KY Yours and Mine

Has anyone tried this or seen a review?

I just saw a commercial on TV for it...one lubricant for him...one for her...and apparently some reaction when they blend together. I went to the website and it says nothing remotely useful about what it does. I am curious and hoping someone can shed some light on what it does.

Thanks.

I've never used it but I did see it at the store the other day. My guess would be that they heat up when you combine them, but you'll never find real info on it from the company.

If you're thinking about trying it though, be aware that it's most likely oil based and should not be used with condoms.

It's not oil-based.

The package info, and ingredients, from www.drugstore.com:

You do the math: An invigorating sensation for him. A thrilling sensation for her. Put the two together and suddenly, everything's just right. Better than just right. Completely new and unexpected. More exciting. More satisfying. More everything.

Ingredients:
Yours for him™: Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Maltodextrin, Honey (Miel), Methlyparaben, Sucralose.
Mine for her:™: Water (eau), Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 60, Hydroxyethycellulose, Bonzoic Acid, Menthyl Lactate, Methyl Sallcylate, Parfume (Fragrance), Sodium Hydroxide

Directions

Interesting.

But what is this exciting sensation?

LoganSnake 05-04-2008 08:05 PM

Maybe it works like IcyHot. His excites, hers ignites....

inBOIL 05-04-2008 08:48 PM

As long as it doesn't work like epoxy:cringe:

Sage 05-04-2008 11:15 PM

Oh man, use during "you-know-what"! How scandalous!

(so does that mean when we're washing dishes and he looks over at me and puts his hand on mine *oh so naughty* ...)

Daniel_ 05-05-2008 01:19 AM

The Glycerin in his has a warming effect.

The Menthyl Lactate in hers has a cooling effect.

If he used "Durex Play Heat" lube and she used "Durex Play Tingle" lube you'd get the same effect (probably for less money).

Cheaper still - put cooking Glycerin on the penis, and eat a couple of mints before going down on her.

blahblah454 05-05-2008 06:26 AM

Wow way to just ruin the excitement Daniel.

You always have to go and be so smart now don't you?

The Tingle stuff is awful, though. Smells horribly of spearmint. I tried it once; my vagina smelled like chewing gum for hours.

levite 05-05-2008 09:29 AM

You know, call me old-fashioned, and granted, it's been a couple of months, but I seem to recall that it's a fairly amazing sensation when you just have sex. No special lubes or oils or artificial flavorings-- just fucking. So much so, in fact, that I do not believe there has ever been a single time in my life, when having sex, that I asked the girl I was with, "do you know of any way that you could make your vagina feel cooler?" or thought, "this would be amazing, were it only mintier!"

Halx 05-05-2008 10:09 AM

I don't think its above improvement. It's about making it different. On the other hand, its also a marketing gimmick.

It's a skill. My company makes a competing range of products in the UK.

Our New Product Development meetings are a scream. If you hate the ones that make it to your shelves, just wonder and dread the ones that don't! :shakehead:

Somehow the "Liver and Bacon" lube was rejected, and despite promising trials, Prawn Cocktail for her and Cheese & Onion for him never made it to the prodct launch. :orly:

Doesn't everyone think that about sex at one point or another?

I think this is the currently active thread with the highest level of general hilarity. I have not laughed so hard in days at least.

HamiC 05-05-2008 07:08 PM

You all -- and by extension, this place (thanks Halx) -- rock. Where else can you take these kind of questions and get this much good stuff?

Please tell me this isn't true. It sounds like someone is trying to go after the more exclusive "dog-lover" demographic.

Ha this is great stuff. Daniel I am sure you have some real horror stories of proposed gimmicks and such, perhaps you would like to share them?

And that liver and bacon could have promise, have you seen the new line of Taco Time (or something similar, shows how much I pay attention) ads on tv where the girl has that bacon burrito thingy in her purse at the bar to pick up guys.

**found it

I really REALY hope you mean "people who keep pets" rather than "people who have an inappropriate physical relationship with canines".

Then again, it might just mean "people who pick up ugly women".

How come all the women who think I'm cute live in the states? :orly:

Not counting my wife, obviously.

genuinegirly 05-06-2008 03:58 PM

I, too, thought of epoxy.

Definitely a silly gimmick. By not telling you what it is, they're making folks curious. And they've made us talk about it. Silly, silly fun conversation.

Great idea.

"Mystery Lube". You know it'll do something, but each pack has a different random efect... warming, cooling, tingling, the power to conjure the devil...

...making squeeking noises, creating complete loss of sensation, smelling strongly of bacon, glowing in the dark, epoxy (but one of the other lubes dissolves the epoxy, have fun finding which one!), permanent dye, ....

Poppinjay 05-07-2008 05:39 AM

Without going total TMI, I would not recommend this stuff. Smelly, too slick.

'Cmon, TMI is what this site is built on. Let's hear the TMI!!

Poppinjay 05-07-2008 06:03 AM

Everything was kind of peppery. And sort of minty, but the pepper overwhelmed everything, not pleasant to taste. If you're going to go downtown, do it before you put this stuff in.

Also, too slick, too greasy, too slippery.

World's King 05-07-2008 06:30 AM

Why does it have to warm up?

If your crotch is cold during sex you're doing it wrong.

best thread yet. definitely a contender for the hall of fame.

i wonder if when mixed they could give off some sort of smell....like burnt rubber ;)

Makia 05-13-2008 04:50 PM

A burned-rubber smell during sex would definitely be a bad sign. I've heard of condoms breaking before, but burning? =P

ElephantsRCool 05-25-2008 11:20 PM

Haha

Rae 05-25-2008 11:37 PM

No one ever actually said what sensation there is when the two combine!!

never1before 06-13-2008 07:25 PM

Okay, so we got some and tried it out. The hubby said his felt really warm, and mine was tingle-y. When we had sex, the mixture was a bit warm, and bit tickle-y, but different than either. I'd say more than the sum of its parts. Didn't stay super slippery for long, but it was nice and did its job in an entertaining way. We will be using it again, and since the bottles are fairly large, I'd say we'll be using it more than once or twice!

Halx 08-24-2008 08:33 AM

Ya know, sometimes I just like the feel of a natural vagina wrapped around me. I dunno about you guys.

I dont use any KY or sorts of things. But some day planning to rub chocolate on my thing before going to bed :)

Ingredients:
Yours for him™: Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Maltodextrin, Honey (Miel), Methlyparaben, Sucralose.
Mine for her:™: Water (eau), Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 60, Hydroxyethycellulose, Bonzoic Acid, Menthyl Lactate, Methyl Sallcylate, Parfume (Fragrance), Sodium Hydroxide

I am not quite sure what the purpose of that last ingredient is. I generally prefer to avoid putting lye on my nether regions.

m0rpheus 08-24-2008 05:18 PM

We tried on of the tingling/warming ones once. It felt kinda good for a few seconds, then it felt like burning. Then I ran into the shower to get the shit off. Now I always worry about stuff like this going anywhere near that area.

Katyanna, the listing of ingredients is always by mass, with the items present in the highest proportion listed first.

The Sodium Hydroxide is therefore present in the lowest amount. You will also notice that the preservative "Benzoic Acid" is present, and at higher levels than the sodium hydroxide.

In solution, the Sodium Hydroxide dissociates into Sodium Ions and Hydroxide Ions. The Benzoic Acid dissociates into Benzoate and Hydrogen ions.

The net effect is that a solution containing Benzoic Acid and Sodium Hydroxide will form an equilibrium equivalent to having just added Sodium Benzoate (found naturally in fruit).

So it's not "puting lye on my nether regions". It's chemistry.

You have a far greater knowledge of chemistry than myself. My knowledge of Sodium Hydroxide ends at making homemade soap which is rather safe. Makes sense, and kudos for the extra knowledge.

Lol....that could be quite the mess.

My bf & I tried one of the "warming" lubes that KY makes....quite interesting. More of a tingling, burning sensation...bit of a mood killer. Just give me some regular KY and my bf....I'll be a happy girl!

Just catching up on this thread and began to LOL at this. Love your comment! Now I can't get rid of a mental picture of "Double Mint Vagina Gum" - Slogan: "Chew it all day and never get that Un-fresh feeling again!" Could put Summer's Eve out of business.

Zocrates 10-02-2008 04:20 PM

So my girlfriend and I where sitting in the living-room going over what a waste of money that was after we ran home and tried it...... Anyway, it's a waste of money, it actually gets sticky after awhile and it does taste horrible. When combined does not do much.

TIP: the warm one is great for masturbating when it's cold in your room (Yours), and the cool one (Mine) is great for a quick little jerk session in the summer time.

Note: My dog chewed mine (Yours) and drank it when I was at work...He poops is a split second now =)

Be careful!!

I dated a girl that said she and an ex did the chocolate syrup/whipped cream thing once.

she said it was amazing, but after they were done, he stuck to the kitchen counter (what with the dried/drying syrup that) so badly that he pulled a fair amount of butt and other bodily hair off.

she also said that washing it off of him in the shower was great fun... but her roommate was alittle bent to find syrup with butt hair on the counter the next morning.

PS I heart this site!!

Hyacinthe 10-03-2008 12:29 AM

Lube can be funny stuff, between my friends and the SO working in an adult store (He gets all kind of interesting things to 'test') any new and interesting stuff quickly comes up in conversation

This one made me chuckle
http://www.risqueboutique.com/compon...d00bcc81a5.jpg

I'm still trying to convince a store owner I know hat he should make a 'Bucket'o'Lube' product, for brothels or porn sets. An actual little bucket (kinda like the KFC ones) filled with lube, you could even get filler packs - your buckets empty go buy a sealed bag of lube and pour it back in - yay new Bucket'o'Lube

A bit TMI, but ...

I got to see hubby for a few days recently, and took a pack of the 'yours and mine' KY. According to product reviews, 'his' is supposed to be a bit warming, and 'hers' is cooling. When 'combined' it is supposed to be a warming/cooling sensation.

I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't anything special or 'intense' other than the 'vics vapor rub in the hoohah' feeling. He thinks the blue one heightened sensitivity a bit. I think it was because we hadn't seen each other in a couple of months. We later tried the blue on me, and it felt like normal lube to me. The lube in the purple bottle felt similar to IcyHot (though I have never tried IcyHot in the nether region). No fireworks when 'combined' other than the normal fireworks when we combined. I was nervous because I remembered how the KY Warming Gel was uncomfortable. This didn't get quite as warm/hot, but still not my favorite feeling inside.

I don't remember smelling mint. I do remember tasting very strong cherry, which was probably the glycerine.
