the bumps.. and I dont tweeze everything, just around the lil triangle I like to keep tidy and smooth. (but I'll shave my labium majora, as those hairs are very fine and dont bump up when I shave at all).

It doesnt take long, I just tack it onto my body maintenance and its smoother than any razor would get me.

I also have a high tolerance for pain and it doesnt hurt much.. I might venture to say that my eyebrows hurt more to pluck! :p

This seems like it might work. Though most places I have found on-line say that the hydrogen peroxide will just disinfect the area, it won't kill the root. I am interested in knowing if you have found some source that says that it kills the root or if your own experience is that the hair doesn't come back.

There should be a study done comparing that to witch hazel, bleach, Veet, or kerosene  to chemically 'burn' the hair follicle after tweezing. There doesn't seem to be much research done on the natural home remedies because there is no money to be made and will negatively effect the hair removal businesses.

And I found this article that backs up the original premise that tweezing will reduce hairs. I'll have to try it to believe it, but I have noticed that the hair in between my eyebrows has reduced by a lot just by tweezing.

Tweezers! Tweezing the pubic hair

levite 03-09-2010 05:49 PM

My BFF tweezed for many years until she finally got tired of it and got laser epilation to remove the hair permanently. Prior to my acquaintance with her, she'd been an exotic dancer for a while, and during that period had gotten into the habit of waxing her pubic area. This eventually resulted in her pubic hair coming in much more sparsely, to the point where she figured she'd save the trouble and money of waxing and just tweeze. She said by the time she got to that point, it really didn't hurt much....

The whole concept of tweezing...just sounds...perfectly awful...sometimes its just easier to let the garden grow wild and hope for the best.

My crotch hair can sand wood. No, no garden growing for me.

DR132 03-12-2010 09:05 PM

eh...can't say the idea of tweezing down there sounds like fun, i, personally, rarely have any problems with shaving, i just do it in the shower with hot water and a fresh three bladed razor, no shaving cream same as i do on my face...works for me, no bumps, itching or razor burn so long as i keep up on it

The synonym just makes it that much more horrifying.

Personally? Universal beard-trimmer manscaping. Too much mediterranean blood, having a bare patch in the middle of a forest would look ridiculous.

Have a hairless dog. When the hair is stripped it often grows back bent over, and will cause a spot - sometimes quite large puss filled ones. I dont strip my dog, he is as he is - but it took a lot of time for his skin to reach the good condition it is in now. Took a lot of time. Have heard of people waxing their dogs too. Poor dogs.

A pensioner I rehomed a dog to gleefully told me that as you get older, you stop growing the hairs you eagerly waited for in puberty, arm up, checking in the bathroom mirror. She said you end up with no leg hair either.
Expect some of you are as thrilled with that bit of info as I was at the time. When you rip the hair out you might want to save them up in case you ever change your mind and want a merkin

Shadowex3 06-06-2011 12:46 PM

It evens out Crested, the hair on your head doesn't fall out it just goes in and comes out lower.

chinese crested 06-08-2011 07:25 AM

That explains my legs. I suppose its living too long with gravity as we get shorter too.
