Our first time...
So, my girlfriend and I have finally decided to take it all the way. It'll be both of our first times and we thought it would be a good idea to get a hotel room (since we both live with our parents when we're not at school). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or knew how to choose a good place to stay? You guys always have such good advice!

I know lots of good places to stay. Without telling us where you are, though, it's mighty hard to direct you to good hotels.
If you're in the Keys - Lilttle Palm Key. Pricey but beautiful Minneapolis - 601 Graves. Very cool and across the street from the Target Center Chicago - The Swishotel or the Sheraton. Both on the river, both with excellent views Napa Valley - Calistoga Ranch. All individual suites made up of modular housing with outdoor showers. One of my ATF's. None of these are particularly good for students or people on a budget, but let us know where you are and the price range, and I'll amend my list accordingly. |
for something different, go camping together, someplace secluded.

we live in louisville, ky -- not a big city like chicago or anything. I don't think we mind saving up a little for a nice place, but we don't want to break the bank either.
@Dilbert, well we want to have a nice bath, enjoy champagne (sp), and have a romantic evening, so I think camping is out this time. |
OK - I'm assuming that you don't mind a bit of a drive. If there's a radius I need to keep in mind or particulars beyond bath, champagne and a romantic evening, let me know and I'll refine the list.
Blackberry Farms - between Knoxville and Chattanooga. There's horseback riding, the mountains and a fantastic dining room. It's small, but in my opinion the best hotel in the state. The Cincinnatian - I stayed there for a wedding. I'm not allowed back. I was a bad guest. However, of the little I remember from that weekend, it's beautiful. The Peabody - If you want to go to Memphis, this is where you should stay. More reputation than anything else IMO though. The Hyatt in Nashville - really this one only gets top billing because I saw Robert Plant in an elevator on my way to the state cross country meet and he wished me good luck. Otherwise - meh. If you want to go to Nashville, stay at the Gaylord Opryland. It's got the coolest indoor garden ever. Also, the most affordable on my list for the amenities. Let me know where we go from here. |
Well if it's anything like my first time it's going to be really short and a little akward. Not something I'd bother getting a hotel room for, but that was just my personal experience. I'm still together with the same girl, however, and we get a hotel room whenever I visit her at college, so if you think you can pull it off it is a good idea - and why not be optimistic?
As far as student budget hotels we have tried a new one every time and the best so far was Best Western. Nice clean room for ~$80/night. Next time we'll be staying at a Holiday Inn Express which offers a Jacuzzi Suite for $97/night if you book it in advance. If you're only staying a few nights the extra $20 or $25 dollars a night will go a long way. Good luck and have fun! :) |
Focus more on the feelings and the love/etc., because your first time will SUCK. hehehehe... it's just the way it normally goes. I have never heard of anyone ever having "great" sex their first time. Great by atmosphere, maybe, or by feeling... but not by the act itself.
So, enjoy... but don't put too much stock in the act- after all, the real joy is in practicing over, and over, and over... hehe ;) |
Just do it in the back seat of your mom's stationwagon like everyone else...

Just my first time with you...

Fine, but I get to be the big spoon.

I want to be the cop that knocks on the window and shines a flashlight on WK's bare ass!

Have you thought about checking out bed and breakfast places in your area. Usually the rooms are a bit more charming and there's breakfast too! You can often find ones that have fireplaces in the rooms and sometimes even jacuzzi tubs. I'm not sure what "breaking the bank" is in your mind, but usually you can find B&B rooms for around $100 a night.

You don't need to be 21 to get a hotel room, do you?

But hey, camping is fun! I like that idea. Then again I think I might have to find a good bed and breakfast for our next anniversary. That sounds awesome. Hmm..I don't think the first time is worth a hotel room personally. But maybe if you plan on goin at it a few times it would be (which I doubt if it's both of your first times). Oh, I hear that here in Phoenix there are hotel rooms you can rent by the hour?...I'm out of ideas now. |
Just make sure with all this searching for a place to have sex you don't build this scenerio up into some impossible to actually have fantasy. You like her, she likes you. It's not hard to find a place to enjoy each others company.
