baby girl.
Need some advice, if anyone knows about this sort of thing. My fiancee and I have an amazing, wonderful son, and we only want one more child. She is dying to have a daughter, but my side of the family only seems to produce boys. Aside from expensive, invasive lab procedures, does anyone know any ways to increase your odds of having a girl? Thanks

There is actually a procedure that my wife's OB does (we didn't do it), but apparently isn't too costly. It is sperm seperation, where they seperate the slow swimmers from the fast ones. Thus increasing your chance of a girl. I know it isn't 100% (what is?), but it may be an option to look into.

My aunt and her husband tried for years to have a baby girl. They procreated on certain nights, used all types of lotions, ate different things, the result? I think 4 boys...
I'm in the same boat, I really want a daughter, but almost my whole family has boys. |

How much did you screw around when you were younger? How many anxious fathers stayed up late to welcome home their little princess when you were done having your way with her?
I think the chances of you having a daughter are directly related. (Was for me anyway)

have a baby during the winter.
It's clinically proven that more boys are born in hotter weather. There are more boys born in the south.

I'm not completely sure of the precise timing but you can use the basal body temperature of the woman to tell when she'll ovulate. Then the timing when you copulate can make a difference in what you procreate. We have a daughter - completely my accident. No planning in any way to have a child or not or even the gender. I do know that if you talk to the right Dr they can direct you in the right way to manage the choice "naturally". Good luck.
Here's a link which might help you. http://www.ovulation-calculator.com/...prediction.htm

Choosing the sex of your child.
I don't remember the details but there is a way to determine the sex of your child without lab procedures etc.. It had to do with the frequency and timing of sex and the alkaline/acid nature of the female organ throughout her cycle. Different types of douches can also change the "environment" to be more conducive to the sex of your choice. I did it many years ago and have three sons. My family, and my wife's are both prone to girls.
Anyone else know this one??? I will try to get the details and then re-post. |

I don't care what sex child I have, as long as they're healthy and happy...
Do I *really* want to deal with having a daughter? Maybe not. But I don't *really* want to deal with a son. But do I want kids? Heck yeah. Sweet irony! I'm just hoping they turn out not to be pains in the ass...which isn't possible. It's like a catch 22. |

There is nothing you can do to determine the sex of your baby....Just be happy when it is healthy and beautiful.

The x and I were having a discussion about the sex of children. She also mentioned the fast and slow swimmers thing. She said one thing that can make up for slow swimmer is a guy that can blow it in to the girl like a cannon. Then I got to thinking. There has not been a female child in my family for over 150 years. Then we were talking about my my ability to cover distance with my spoo. So if I ever knock her up we figure it is going to be a boy.

the sperm does not carry 2 chromasomes. it carries either an X or a Y.
the egg always** carries an X. if a Y-sperm gets to the egg, it's XY=boy. if an X-sperm reaches the egg, it's XX=girl. the X chromasome is friggin huge, and the Y is pretty small, so sperm with an X chromasome will swim slower than those with a Y. frequent sex makes males more likely. having sex within 36 hours can cause the speedier Y-sperm from the second ejaculation to reach the egg before the X-sperm from the first time, so the eggs gets hit with more Y-sperm than X's, so it'll likely produce a boy. So if you want a girl, slow down.

I'm a really overprotective older brother, so God help the boys who try and date my daughter if I ever have one. I wouldn't want to make her hate me or anything, but damn, I can already tell that I'm going to be one of those dads, and I'm just eighteen!
