Tramp Stamps

Personally, I don't like tats on girls, unless they are hot and look like sluts. Even then I only want to see one across the bottom of their back when i'm bangin them

Thing is, more and more girls are getting lots of tats and I think they'll live to regret some of their choices later in life.

So the question is... tats or not on a girl?

If you like them, why? And post some pictures of the ones you like, i've only seen shitty ones to be honest

oneofmanymen 02-24-2007 08:57 AM

I honestly dont care for tats although my wife has two. However in my art play I have been trying to find a picture of a woman with a colorful full back tat that I can play with a bit. but so far no luck. I have been trying very hard to get my wife to have her hood pierced though. The thought of playing with it during oral just gets me going. But she says no..
Sorry I will stop rambling...

Dilbert1234567 02-24-2007 09:04 AM

i think anyone should be able to express themselves as they see fit, some tats look great, some don't. my old roommate had a gorgeous thistle on the small of her back.

ShaniFaye 02-24-2007 09:09 AM

I would love to see it Dilbert, but it says I dont have permission

As a female, I love my tats, I've made very careful, thought out decisions on what has been inked on me and I will never be sorry for any of them. I waited until I was over 30 before I got my first one, and I love my first just as much as I love my 5th one

james t kirk 02-24-2007 12:38 PM

I really don't like tattoos on women.

Especially the big Ass Antlers that are some common these days.

If you want to decorate yourself, why not get the removable tattoos that wash off.

Nothing beats smooth natural skin.

I'll see if i can dig her up and ask her if i can post a pic.

Daniel_ 02-24-2007 01:04 PM

"Ass Antlers" hur hur hur.

Personally I think as with all art, it depends on the quality of the artist. Some are stunning.

As an example, I love the cross that Shanni has on her leg (see ladies lounge thread), but have seen some crimes against art, masquerading as art on women that were highly regretable.

MiSo 02-24-2007 01:16 PM

i think a womans body is beautiful the way it is and does not need tatoos.

Halx 02-24-2007 02:03 PM

Not too long ago, I really dug tattoos on a girl. Recently, I've changed my opinion on the matter and I like pure, clean, soft skin.

I go back and forth. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a more "edgy" look, other times...not. That's the problem with tattoos: you can't take them off when you don't feel like wearing them! :p (And don't say "temporary tattoos" - those look like crap and are just plain silly) For that reason, I tend to like the idea of piercings better. They can be taken out for a more "natural" look, or put in for a more modified look.

World's King 02-24-2007 03:07 PM

I'm pretty sure you all know how I feel about this so...

Carno 02-24-2007 03:24 PM

I don't think I've ever seen a tattoo that looked good on a woman.

Supple Cow 02-24-2007 05:17 PM

Uhh, I think they can be just as ugly or cool on a boy. But I don't really dig the idea of having one on myself, so that's the only question that really matters to me.

What's the big deal about "girls" having them anyway? I'm sure somewhere out there, there is a "girl" who has one for the same reasons you people seem to think that boys have them. You know, because it's a tattoo of something meaningful to her. Just a thought.

ASU2003 02-24-2007 07:17 PM

I like maybe 5%, don't care about 50%, and think 45% look bad or tacky. I like girls without them a little better though.

analog 02-24-2007 09:27 PM

Tattoos on a woman are great- as long as they're not stupid. The problem is, lots of people get really stupid stuff tattooed on them all the time.

Bill O'Rights 02-24-2007 10:28 PM

It doesn't really do anything for me, but it's not necessarily a turn off either. I mean as long as it doesn't look like she's ready to star in a circus side show...no big thing.

Overall, though, I'd have to say that I'm not a big fan of tattoos on women. But, then again, I'm not a big fan of tattoos in general.

Stick 02-25-2007 04:16 AM

I love tats on a girl. The more the merrier. (Mmmm. Typing one handed now.)

Agreed.

A tattoo has to fit the person, place on the body, and be well done. You can't just get a big tat of the Tazmanian Devil and think you're badass. The problem with most people is that they just get the first thing that comes to mind and don't think about it. Then they end up with a lame tribal on their arm that looks like every other tribal out there. And if you're a girl and think you're being original by getting a little butterfly or flower or whatever the fuck you think is cute that week on your lower back. It makes you look cheap. Trust me. And if I see you in a bar with that shit sticking out of your nasty low rise jeans just above your thong... I'm gonna laugh at you. Then I'm gonna make you blow me in the bathroom. Cause I'm pretty sure you would have anyway. And to you fuckers that have tattoos of your kids faces... Why? You have to look at the little prick everyday for 18 years. Why would you want his ugly mug on you for the rest of your life?

I get a little pissed about this shit... sorry...

Yeah. Much like men's tattoos, it really depends on the person and what they got inked. If they go well together and had a good idea or are somehow right for that person, then more power to them.

What I don't like is people judging anything about a person with tattoos. The only thing you can say about a person who decides to get a tattoo that isn't an assumtion without talking to them is that they got a friggin' tattoo.

You obviously have a few??

spectre 02-25-2007 04:03 PM

The only issue I have with anyone having a tattoo is if they don't think about it first. With something that major, it should have some meaning or some importance, not just an impulse thing. That's more of an annoyance than anything though. In general, I don't judge people over things like that. And I certainly wouldn't think someone was unattractive because they had a few tattoos.

Lady Sage 02-25-2007 04:47 PM

I have two tattoos, I designed the one on my arm which can be seen in my profile picture and a friend designed the one on my leg. Both are one of a kind tattoos and both have a lot of deep personal meaning to me. In face, I am planning a third.

If this makes me trashy to some people? Dont look at them.

Thats all I have to say about that.

For real? People do that? You travel in different circles than I do, so I'm sure that you'd know. I find it...strange.

I get the mental image of "Grandma" lifting her shirt up, and saying; "Wanna see my grandkids?".
Brrrr...cold chill.

Glory's Sun 02-26-2007 05:38 AM

I love tats on girls, with the exception of tramp stamps. I hate those for some reason. The design can be perfect and look great but I just hate tramp stamps.

For me, it doesn't really matter what a person has tatted as long as it's not done on a whim and actually holds some meaning. Seriously, what the fuck could kermit the frog really symbolize??

Hello, exactly!

I certainly hope a female's decision whether or not to get a tattoo is not influenced by whether or not she'll be perceived as more or less attractive to the opposite sex.

Gees, if a man said, "I'm thinking of getting a tat, but I don't know if girls will like it" would be laughed out of town! Ugg.

I object to the common tats on either sex, because they don't indicate meaning, thought, planning, or originality. I object to the same defects in conversation as well.

Tat's on young hot chicks can be really hot.

Not all the time, but as part of a whole condition of being the "bad-girl who wants to do bad things for alcohol and to get back at her parents because Daddy never hugged her" it can work.

little_tippler 02-28-2007 08:47 AM

I prefer bare skin...on both men and women. A small and tasteful tattoo in a discrete or sexy place I don't mind. About 90% of tattoos look crap to me - they may be good art, but they don't look good on the person, permanently.

pig 02-28-2007 10:24 AM

I dig 'em, as long as they're well done.

Lady Sage 02-28-2007 10:45 AM

Kinda makes me wonder if some of the people in the world would rather have a ditz without tattoos or an intelligent person they enjoy spending time with.

pig 02-28-2007 10:48 AM

well, in a slightly more verbose response - as someone who is covered from head to toe with freckles, i was born a million tattoos that i didn't get to choose. i've got scars in a bunch of places, and i didn't choose those either. therefore, i rather like the idea that someone can exercise their own creativity to modify their appearance, either temporarily or permanently. your body is one of the few things that is absolutely yours (or should be); and if you want to personalize it, i say kudos. if someone doesn't, that's fine with me too. there is also the question of personality types, although that of course isn't a direct 1:1 correlation.

Lady Sage 02-28-2007 11:07 AM

Valid point Mr. Pigglet.

I also wonder what the difference is between a tramp stamp and a tattoo?

SecretMethod70 02-28-2007 11:10 AM

a tramp stamp is just a term for a tattoo on the small of one's back.

Do I have to choose?

Why can't I have an "intelligent" person, that is ink free?

Given your limited parameters though...I'd have to go intelligent art exhibition.

Look...it's not that I have anything against tattoos. It's just that I prefer there to be none. If they're there...oh well. On my overall lists of potential deal busters...tattoos are waaaay down on the list. ;)

this isn't meant as a personal attack, because obviously you view women a certain way and I can't change that ... but dude, I just have to say, your language towards women is offensive and disrespectful.

as to the question,
I'm in the frame of mind, tats can be hot or not. It totally depends on the girl.(or guy)
no, I don't have any, but I know several women that do and it was well thought out and looks kick ass.

It's someone else's choice for their body, not mine. *shrug* and even if I didn't like her choice of tat, It wouldn't be a basis for turning a girl down that I liked.

My wife has a small one on her lower back that she designed herself. It's cute, but beyond that, I've never seen a tattoo that didn't just look trashy on a girl. I don't care for it, and whether I like it or not it changes my perception of them, but to each their own.

Um I have five tattoos and one is indeed on my lower back. Actually its resting just above my ass crack. I got it long before it was popular to get the tramp stamp done. So I don't really think this applies to everyone.

However, I might still consider blowing you in the bathroom.

Lady Sage 02-28-2007 06:35 PM

My next one is going to be on my lower back. My alpha female cats face inside a blue crescent moon with angel wings on the side.

LONG LIVE THE TRAMP LADY SAGE!!!! :D

antdood 03-01-2007 12:56 AM

I'm not one for tats, I mean, a small thing on the lower back is fine. Someone I was with had a tat about 4cm from her pussy, a real turn-off. As long as it doesn't interfere with the natural beauty of a woman, it's fine, so something small is good. No skulls or flames though, they're just freaky.

bloody_rose20 03-01-2007 04:18 AM

I like tattoos. And mean I never had one until my fionce wanted to get one and wanted me to as well, you know to join in on something he enjoys to do. I was scared out of my mind lol pale as ever when I got my first one. He kept telling me that its not going to hurt as bad as everyone says and that once I got it I would want more. I was like "pssh, Yeah right." Anyways my right arm if tattooed and it really didn't hurt as bad as I thought. It felt like a cat scratching its claws in my skin over and over again. I know doesn't sound good still but I am used to cats getting me with their claws lol. Anyways I soo went off the topic kinda lol. I am getting another one soon and I don't plan on stopping :) My man said he likes them on me (I make sure not to choose something dumb that never would fit a girl, but I make sure I liek it and he does too.) But I say if the man you are with likes them, then who cares if other guys think its gross. We aren't here to impress you all anyways :P

Also, I do liek tats but I wouldn't be dumb enough to get the tramp stamp on my lower back. Or if I were to it wouldn't be something girly. Too many fat and skanky girls always get the crap that looks tribal or butterfly'ey like most say I think that is just hideous.

I second that. I have seen some tattoos here and there I like, but nothing that ever made me think the person might have looked better after they would have gotten it. And there are some areas that are just plain turn offs to me.

highthief 03-03-2007 04:17 AM

It's a personal choice, but I don't particularly like tattoos on a woman. Would it stop me from dating a woman who had one? No (though my wife might put the kibosh on such a relationship) but all things being equal, I'd rather a woman I was hypothetically seeing didn't have one.

Charlatan 03-03-2007 04:31 AM

I agree with the sentiment that it all depends on the woman and what she has chosen to adorn her body with.

I've seen some tattoos that are just... unfortunate. Others have pique my interest in all the right ways. There is this one woman I know that has a full sleeve... hottest thing ever. It just suits her.

Lizra 03-03-2007 05:42 AM

I have a little one near my cleavage that I got about 25 years ago....HATE IT!  The ones on the lower leg sometimes remind me of varicose veins.....I'd be leery of any blue/black ink near the ankle or calf....bodies slowly change over time. :surprised:
It's really quite pricey to get one removed (last I checked, about a decade ago) how does the skin look after tattoo/tattoo removal? Anyone know?

Lady Sage 03-03-2007 06:48 AM

Like it has been burned. My aunt had one removed and it looked like she had spilled acid on herself. :(

I agree with this. The female canvas is such a beautiful work of art to begin with it seems like a tatoo would just spoil it. Now on the other hand if a woman I'm interested in has them then so be it... it's just part of what makes her real.

Now.... I wonder if *Nikki* is still in the bathroom.... :oogle:

Rinndalir 03-06-2007 12:07 PM

I'm going to go against most of the men here, I love tats on a woman *IF* they are done right. The only kind I just don't care for no matter what are face and breast tatoos. Beyond that, as long as it is well drawn and nicely colored and not your ex-boyfriend's name, rock on.

I think tramp stamps are hot. :)

CaliLivChick 03-06-2007 04:31 PM

http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=113742

I love my tattoo. I got it about 1 1/2 years ago, but I wanted it for 11 years before I got it. The design is my own, and the only things that changed in the years that I thought about it were the location (instead of an anklet, I got it on my lower back), and I added the Virgo symbol. Everything else in it had been seriously pondered for that time, because it is permanent, and I wanted to make sure that I was still into the same things for a long period of time. Turns out, my interests have only grown with time, so I'm very comfortable having this. If a guy doesn't like it on me, that's his problem, and if he doesn't want to date me because of it, it's his loss. Having my tattoo hasn't changed me. I'm still the same wonderful person I was before I got inked, and I'll still be the same wonderful person after I get my next tattoo.

Jetée 04-01-2007 09:02 PM

I believe Richard Jeni put it best:

"I always look for a woman who has a tattoo. I see a woman with a tattoo, and I'm thinking, OK, here's a gal who's capable of making a decision she'll regret in the future."

:oogle: I, personally, prefer my women au natural, but have no serious qualms about a woman wanting to express herself, even it be with permanent ink as artwork; it serves as a reminder of who she wants to makes herself out to be. Only when it may spread across to me is where I draw the line. :oogle:

eileenbunny 04-02-2007 05:33 PM

I love my tattoo and it's on my lower back. I don't think it makes me more or less beautiful, just different. I like tattoos on some girls and hate them on other girls. I feel the same way about guys. I think it's crazy to believe that just because of the placement of a tattoo on a woman's body you can judge whether or not she will give you a bj in a bathroom though. I was already married when I got mine. Then again, I try not to judge people I don't know at all. I think it is extremely limiting.

biznatch 04-02-2007 08:59 PM

It depends what kind of Tattoo. My sort-of friend has one of those stars that seem to be so hip these days and a Scooby Doo tat. They're not very well done, either. To be honest, they look stupid. But he's the sort of guy to do that, and I don't think he's a very smart guy in general.
My wife has two tattoos that are beautiful, and have a special meaning to her. One is across her lower back, but I wouldn't call it a tramp stamp, just because it's there.

To me, a tramp stamp is a pair of those "ass antlers", or a stupid tribal-style bunch of squiggly lines. I used to contemplate getting a tribal myself, but I realized that they're retarded.

Piercings I'm not against, unless they leave a big permanent mark on your body (like those huge holes in the earlobes).

I don't think people should judge tattoos before knowing what they're about (except if it's something completely retarded). Some people view their body as a canvas, and tattoos as something that truly belongs there.

Sultana 04-03-2007 09:06 AM

I am frustrated by the idea I perceive being perpetuated in this thread that the main purpose of a woman's body is to please a man. Not that it's the physical container for her being.

The main purpose of a woman's body is to please herself only.

tisonlyi 04-06-2007 02:54 AM

It's all about the combination of tattoo, lady, personality type and originality or lack thereof.

If you're a fairly dumb sort, watching reality tv and reading celeb magazines as your guides to happy living, then tramp stamps/tasmanian devil/copycat tribal/flowers/li' devil/etc tattoos might be just your things. If you happen to have a brain that is capable of independent thought, then something more original might float your boat. If you hanker after purity, then not a spot of ink is required.

I've been with a lady covered in tribal style ink all over her arms, back, breasts and legs. She WAS bad ass, so it made perfect sense. I've been with a lady whose only tattoo was a beautiful pre-raphaelite style painting on her back. It suited her perfectly. Several exes had absolutely no ink, for most that was the perfect decision, for others, they either had plans or should have had - to suit their personality types, etc (IMHO).

I love tattoos on women. I love plainskin women. I love women who are themselves with a look that matches. End of story.

Although, kiddie portraits are EVIL and WRONG.

W o w

Amazing how much intolerance, arrogance, and outright foolishness can be packed into one thread. Unless you are a female with a tattoo or considering one, none of your opinions on it making them look x, y, or z have any value whatsoever in a sane world. Especially as (numbers pulled out of my heinie but clearly true) 90% of all men would sleep with and worship any HWP female who asked them to, regardless of the presence of a tattoo or not. This is like fat old pseudo-xtian (though pseudo and xtian are redundant in most cases) anglo males debating abortion, it is moot for them to do so. Tattoos are not for YOU, they are for the person that wears them.

In the interest of full disclosure, I do not have any tats but would consider one, and my entirely sexy wife has two.One in the lower back region, and I would beat the snot out of anyone who referred to it as a tramp stamp in her presence. Clearly the primary problem is a lack of common courtesy towards those with tattoos, not the tattoos themselves.

mixedmedia 05-03-2007 11:57 AM

Perhaps not to you. I believe people can have opinions, sometimes even educated ones, without being a part of what is being discussed.

I guess I can't say that it would suck to have my head cut off because I haven't had a guillotine used on me.

If someone hasn't experienced something, it doesn't invalidate their opinion, it just means that they may not have the background on the subject. They still can form an opinion and express it, the validity of it is up to you to decide, but invalidating people's opinions outright is just silly.

Carno, If someone called my wife a tramp in my presence? I would, otherwise I would be a coward like most of the people on the internet Am I wrong for reacting to some clod insulting my wife in public? Hell, if I am, I am proud to be wrong in that case.

It is clear a lot of you missed the point and that may have been my fault and it also may have come from you trying to score cheap points off the new guy (nice pile on from the crew, amazing that 7 people have to say the same thing, does that give it more value somehow?) or a combo of both. Here is the deal, you can have your opinion, you can feel tattoos are nasty on women, make them ugly, use whatever name you wish internally. But none of you get to decide if it is right or wrong, the second you choose to do so, and many of you have openly condemned it, you are wrong. So many of you have voiced your views as being right, rather than as just being your valueless individual opinions that you negate any value in your words.

My opinion is that no one has the right to tell another what to do with their body, but that is because I am sane. It is right? Well, unfortunately it is not, because humans are control freaks and cannot grow beyond the do what I want you to do stage socially. The only time you get to make any calls on another human being is when they violate your space, your home, etc. when they do something that lacks common courtesy towards you. But the amazingly rightwingish, conservative xtian uptight and anal view of "tattoos bad" is silly. They may be wrong for you, but to attack others for having them is ignorance, intolerance and arrogance.

A.) Settle down.

B.) You're absolutely right. Well...at least about the part about no one having the right to tell another what to do with their body. I can go along with that.

However...

If one chooses to do so, especially with some of the more "out there" things that I see people do...then I reserve the right to point and laugh.

No one's trying to "score any points" off you. I've never even seen that done on this forum...

This thread wasn't about whether tattoos on women are right or wrong, and obviously no one can decide what another person should do with their body (regardless of what pro-lifers would have you think, but that's another can of worms entirely).

It's just that your comment about beating the crap out of someone for saying that tattoos are a "tramp stamp" in your wife's presence is, well, insane. You may feel that the old-fashioned outdated notion of chivalry you find in resorting to physical violence is proper, but the suggestion of violence negates the credibility of anything else you have to say on the subject. Lack of self-control over words doesn't make a man in my book, but I guess that's just another thing where I'm wrong to have an opinion.

I agree and this goes for they guys too. I have seen, along with most of you I'm sure, the stupidist tattoos on guys. Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Yosemite Sam and I know one guy that has the old logo 'Late Night with David Letterman' on his back. Jeez. I like the show but I also used to like 'The Wonderful World of Disney' as well, but I wouldn't etch it on my skin.

If guys have tattoos, they like them on women (or they should, lest they be called hypocritical). Guys without tattoos may or may not like them on women, that's the way it is.

Not big on calling them 'tramp stamps' though. I don't think your sister, wife or girlfriend is a tramp.

See? This was a failure on the part of his friends. Friends are absolutely required to keep you from doing stupid shit like this, and calling your ex, when you're drunk.

Or...

Does this friend also have a manicure per chance? Do the curtains in his apartment match the fabric of his sofa? Is the ringtone on his phone "I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right Outta My Hair", from South Pacific? Does he own a salad spinner? Does he bring Todd, "From the gym", over to cookouts?

Just askin'...

LOL. That's all I have to say.

calibrich 05-07-2007 11:37 AM

My ex has tattoos and it really does nothing for me because they are like random little things. My fav are tattoos that flow with the curves of a womans body. Not just a dolphin on an ankle.

LOL. He's a guy that used to live near me when we were kids. We only talk a couple times a year now and while he's not any o the things you described, he *is* pretty emo. In fact, he still thinks the tattoos are cool and claims that girls love it. So...yeah.

The_Jazz 05-07-2007 03:18 PM

Tattoos of Carebears.
And "the girls" love it.

Hmmm. Not a particularly good vibe.

shesus 05-07-2007 04:10 PM

I've got a stamp...does that make me a tramp?

I really don't care if anyone thinks that I am or not. I'm not around to impress people I don't know. And the people I am friends with I don't have to impress. They don't judge me based on the fact that I have 2 tattoos. I got them for me, and I can't speak for everyone, but I wasn't looking for anyone's approval when I got them.

I see where people come from when they say they prefer natural and whatnot. It boils down to the fact that it is a personal preference. I don't see much room for discussion on this topic personally.

I would have to agree with you on this. My fiancée is a belly dancer, and has her name in Arabic script across her hip. It follows her body so well that it looks like it belongs there.

I'd LOVE to see a picture of this...please?

skier 05-08-2007 09:28 AM

I love a good tattoo on a woman when it accents her body rather than being just "stuck on" somewhere. Like the lower back. While a tattoo can be placed somewhere because it symbolizes something important in their life, i find the former more aesthetically pleasing. At it's most base level, a tattoo is art. When you put one on your body it should look like a work of art, making best use of both the medium (your body) and the message (it's symbolism, or statement), combining the two and enhancing both.

Some girl putting a pretty flower or butterfly on her lower back with a tribal design on either side is not doing either of these things and also did not put much thought into it, simply seeing some on other (hot?) girls with one and it percolating downwards to the thought that if they had one too they would be more attractive as well. Or at least that's the way it seems to me.

fightnight 05-08-2007 04:11 PM

I think i'm with WK here as far as taste goes. While I've never experienced a girl with more than 1, when I go to shows or in the right parts of the city and I see chicks with some nice pieces on their chest or back, arms, that shit turns me on so much for some reason. Not really sure why, I don't have a single tattoo myself.

Additionally I used to see this girl that had two guns on her hips, angled down sticking into her pants, aiming towards the promise land. That shit is pure gold.

I'm thinking something along these lines:

These are all I have at the moment. I'll try and take some better ones after I get back from my business trip.

You can't tell in these, but when she dances it flows with her hips and the skirt. It's one of the hottest things I've seen :)

I understand how some people may not find tattoo's attractive, I have my own things that turn me off on men (long fingernails, business suits, etc). More than anything though, men who are judgemental turn me off. I don't have a pigeon hole that I put non-tattooed people in, I don't have one for persons with tattoo's either. I have been into tattoos since I was a child, and wanted one for as long as I could remember. I was finally able to get my first at 16 after years of hounding my mum. I am 24 now and have 5. Generally no one knows about them (ie: not on face, hands) and tend to be suprised that I am tattooed, which I don't understand either. Anyways, I don't regret any of my tattoos. I have had people ask me, don't you think you will regret that when you are 70 and wrinkled? My answer always is, when I am 70 and wrinkled I doubt I will be very happy with my body and showing it off, tattooed or not. I have a tramp stamp. I really hate that it is called that, although I do know many girls who have them and fit the name. They are disinterested in tattoos and got them for fact that they thought it would be daring and attractive. I don't care if people find my tattoos unattractive, to each their own. What does bother me is the judgement that comes along with it. Not that it bothers me that much, I wouldn't want to be with someone who judged someone for being tattooed anyways!

biznatch 05-12-2007 07:29 PM

To me, a tramp stamp isn't just any tattoo placed at the bottom of the back.
It's when the tattoo is just something that a girl got just to have a tat there, because it "looks cool", or something. Of course, you can't really know if a tattoo really means something to the person unless you ask.

arctic cat 05-13-2007 07:14 PM

i have a tattoo on the back of my hip. i liked it at the time but i wish i had planned it better and drew the picture myself or went to a better tattoo artist. it's kinda fading a little now but i don't hate it i just wish it was done better.

If you find a really great tattoo artist, you may be able to get it covered with something you really like and not even know. I have one on my calf, and the original did not turn out the way I had pictured, so I got a cover done and you can't even tell. Now it's beautiful and I'm so very happy with it. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would so you could see that you can get a cover without seeing the original.

*edit* I guess I'm not allowed to post attachments :(

arctic cat 05-13-2007 07:39 PM

that's sound good, but you're gonna have to show me a picture cos my imagination has gone blank. you'll need to upload your picture onto a website and use the urls for the pictures to post on here

please and thanks.

Well I hope this works. The picture is sort of blurry, but at least you can see what I'm talking about. :)

Nope, just a box with an x in it. Sorry.

Thank you thank you thank you to spectre for helping to post this picture, greatly appreciated. And also to the_jazz for trying to help too :) And I know the pic isn't the greatest, but it does show the tattoo and it is a cover tat.

arctic cat 05-15-2007 08:39 AM

the picture doesn't really do that tat justice. it looks really good.

i think i may go and consult the tattoo artist the everyone round here goes to. my friend went to this particular tattoo place and got a tat of his daughter and his dad and both his tattoos look amazingly life-like. but i'm going to have to wait because i'm in so much debt at the moment :grumpy: :)

tenniels 05-15-2007 09:31 AM

Thanks arctic cat, the picture is unfortunately fuzzy and does not show the awesome lines and details within the flowers or the vibrancy of the colour, but hopefully gave you a basic idea of what a cover can do. I'd ask for some before and after shots of covers, to give you an idea of what the artist is capable of completing. I know what you mean about the debt though ;) Let me know if you do get something done :)

arctic cat 05-15-2007 10:44 AM

what was the original that you had covered?

the one i have now is a sunflower, the colour peeled off in a matter of days of getting it done. so now i just have a slightly fuzzy outline of a sunflower. can the colour over black outlines?

tenniels 05-15-2007 11:27 AM

Hey arctic cat! The original was this outline of a flower/sun type shape with tie dye type colours filling it. Needless to say, not what I had wanted. So it did have outline and they can find ways to use the lines or make them not very visible. I have to look really close and for a few minutes before I can see one of the lines that was part of the original. Anyone else would have no clue. It is quite amazing what a good tattooist can accomplish. My original tattoo was quite small in comparison to this, but I am way happier with the larger size and of course the outcome of the design. It looks small to me in that picture, but it takes up a fair amount of space on my calf.

tasineah 10-25-2010 10:52 PM

bumping this back up...

I love tattoos on women..I am a woman and I have two..one on my wrist and one on my upper arm. I love when making love to a woman I discover the tats as I unlayer her...and as I turn her and move her around..like the prize inside the cracker jack box. To me, its the extra thoughtfulness she has gone thru to adorn her body, to please me. To whisper almost silently stories about herself. I sometimes will stop and admire and ask her to tell me about the tat...I like to talk when making love...sometimes she gets to finish the story, sometimes not. Regardless...she knows I am noticing...and to a woman, it means everything...

I love whatever a woman loves about herself...and if she put that there, she must love it...I want to know of it...

Vigilante 10-26-2010 09:10 AM

My wife has a tat full of various flowers and thin wispy lines across her lower back and right ribcage. I love it, as it's unique and pretty. Some of it was done freehand as well, so there is no way there is another like it in the world, which we both value as individualists.
