I started to read a really interesting thread when I realized it was the Ladies Lounge. I backed out slowly, but the question was interesting.

Do you keep count of your sexual partners?

I never really thought about it until today. It'd be nice if I could say I could count them on one hand, but it'd be a really weird looking hand with a lot of fingers. Thinking back on my past, I remember names and faces and experiences. Um... 30ish? Jeez....

it's not a matter of trying to keep count, its just such a small number that it's not really hard to remember.

I am in a similar boat, just probably older and have seen & done more.

I know how many (roughly) but I wont say, I've been in love, I've had one night stands, I've seen escorts, hell I even fell in love with an escort more than once.

I guess some people would call me a slut, maybe they'd be right, but I'm not a bad person, I care about people and respect them.

For me its about respecting others, sex if its safe and fun isn't something to judge someone about.

I tried to, and still try to, just coz its something for me to know. I'm either at 6 or 7 but I can't remember if I actually did fuck this one girl, or basically anything that happened after about 10pm.

I can count partners on one hand, but I was counting total times with all partners for a while.

I was told I was strange so I stopped counting, since I told someone it was 658. ;-) I got so much crap about it I stopped all together LOL.

I'm always amused by the stigma our society attaches to enjoyment of sexual activity, even among the more "enlightened" individuals.

It's been enough, and with 3 good girlfriends, that I'm very comfortable with the relatively low number that I have.

I don't think I'm "keeping track" so much as it's not difficult to remember the number and the women because it's relatively low (cannot be counted on one hand, but relatively low).

Is it me or is there an amusing coincidence between some of these numbers and the Ladder Theory thread? For me there is some complication between the number of sexual partners including or not including non-penetration sexual encounters. I believe that I am in the low double digits in terms of intercourse, and who knows how many random blow/handjobs along the way. 3 relationships over a couple of years each holds down the number. In some ways I believe that I would like my current partner to be my last.

my number by the way is 15, been that way since 02. it's odd I went from 1 to 2 to 3 pretty slowly, but went from 3 to 11 within about a year.

I think to add some reasonableness to the discussion one needs to consider age and marital status.

Ex: A single, 35 yo female. College educated, working. She has had fully 17 years of legal time to have sex. Say 3 guys a year in college, and 2 a year since then. (These are not unreasonable numbers for a normal heterosexual woman in our society.) By my count that is 38. If a female posted here...'38'...most of you would think-slut, whore, sorostitute ;) . And actually, any number up to 50 I would consider pretty normal for a well-adjusted person.

I don't see counting as a matter of filling out a spreadsheet, but as a way to remember the great experiences in your life. Its a count, only as an exercise to remember.

Yup, I've tried online dating. I sent about 80 messages, got maybe 10 replies, went out with 4 girls. One was interested in me that was the thing that lasted 2 weeks.

But the others didn't seem that interested, in the sense they would go out with me and talk with me, but it was just talking. I feel like maybe I'm doing something wrong, like I heard a guy is supposed to pay for her dinner (didn't realize that until this week), buy her a drink, try and touch the girl gently on the arm or put his arm around her or something (it just seems awkward to me), or make eye contact to try and decide if he should kiss her. Usually girls have to verbally tell me to kiss them for the first time. There just seems to be no emotional response from women. It is weird to me since I am attracted to them, and they tell me I am handsome, successful, nice, etc, maybe it's just a matter of being more forward and striking out a lot? (i.e. more numbers / experience).

I am considering the PUA thing but don't want to become that sketchy guy with diseases that women don't think is marriage material.
