Making love with the lights on

Do you prefer having the lights on? I do. Not really bright, but enough to see. I'm visual that way.

lostgirl 10-09-2008 11:24 AM

Yes, But not really bright. I love to watch, and sometimes we use a mirror.

jewels 10-09-2008 11:24 AM

Wasn't til the past few years that I was okay with lights on.

Sometimes dim or darkness is appropriate, but we love to maintain eyelock in the throes of passion.

Tully Mars 10-09-2008 11:31 AM

Lights on please.

lotsofmagnets 10-09-2008 11:33 AM

i seem to be the only one who voted bright light sofar. am i the only one who likes to see who i´m with?

Peaches 10-09-2008 11:34 AM

Lights on :-). The only thing I don't care for is the overhead bedroom lights, but bright sunlight works for me. I enjoy watching and would love to have a large mirror in our bedroom. Hint....hint.... ;-).

Jozrael 10-09-2008 11:57 AM

I voted for dim lighting, but that's just my ideal preference. I'd like to make love as the sun was rising outside, just barely illuminating the room. I'd like it to be soft, slow, sensual. The type where you don't even have your eyes locked because your chests are pressed together with your head on each other's shoulder as your hips move.

That's my personal favorite. But it doesn't mean I -dislike- well-lit sex ^^.

abaya 10-09-2008 12:00 PM

I don't *love* bright lights in the bedroom (other than sunlight), as I feel it takes away from the "mood" somewhat... if it's at night, I like candles and low lighting best. Making love in a sunbeam is really cozy though, too.

But hey, if a fucking is imminent, I don't really care what the lighting is like. Just get in my pants already!! :suave:

ratbastid 10-09-2008 12:03 PM

Overhead lighting is like the house lights at the theater. Useful for sweeping the place up, but when the show starts, you want them turned off.

Now, lamps? Candles? Sunlight? You betcha.

Jinn 10-09-2008 12:06 PM

I think I'd prefer brighter to darker, but for right now it's mostly low light + candles..

LoganSnake 10-09-2008 12:13 PM

I like some light. I'm visual. Seeing turns me on.

snowy 10-09-2008 12:17 PM

I like it dim--candlelightish, but not really any brighter. We have a lamp that's adjustable just for this purpose, as candlelight doesn't work for my SO (most candles are too smelly for him to handle). Sunlight is all right too. But the overhead light feels unnatural.

little_tippler 10-09-2008 12:42 PM

Some light creates a mood, but allows you to see as well. I just don't want to feel like I'm in a stadium or something. Though that could be fun, if it was in a stadium ;)

FlatLand Flyer 10-09-2008 01:03 PM

Voted some light. I love to watch her react to what I am doing on top of the sounds. Not a fan of bright light unless it is sunlight. I am okay with darkness, but only occasionally and if it fits the mood.

allfullup 10-09-2008 01:35 PM

Bright light counteracts my enjoyment of sexual stimulation. The less light, the better. I prefer just enough light to see, unless I'm blindfolded, in which case it's up to my partner whether there's 2000W of halogen spotlight on me or not.

Bear Cub 10-09-2008 01:56 PM

I can't see anything with my face buried in a crotch anyways.

Charlatan 10-09-2008 02:30 PM

I prefer some mood lighting but I am up for any of the scenarios.

BogeyDope 10-09-2008 02:37 PM

Really dim lights or just pure moonlight [most preferable] just really enhance the mood in my opinion.

Stare At The Sun 10-09-2008 03:55 PM

A candle or two, and im good to go.

Lindy 10-09-2008 04:08 PM

I think I like daylight best. Afternoon delight. But mornings are good too. Guys seem to like mornings. And I remember doing it in the living room with just the Christmas tree lights on. I liked that. Overhead lights are OK too, if they're on a dimmer.

I couldn't have worded this better myself. I don't care for a bright glaring light but some ambient lighting is nice. If I had to choose between a bright light and darkness I would choose darkness. I find the brightness too harsh for the moment. Sunlight would be fine to me, or under a tree in a somewhat shaded area. I am not at all going to spoil a moment because the lighting isn't ideal.

inBOIL 10-09-2008 04:16 PM

As long as there's enough light to see her reactions, it doesn't matter.

KirStang 10-09-2008 07:21 PM

I usually have my CPU screen on somewhere near the bed. Casts a perfect glow on her...woo!

mmmm...perfect blue glow...

genuinegirly 10-09-2008 09:18 PM

When I read "Bright light" I thought of 20 chrome par-64 fresnels pointed in my general direction with a moody blend of Roscolux 64, 80, and 46. Too much light, no matter the hue, would not be a pleasant experience in bed.

I am a fan of filtered daylight or candles.

mcgeedo 10-10-2008 06:22 AM

PAR-64s? I was thinking more of a couple 15k's. The upside is that the furnace wouldn't run as often :-)

KellyC 10-10-2008 08:50 AM

I have a small reading lamp on my bed stand. It's one of those florescent white light. Bright near, but dimmer far away. It's good enough for the job.

I'd turn on the ceiling light were it not for our paranoid fear of the room being so bright that people can see us from outside even though the blinds are closed.

digme 10-10-2008 09:23 AM

I like to see. Sometimes pitch black can be nice (denying one sense enhances the others), but I prefer the lights on.

Now I need to work on getting some mirrors installed :)

vigilant3 10-10-2008 11:42 AM

Dim lights. I find all physical flaws are diminished by the softer lighting. Seeing every pore, hair, and pimple, doesn't really turn me on as much as without. Not that the women i've had sex with were hairy acne covered beasts with large pores :)

I will take any lighting, but usually, it is quite dark. Yet, all the talk of blue glow and candles has me thinkin' ... Happy day!

StellaLuna 10-10-2008 04:04 PM

Dim/low light, please. Otherwise there's a light shining in my face and that's just no fun.

Willravel 10-10-2008 04:28 PM

I've worked hard and am very proud of the shape I'm in. While a lot of that is for me, it's also for a SO. It's like a symbol of my dedication to her enjoying me. Moreover, I love love love the way women look. It's incredible. Both of those are a part of the experience.

Caracala 10-11-2008 07:20 PM

I prefer having lights off and there being dim light (like a light in another room or the moonlight). My partner prefers the lights on all the way, though.

Anormalguy 10-15-2008 06:40 AM

Medium to dim lighting, as I like to watch my wife's face when we make love.

Godzilla 10-16-2008 06:56 AM

It varies by what type of love we are making. Sometimes we want soft romantic light and other times we want to see every naughty little detail. Definitely don't like the dark though. I love looking in her eyes and just feeling in sync with her.

Glory's Sun 10-16-2008 09:52 AM

Honestly, I don't really care either way. Lights on, lights off, it's all fun.
