This wouldn't change things. Choosing eye candy over ability is bad business judgment, whether that eye candy is for your personal enjoyment or the enjoyment of others. Unless we're talking about a job where being eye candy is the main required skill.

follower of the child's crusade?

To me, it would depend on the job. There was a girl at my work who used to dress in a way that showed off her figure. Quite a few other female employee's complained about it and someone had to ask her to cover up a bit.

For myself, as long as someone isnt dressed like a stripper and it isnt inappropriate for the job (ie - theyre a teacher) I dont have an issue with it. If someone likes how they look and wants to show it off, as long as they get their work done all the same I say its up to them.

As for how much you should stare - I guess enough so that it isnt bloody obvious!

Classy, workplace appropriate dress that also happens to be slightly low cut.

If I ever get over boobs, just shoot me.

The young woman in question generally shows off less than this - er...well, she has more to show, but shows a little less of the total.

I was going to say, is it that hard to just not look? Then I remembered a similar experience I had today with a girl at the library who was busting at the seams.

Yes, yes it truly is.

If not for sexual reasons, I just wanted to ask her if she wanted to borrow my jacket while she pulled her tank top back up

What makes me mad is when they show it off and then get mad at anyone who looks, or talks with her female friends and complains about all the "pigs" around her.

Agreed with cromps smooth spot. Me and a friend in high school did a little test to see how many eyes are drawn to tight tight pud pants. The answer was everyones. And it was our own fault, so calling anyone on looking would be complete bullshit on our part.

The day I started working, I had always wanted to look colleagues as colleagues! No man or woman. Just professional. So I strictly prefer my female colleagues NOT
showing their cleavage, butt crack, unshaved arm pits, lower stomach & navel, etc!
Not because I don't like these, I love those (Except the butt crack part - thanks to my SO for this edit)! And I don't want to see my colleagues as a sexual objects. Also I it is a lot discomfort to get turned on at work.

Work is work.

I work at a college. Show too much cleavage and people will just assume you're a student. Most people dress nicely, jeans and a nice shirt for women is fine in most departments, people in management tend to dress nicely, certain people who have to help students daily dress like complete slobs and I can't believe nobody has mentioned to them that pink crocs, jeans, and a "Jimmy's Hip Hop Spot" t shirt is not exactly professional. Not much cleavage, but honestly there aren't a lot of people whose boobs I want to see.

If she were smart, she'd hide the cleavage and hint at sexuality with a conservative office outfit, paired with a hot pair of shoes.

Isn't it a general fashion faux pas to wear stiletto heels above 4" to work? Not only is it uncomfy and unsafe-ish, it's a bit slut-tacular.

Dunno, to me it screams: "Hey! Hey! Look at me! I've got my priorities all wrong... somebody come pommel my inviting ass on the copier."

I agree.

That's actually one thing some employers look at (I do,) - sensible shoes. Depending on what your tasks will entail at your job, if you're not wearing sensible shoes, that says a lot.

Actually some of the shoe fashions are approaching fetish levels. I wear some slut-tacular shoes to the office, with jeans and other office appropriate wear. I work in a corporate environment. The shoes I posted are probably a tad over the top, but paired with a conservative outfit, dark tights, you could probably get away with them.

i work in an industrial plant, so it is rare that anyone shows any cleavage seeing as how it's 90% men, but when one of the females does show a bit of boob-crack, the crowd goes wild. i'm pretty sure everyone involved is aware of what the outcome of the situation will be from the get-go (the guys will look) so she either has to deal with it or wear something else. If guys walked around with part of their crank exposed it'd probably get some looks from women as well if somehow that were an acceptable part of the male wardrobe (the male version of cleavage?)

edit: too much cleavage for the workplace
