Sorry about the duplicate thread - I wasn't sure if this should be in Sexuality or Life.

To masturbate or not to...
I'm a good guy. I don't think dirty thoughts about women and girls in my life. I respect females.

But I also like to masturbate, and porn helps my imagination.

Lately, I've considered stopping all masturbation or at least, all porn viewing. My question is this: Is it really that bad? It will take a lot of pain and effort to stop myself, and I don't want it to be all for not. I hear warnings that when I finally find a girlfriend, I will not be able to pull away from the porn addiction. That's concerning, and I'm not going to fool myself saying that couldn't happen to me.

Still, I don't know if it's worth the pain to stop. Surely, once I get a girlfriend or find somebody I'm interested in, then I would have a very good reason to stop. But for now, while I'm single and still in college, I don't see the point of dealing with the frustrating of stopping.

What do you think? Should I stop now?

if you are unable to masturbate without the porn, well, you might want to cut back-

instead of porn, try thinking dirty thoughts about the women you know. Seriously. If you keep 'em up on a pedestal, you are never going to get laid.
